Seek Harmony

The power of daily solitude

Seek harmony, see light.

Dance to the tune of life’s harmony and emerge in a new light.

Amongst the chaos of life, it can be difficult to find a sense of peace and tranquility. Honour thy honesty and harmony will breathe light.

Find a sense of peace through prayer, self-reflection and purpose.

For in the deepest of silence, our truth whispers like an inner thunder.

In moments of doubt, despair and dread, know that alone time, blended with quiet space, will induce a fresh sunlight into any dark day.

Keeping it moving all the time, might seem like a good idea but this may also lead to “messy movements”, which in turn, can create more damaging chaos.

After one’s silent time, we make the right moves and not before.

You owe yourself the power of daily solitude, silence and serenity.

Breathe in the light and emerge so much stronger.

The Power of Gratitude

Enrich yourself in this beauty

Gratitude is so mighty powerful, it can turn a losing mindset into a winning mindset in an instant.

Be thankful for the abundance that surrounds you and enrich yourself in this beauty.

If you are feeling lost right now or need a simple ‘pick me up’, write down what you are thankful for and continue to do this daily. I promise you, this positive practice will abolish any negative self-talk you are having in that moment and empower strong foundations from within.

"I am grateful for my health and abundance all around; I am grateful for the love and real happiness I have found." Clarabelle

What are you grateful for?

Thank you for being here.

Clarabelle

I Am Grateful

I am grateful for my heart, so kind and true.

I am grateful for the sun,
and the blue in the sky,
I am grateful for the birds,
flying freely so high.

I am grateful for my heart,
so kind and true,
I am grateful for my family,
and beautiful friendships too.

I am grateful for my health,
and abundance all around.
I am grateful for the love,
and real happiness I have found.

I am grateful for my success,
I so enjoy everyday.
I am grateful for my life,
perfect in every way.

Patience is Underrated

Patience is beyond valuable

Patience is underrated, make sure you get some of that.

Patience is beyond valuable on your journey of life.

Develop your patience so you can face any tough situation going forward in your life.

This one I’m working on and it’s a whole lot harder than you think.

How’s your own patience?

Faking Happiness

Know what makes your heart sing.

You can’t fake true happiness, for real happiness exudes a different kind of energy from within and feels truly magical.

Faking happiness, although it might seem like a good idea to please others, will never match up to authentic happiness and will leave you feeling out of sync with who you really are.

In order for you to feel truly happy, you’ve got to know what makes your heart sing. What things do you like doing that makes your heart smile? Below are four of my favourite things that fall exactly into the wonderful “happiness” category:

  1. Giving to others and sharing kindness – I always get much more happiness giving to others than receiving and I know that will never change for me. I love to see other people happy, smiling and embracing joy.
  2. Creative writing – this brings me inner contentment and happiness – when I write I feel connnected to who I really am but it has to be for the benefit of others – or it doesn’t quite feel the same.
  3. Singing – I know I don’t sing enough and I really love singing and songwriting – both of these acts feel like magic to me and make me so happy. This is something I will do more of in 2023 – so watch this space!
  4. Spending time with my nieces and nephew – one of the greatest gifts of them all that gives complete joy and natural happiness.

So I invite you to welcome authentic happiness into your life today and every day so you can embrace the true joy of who you really are.

Equilibrium Upset?

Cherish your beautifully balanced equilibrium

When something or someone upsets your equilibrium, it’s important to reset your inner balance as soon as you can.

An off-balance internal system can throw out your whole day and keep you from moving forward.

Try to move on from the situation as quickly as possible or indeed “park it” until you’re ready to deal with it.

I know when my equilibrium is out of balance, I struggle to focus on the ‘job in hand’ and make any valuable progression.

Sometimes, all you need, is a well-deserved “time out” away from the person or situation, in order to give your body and head, space to think or perhaps – not to think!

To sit and dwell in an uncomfortable environment that upsets you even more, is absolutely not what we are trying to do here.

So next time you feel your harmonious field becoming disrupted, do your best to get away from that situation super fast.

You can deal with it, when you’re ready and not before then.

So cherish your beautifully balanced equilibrium and never give anyone or anything the power to knock it out of sync.

May your day be joyous and balanced.

Hello wonderful you! It’s Youtube Tuesday and today’s original video poem is all about embracing your beautiful attitude of gratitude.

May today’s video remind you of everything you have to be thankful for.

Be Grateful for Life

Be Grateful for Life

Create ‘flow’ in your life,
let worries melt away,
yesterday has gone
but the learning can stay.

Tomorrow is not here,
live for today,
enjoy each precious moment,
in every way.

Be grateful for life,
the moon and the sun,
be grateful for your family
and everyone.

Smile at your neighbours
and the stranger on the street,
for your smile is contagious,
to all that you meet.

Happy is the heart,
that glows from within,
embrace life and love
and forever you’ll win.

The Happier Side of Life

Life brings a roller coaster of changes that we are often not prepared for.

What do I know about what you’re going through right now? I have no idea if you’re feeling good or lying low but I do know that life brings a roller coaster of changes that we are often not prepared for.

We all have an emotional response to what’s going on around us and some of us are better at controlling that emotion or how we react to it.

There are so many different factors that determine how we respond to any given situation and I bet you, if you’re having a particularly bad day, you won’t respond the same way as you would, if you were having a good day.

Let’s keep it simple and say a bad day may equal a bad response and a good day may equal a good response. Therefore, if you want to respond better to challenging situations that come your way, it’s better to focus on the things that will help you have good day.

We can’t control other people and what they do but we can do as much as we can for ourselves to have a better kind of day.

Lately, I’ve been trying this out for myself and through my own daily efforts, I have managed to have more good days and good reponses than not so good ones. Below is a short list of some of the things I have been doing:

Reduced my intake of refined sugar. Although I really do love sweets, cakes, biscuits, chocolates and all that lovely stuff, I noticed it was having a detrimental effect on my mood. I certainly had more of a short fuse when sugared up to the max with these delicious fancies. By cutting these out of my diet for the last four months I have noticed a positive difference in my mindset and mood.

Cut out caffeine. Caffeine has always been a tricky one for me, I love to love it but hated the brain crash when the caffeine wore off. This, so called crash put me into a low and cranky mood and I didn’t like that one bit. So I decided, let’s cut this stuff out of my diet and see how it goes. I must say my mood has definitely uplifted and my energy levels are higher and more constant throughout the day.

Got myself back in the gym. I stopped the gym for about a year and I did notice the negative changes in my body because of it. So, I started going back to the gym 2-3 times per week and this also had a positive impact on my energy levels and mood.

Running. I love to run but again, like the gym, I stopped it for a while and I’ve got to say, I really missed my running. Running makes my whole body feel good and alive, so I make sure I run at least twice a week to get the full goodness from it.

Writing. I love writing on this blog and creating poems but I stopped for about four years and that wasn’t good for me – I was unhappy with not satisfying my creative side. So I started writing on this Clarabelle blog about five months ago and that makes me feel on top of the world.

Went on holiday. I hadn’t been on a proper holiday for a number of years and it was well overdue. This holiday really did refresh my body and mind and reminded me of how good it is to ‘getaway’ every now and again.

Positive Relationships. I started focussing on having more positive and meaningful relationships that fulfilled me and inspired me to be a better person and reach for my goals. The power of having these good relationships in your life are highly impactful and can be a real gamechanger in terms of your own love and happiness.

Sleep. One of the most important factors for me in having a better day is by getting a good night’s sleep for at least 8 hours every night. I love my sleep and never feel guilty about putting my head to rest and going for a well deserved nap. Give me a great night’s sleep and I’ll be on point the whole day through.

Water. Since I stopped the caffeine, I don’t drink fizzy soda drinks or anything like that anymore. I mainly stick to sparkling and still water and aim to drink about two litres of this beautiful stuff everyday.

Motivation. I love listening to a little bit of motivational talks everyday, it just keeps my head in the right space. Every morning I listen to “7 Good Minutes” on Spotify and it really does have a positive impact on my focus and mood throughout the day. I always say to myself, “if they can do it, I can do it” – it’s powerful stuff!

There are so many other factors that I could add to the above list, like being around family, going for walks in nature, being by the sea, watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset, doing more fun things and the list goes on.

It really all comes down to choosing to do those things everyday that will help you be a better you and ultimately have better days. I am sure most of us, if not all, would rather be around a positive, good energy person that handles most challenges well and chooses to live on the happier side of life.

Where Do I Fall?

A winning heart, is a champion mind.

A very warm welcome to wonderful you. It’s Youtube Tuesday and today’s original video poem is all about bouncing back after a fall. I have always said, resilience is built in the bouncing back, not when everything is running smoothly.

Hopefully, today’s video will help to motivate and inspire you to KEEP GOING. There will always be challenges, but you are much GREATER than any challenge that comes your way – remember that.

Where Do I Fall

Where do I fall, if not at my feet?
What keeps me going, after defeat?
A focused forever, of what I am.
A determined spirit, of “Yes I Can”.
For a winning heart, is a champion mind.
My faith is amazing, it is one of a kind.

Quitting Caffeine

With the highest of highs, came the lowest of lows.

I have been a massive fan of the popular cafe latte and chocolate topped cappuccino since I tried my first ‘proper’ barista coffee in 2005 and then, I was quite simply. . .”hooked”.

One of my favourite past times used to be going to my favourite coffee shop, having the perfect window seat and writing poems in my notepad – I really loved it! Such a simple thing to do and I could easily sit there for hours people watching, pondering, reflecting and writing away. It was soulful bliss to me.

I actually didn’t realise how much the caffeine was adding to my enjoyable experience and how my creative mind seemed to flood with rhyming words and magical rhythms as soon as the caffeine hit kicked in. I later discovered that although this caffeine intake was great in the short term moment, it wasn’t so great for my long term mindset, sleep and general mood.

For me the instant buzz of caffeine raised my output to another level and my creativity and performance, albeit for a short period, was off the charts. However, with the highest of highs came the lowest of lows and I soon realised my body needed more and more caffeine to achieve the same hit. Well, this started worrying me and in all fairness, I just didn’t like it.

The negative effects of caffeine on me were too much to tolerate to keep on taking it. I experienced mood swings, adrenal fatigue, anxiety, heart palpitations, trembling hands, acne and mild paranoia. Caffeine was making me slightly psychotic, so I had to give it up.

It took me 26 years of drinking coffee everyday to then realise how much it was negatively affecting me – that’s a lot of coffee and a lot of money to Mr Starbucks.

Since 2015 I’ve been on a rollercoaster ride with caffeine – sometimes I would stay off it for many months and then try it again to see if my body could handle the effects any better. Nope . . . . . if anything, it was just getting worse.

So fast forward to today, 30 September 2022 and I am caffeine free once more. This time I not only cut out caffeine coffees, tea and soda drinks, I also removed foods containing caffeine, such as chocolate – damn it – such a shame on that one, as I really do love chococate but I just can’t take the cocoa content.

What can I say – I genuinely feel I’ve found me again. The real me without the stimulants and I’m starting to really feel great again. My mood is now balanced, calm and focussed all of the time. My energy levels are increasing everyday and I am improving greatly with my running. My sleep is undisturbed and peaceful every night. My creativity is back to where it should be, without the need for that caffeine fix. If I want a coffee or tea it’s got to be decaf/herbal and I never drink soda anymore, sparkling water is my thing now.

I have never found the process of cutting out caffeine easy. As a matter of fact, when I do start the detox process, my mood is low and irritable for about two weeks and the caffeine withdrawal headaches are 48 hours of intense throbbing craziness.

Will I ever go back to caffeine again? Not on your life! Caffeine just messes with the very essence of me and I don’t want that messiness in my life anymore.

The last few months I have also massively reduced my refined sugar intake and I think that has also helped me to get back to me.

How does caffeine affect you? If you rely on your caffeine fix every day to ‘perk you up’ and ‘stay on it’, maybe you want to have a closer look at that?

Quitting caffeine was EXTREMELY hard for me. I once heard this quote: “If you do what’s easy everyday, your life will be hard, but if you do what’s hard everyday, your life will be easy.”

In the longterm I want an easy life, so today I will do what’s hard.

Why You Looking at me?

aim to be more self-confident

I was heading out for my usual outdoor run one day and my friend said to me, “It doesn’t bother you running outside?” I was like, “Why?”. She then explained to me, that she wouldn’t run outside because she would think everyone was looking at her. I shared with her, that gladly that thought didn’t ever come into my mind and even if it did, I would probably think, “Good, maybe I’ll inspire someone to run too!

Do you see the EMPOWERMENT or DISEMPOWERMENT your mind can have over you?

I want you to THINK about your THINKING and if it serves you well or not.

Think POWERFUL thoughts that will build you up, not break you down.

Aim to be more SELF-CONFIDENT and less SELF-CONSCIOUS, it will help you to forge forward in life.

And lastly, if you want to run outside but are maybe thinking, “What if everyone is looking at me?” Change that thinking to, “WHAT IF I INSPIRE SOMEONE TO RUN TOO?”

The selfie photo below, is of me recently, just back from my evening run in Hyde Park, London.

Clarabelle loves to run!

I hope I have inspired you to run too!

Have a GREAT one, wonderful you.

Peaceful Tranquility

give yourself some well needed ‘breathing space”

Are you craving for some peaceful tranquility in your life right now?

If you’re running around in a frenzy trying to get everything done yesterday, then maybe you do need to slow down a bit.

There is nothing more important than your health and wellbeing, so please, give yourself some well needed, ‘breathing space’.

Your family, friends and work will benefit more in the long run, if you jump off that hamster wheel and take some ‘time out’.

Your head and your heart needs a break from all the noise and unnecessary distractions that pull you in so many different directions. How on earth can you move forward with all that stuff pulling you back.

Make time for yourself to BE YOURSELF – not the angry parent, stressed out boss, frustrated friend or worried workmate.

Just time for you, to focus on YOU!

I bet, even that very thought, seems like bliss.

Remember you are deeply loved, respected and admired by the people in your life – so make sure you bring your best energy when you’re with them and that means a well rested you in advance.

I think your time to recharge is long overdue.

You’ve got this…..always!

Help! 5 Steps to Progress

You’ll definitely get there.

I know you need help – we all do at certain times in our lives. Below are five simple steps to help you move forward in life:-

  1. What you firstly want to do, is specifically work out, what kind of help you need.
You might ask the question – “What end result do I want”?
  2. Next, we have to get real here – you need to be brutally honest about what’s happening for you now.
A good question would be, “What’s my current reality?”
  3. We now need to move your thinking from the current challenge to thinking about, what it will feel like to you, once you have achieved your goal or overcome your current challenge – really get yourself excited about this!
To raise your thinking, ask yourself, “What will it feel like, look like or be like for me, once I have achieved this goal?”
  4. Then you need to think about, what resources are out there, in order for you to tap into, to get the right help.
Ask yourself, “What options are available to me?”
  5. Next, you need to take some self-action.
A good question here, might be – “Given all the options available to me, what’s the best way forward?” and “What plan will I put in place in order to make this happen? or better still “What’s my first step?”

Now, it really is, over to you, to get to work and progress on. If you put in 100% effort and remain committed to the change – you’ll definitely get there.

Keep measuring, reviewing and fine-tuning along the way – it will definitely keep you on track.

It’s Your Life – GO GET IT!

Finding Your Happy

happiness will pop in and out of my life

There are many different indicators of where happiness exudes from and I don’t think there is a ‘one size fits’ all.

I think each individual is so extremely complex, wonderful and unique that it would be quite impossible to come up with a general list for this.

There is nothing ‘general’ about being happy – let me explain.

Through different stages of life, my own quest for happiness has been determined by many different factors – mostly, where I am at, what I am doing, where I am going, who I am with and how I am feeling. Some of this stuff can relate to external positioning and material gains and sometimes that kinda stuff did make me ‘kinda’ happy.

However, there is a huge gap here that always feels unfulfiled in terms of ‘happiness’ when I feel out of alignment with my inner values, sense of meaningful contribution and working towards a purposeful vision.

You see ‘happiness’ I think, can never be extended for a ‘forever’ period of time – life just doesn’t work out that way.

I think what we are however looking for, which I feel, is much more powerful than happiness, is finding peace of mind and harmonious balance from within. When this is achieved, it’s like being in ‘flow’ and it offers a real sense of inner freedom that can never be captured.

The older and wiser I get, I realise that happiness will pop in and out of my life, just the same way excitement does and feeling motivated to do something.

If I am searching for ‘me’ in the whole process of life, then it is in the silence of the mind that the best part of me whispers.

Enjoy your happy times, for they are indeed precious, like sparkly, shiny jewels. The real sparkle however, comes from your own inner light, peacefully flowing in the freedom of your heart. Some even call that love.

What is…..?

a miracle glowing

What is love,
without surprise,
a caring thought,
heartfelt eyes.

What is kindness,
without the giving,
touching lives,
soulful living.

What is forgiveness,
without a prayer,
sharing you,
unique and rare.

What is gratitude,
without the knowing,
a thankful bond,
a miracle glowing.

What is here,
without your presence,
healing time,
your very essence.

What Are You Tolerating?

what are you tolerating

A Question to Ponder

You may not wish to answer straight away, you may wish to contemplate the question for a few minutes/hours/days or even a couple of weeks.  You don’t even need to post the answer on here, but it would be nice if you would and share your answers with others.  So here is your question:

What are you tolerating?

Here is my answer:

These days I don’t tolerate most things that don’t serve me well and I made that change for myself a while back after I came across this statement “You get what you tolerate”.  Wow, that was a transformational statement to me because it really made me think of what I was tolerating at that time in my life and didn’t wish to continue to tolerate.  This changed my thinking at that time and inspired positive change within me.

So these days, if I’m…

Success Formula

I was speaking with a good friend of mine this evening who is highly successful in their field of elite health and fitness and I wanted to share with you his four D’s of success.  Below is what he considers to be the basic foundations of his extreme success to date in this industry:

1.  Diet (Healthy Nutrition)

2.  Discipline (Self)

3.  Determination (Self)

4.  Desire (Burning)

He explained to me how he applies these basic success principles in his daily life and how good this makes him feel.  I just felt it was really good to share with you his thoughts, to help you learn and apply these principles in your daily life.

It certainly inspired me and got me thinking about the principles that are missing from my daily life and for me “Discipline” is the one I need to work on.

How to #balance your #diet

Healthier living for you….

Rohidas Vitthal Sanap: Web Developer/Designer

It’s important today to look at the nutrition value in each food item we consume!

Woman-eating-vegetable-salad-jpg

How carb rich is your diet? How many calories have you consumed today and how much fat has been accumulated in your body so far? For everyone who wants to lead a good life, sticking to a balanced diet will come as the topmost priority apart from regular exercise and healthy way of living.

Experts say a diet rich in carbohydrates defeats the idea of good health. So what must be kept in mind is to eat lots of greens. Spinach, methi and other such leafy vegetables when combined with legumes and pulses make for a nutritious combo.

By looking for alternatives like millet, oats and other grains which are fibre rich, one can explore a world of healthy recipes. Working out various permutations like replacing rice with either millet or oats in the traditional…

Take A Break

Take could care,

you’ll then shine like a star,
in whatever you do.
Rest when you need it,
just take a break,
recharge the batteries,

Life can be exciting,
but over-stretching too,
your passion will not fade,
it lives inside of you.
Create the space,

relax the body,

  1. 6am wake up, sometimes earlier, I set my alarm at least an hour and a half before I start work, this is so I can listen daily to lots of positivity before I start my day.  I switch on my favourite YouTube channels and I am doing morning meditations, listening to Gratitude audios, seeking wisdom from people like Tony Robbins, Esther Hicks, Louise Hay, anything and everything on the Law of Attraction/Law of Vibration, anything and everything positive and motivational.  I love it, it really sets me up for the day, nothing negative is getting into my brain.
  2. Healthy nutritious breakfast, this maybe a healthy smoothie, or porridge oats or scrambled eggs, breakfast is a MUST for me, I need to get that metabolism going, I love the energy it gives me at the start of the day.
  3. Work through my MUSTS for today, usually prepared the night before on my iPad, MUSTS firsts then wants.
  4. Blog post time, yippee, let’s share the inspiration in my head with others….I love it.
  5. Run time, I’m training for the Edinburgh marathon so I MUST get my training run in, today my training run is 5 miles woo hoo, I love running, it makes me feel so good and I love to see how my body starts to change, how it starts to look really fit and amazing with all that training.
  6. More motivation and positivity from YouTube or a great book, as long as it’s positive I’ll have it, give me more, give me more, more, more, more
  7. Meal times for me are as healthy as possible, especially when “I’m on it” and what I mean by that is when I am really focused on improving my health and fitness, which I am now.
  8. Chat to family and friends, I work away at the moment, so I do my best to keep in touch with friends and family, everyday I do something that fulfills this for me.
  9. Write letters/cards to friends, usually I am either buying cards for people or writing cards and letters and sending them to people I know, I love doing that.
  10. Me time, personal development planning time, I love this time, at least 1-2 hours thinking and planning what I want out of my life, what I am aiming for in the future and researching into how I am going to get there – the world is my oyster, that’s what I believe and I believe that I can be, do and have anything I want in life.
  11. Coffee and chocolate, yes I know, not that healthy, I love this little treat, almost nearly everyday I will treat myself to this, I do get away with it because of all my running training, I do enjoy my coffee and chocolate fix.
  12. Focusing on changing my thinking, okay I’m not perfect and I do sometimes have doubts or negativity trying to seep into that mind of mine, so I have great strategies in place that will block/deflect that stuff.  It can be anything from listening to my favourite music, going for a walk, whatever it is, I know what I need to do and I am most definitely getting better at changing the contents of my thoughts  to thoughts that are more supportive towards me and my goals.
  13. Daydreaming, I love a little daydream or even a short nap in the afternoon, it recharges the batteries and rejuvenates my spirit.
  14. Lots of food, I eat a lot so I try my best to eat as healthy as possible, although as I said before I allows myself treats when I want them, if my body is craving for chips, then I’ll definitely have them, but not everyday, maybe once a month or something like that.
  15. Gratitude, this is such a big part of my life, in my quiet thoughtful moments throughout the day I think of all the things I am grateful for right now in my life, in that moment, I do this often, many times throughout the day…..I love doing it, I am so very grateful, I truly am.
  16. Water, well….I could definitely get a lot better at drinking more water, however I am very good at drinking herbal teas, decaf green tea is my favourite right now.
  17. I have a good skincare routine now…I have got better at this over the last few months, my favourite natural oils to use right now on my skin are pure castor oil and pure coconut oil, they have tremendous benefits and I am loving using them.
  18. I always end my day with more positivity, more positive reading or positive listening, sometimes I will watch an inspirational film or documentary, I love a happy ending, I truly do.

So the above is just some of the good habits that I have adopted for myself and gradually introduced over the last few years.  I don’t live a perfect life nor would want to but I do try my best to have daily rituals which I know help me to work towards my best ever self.  There is so much more I could do and I will get there, bit by bit, baby step by baby step…..because I know these small positive changes, through time, will make a great difference to me and my life.

What positive daily rituals/habits have you introduced into your life, that benefit you?  I’d love to hear about them, please comment below.

Edinburgh Marathon 31 May 2015

I am now one week into my Edinburgh Marathon training and I must say, I am feeling ever so good. This will be my 4th marathon and I will use all my running experience from the previous 3 marathons to make this the best one yet.

I am adapting a basic marathon training plan and mixing it up with gym strengthening sessions, where I will focus on strengthening my core muscles, my quads and my arms. I have built up this training knowledge since completing my first marathon in 2007 and I feel I really do know what works for me and what I need to improve upon.

I will keep you posted on developments.

I know I talk a lot about doing what you love on here, and road running is something I really love doing, it makes me feel so good. Personally I like to tie my running outside with a marathon goal because it keeps me so focused and aligned with my health goals and achievements.

I’m really looking forward to this one.

What do you love doing, what makes you feel so good?

Hold onto that feel good feeling, it will help you to maintain your inner happiness and improve your general wellbeing.

Here’s to a happy, healthier you.

Love, Clarabelle

Having maximum health and wellbeing is one of my core values and life goals and I do love that healthy glowing feeling when “I’m on it”.

So I shall aim to keep you posted over the next few weeks.

Stay glowing, stay healthy, stay you.

Newby to NutriBullet

NutriBullet All The Way

I was so excited on Saturday, I treated myself to my first ever nutrient extractor the “NutriBullet”.  It is a combination of both a blender and a juicer and perfect for me in helping me achieve all my health goals.

As I shared with you in a previous post I am running my 4th marathon in May this year, the Edinburgh Marathon and I want to ensure that I get the right proper nutrition into my body during my 20 weeks training plan.  I did a lot of research into the NutriBullet and what it can offer me in terms of health benefits and so therefore I decided to buy one.

Tonight, I tried it out for the very first time and I loved it, here’s what I put in my NutriBullet healthy smoothie:

  • half a cucumber
  • handful of spinach leaves
  • handful of kale leaves
  • one small plum
  • half a carrot
  • quarter of a courgette
  • 150ml of almond milk
  • 100ml of water

I didn’t actually follow any specific recipes for the above, I just put in my own smoothie mixture and hey presto, it tasted really really delicious.  I had a small glass tonight and I have kept the rest in the refrigerator for my breakfast first thing in the morning.  I love it, I LOVE it and I love putting healthy foods into my body, it just makes me feel so good and full of vitality and energy.

I shall keep you posted on all the other adventurous smoothies I make and also healthy soups, maybe you would like to try it for yourself one day, I would totally recommend it.

I love being healthy, do you?

Love Clarabelle

Edinburgh Marathon 2015

The Experience

So this year I take on the challenge of running my 4th marathon. I am super excited because the whole journey from start to finish makes me feel so good. There are so many positives from training for and completing a marathon, they actually live inside your heart forever…….they really do. The experience is so amazing and highly emotional (in a good way), that you’ll never forget it.

Love Running

I love running outdoors and I love the challenge of a marathon…..you never get the same experience twice and you find out how strong your heart and mind really is.

Fast Course

This year I am going to try and run the marathon under 5 hours, this will be a tough challenge but Edinburgh is a fast course (so I’m told) and it would be so good to achieve this in my home Country.

So my marathon history to date is:

2007 New York City Marathon, time 5 hours and 1 minute
2010 London Marathon, time 5 hours and 56 minutes
2013 Loch Ness Marathon, time 5 hours and 12 minutes
2015 Edinburgh Marathon, time TBC 🙂

Go on set yourself a goal this year, a real challenge, something that will change your life forever…….fancy doing a marathon?

Keep running towards your dreams.

Love to you, Clarabelle

I Spied With My Little Eye

I spied with my little eye,
Something beginning with me.
I looked at my life,
And discovered the vision I see.
It was colourful and bright,
All I wanted it to be.
Dancing and Smiling forever,
Like waves of gratitude in the sea.
I spied with my little eye,
Something beginning with happy.

A Grateful Heart

Be thankful for everything you have in your life right now and most of all be thankful for your life. I am forever thankful to be here and share my happy spirit with you on this blog.

Take a moment to reflect upon all that you are grateful for, you will be amazed at how good it feels.

Thank you for being here.

Love Clarabelle

Don’t Overthink It

It is so easy to overthink things, give yourself a break and just do what needs done. Often the more you hang around making a simple decision the more mixed up the mind gets. Set your mind free today, do what needs to be done and instantly that busy mind will simmer down.

What do you need to do today?

Lots of love, Clarabelle

Rest When You Need It

I needed to rest my body yesterday, it was crying out for a longer sleep, so I eventually gave it yesterday what it needed and I woke up this morning feeling even more than ready to take on the world. This poem is just about that. Does your body need a little holiday?

Rest When You Need It

Rest when you need it,
Just take a break.
It’s amazing how you’ll feel.
Full of life and awake.
So recognise in your body,
When it needs to sleep
A short 40 minutes,
Or a longer slumber deep.
Your energy will be better,
Your heart will feel so good
Rejuvenate yourself,
Live in a happy mood.

Happy?

I do believe I am, probably 99% happy with lots of things in my life. I suppose, it’s all actually down to my perception because another might experience an equivalent life and not perceive it as high a percentage. I am, in general a happy person, a natural happy spirit. This doesn’t mean I don’t have down days and hard times, I just automatically feel most true to myself just being, well……..happy!! I do my best to focus on solutions to problems, but I don’t always get it right. When I am in the 1% moments I immediately recognise it and put so much energy into turning it around for myself. Simple things like going for a walk, watching a motivational video on YouTube, writing a poem, posting to this blog or visiting my mum, they all help me get back to that happier feeling again.

If you don’t have a simple strategy to play when the chips are down, why not think about one for yourself now. Whatever works for you is a must for you to action at the times you need it most.

Hey, maybe even reading by blog helps you…….now that really does make me happy.

Stay strong and positive, Clarabelle

Double Rainbow

Today, I went a long 9 mile round trip walk to the White Horse Hill in Uffington, Oxfordshire. I wanted to view the beautiful morning sunrise from the top of the hill, however it was a little too cloudy for that. Never mind, I saw something even better on the walk back, a beautiful double rainbow, wow, it truly made my day.

Rainbow days to you, love Clarabelle

The Four D’s of Success

Never Give Up

Which of these success principles do you feel you need to work on or what do you feel is missing from the list?

It’s great to share this knowledge with you and add a little bit of value to your life.

Keep on, keeping on.

November’s Question of the Month

True Beauty

At the beginning of every month I pose a question for you to reflect upon and answer for yourself, I also provide you with my own answer to that question.

This month’s question links to the contents of my new eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude”, coming soon!!  The answers that are posted in the comments section of this blog post will contribute to a section within the eBook and I will also link this blog post to it.  It means that if you do choose to comment, which I would really really love, then your comments will be linked and can be accessed by the readers of the eBook and hopefully they will also visit your own blog, I will certainly encourage them to do that.

So this month’s question relates to “Gratitude“, I bet you guessed that one already!!  🙂

Question:

What does the feeling of “Gratitude” feel like to you, i.e. how does “Gratitude” make you feel?

My Answer:

When I am truly grateful for anything I have in life, it makes me feel so wonderful, I feel happy inside, I feel inspired, I feel motivated, I feel energised, I feel at one with myself, I feel I want to help other people, I feel of real value, I feel in harmony and in balance.

Feeling grateful is such a beautiful feeling for me and sometimes words cannot nearly describe what it really feels like.  Feeling grateful makes me feel like I am meant to be here, it connects me to my purpose in life and makes me want to take inspired action.

Gratitude makes my heart smile inside and it touches my soul……it’s a bit like feeling the feelings of love, true love.  When I am grateful I feel connected to a higher purpose, I feel good, I feel loved, I feel so thankful for being alive, right now, in this very moment.

When I feel grateful I want to sing, I want to dance and I want to share my happy feelings with others.

I practice daily gratitude and this is why, because it makes me feel so so so so good.

I would really really love to know what it feels like for you?

The Science Behind Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude

As you know I am a massive fan of daily gratitude, it is such an important value to me, I just love the feeling of feeling grateful, it makes me feel so good…..and with my daily gratitude exercise, I feel happier and happier every day.  I totally believe in the power of gratitude and that is why it has been a joy to me to write an eBook on Gratitude.

What Science Reveals About Daily Gratitude

In this YouTube video below, Jane Ransom, Coach/Speaker/Author/Professional Hypnotist, shares at a TEDxTalk some of the benefits of gratitude and what science reveals about the practice of daily gratitude.

Jane states, “When you practice gratitude correctly you tap into neuroplasticity , brain plasticity, that’s the discovery that we can restructure our physical brains by using our minds to create better brain cell connections.  Today, neuroplasticity reveals how a consistent gratitude exercise works to physically remap the connections amongst our brains cells to literally reform the subconscious mind.”

Jane shares that she is living proof that daily gratitude works for her in her life and I am also living proof of that too……I honestly cannot say enough good things about the practice of daily gratitude and my eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude” will provide you with exercises on how to do that….coming soon!!

What are you grateful for today?

A Little Bit of Me Time…

Happy and Excited

Yesterday my best friend Donna and I went to the Carrick Spa at Cameron House Hotel in Loch Lomond, this was a 40th birthday gift given to me by my great friends Gina and John. We had one of the BEST days ever and even though it didn’t all go plain sailing, we were so happy and excited about going, nothing was going to dampen our spirits.  Here is a little taster of our journey from yesterday.

59 Seconds

We both decided that we would get the train in so we could have a few celebratory glasses of bubbly as part of our day.  Unfortunately we missed our train by 59 seconds (to be precise) which was going to leave us 30 minutes late for our spa treatment, a rasul mud massage.  I telephoned the Spa to let them know we were going to be late and was very nicely advised that because they were fully booked that day, we would probably not get our treatment but we could still spend the rest of the time using all the other spa facilities.  Instead of us being angry, annoyed or disappointed, we just laughed off the situation because we were still very grateful for this day.

What a Real Gentleman

Thank you to the gentleman working at Queen Street Station in Glasgow City Centre, who came over to us to offer his help and he spent at least 20 minutes trying to help us look at alternative trains so we could get there on time.  What a real gentleman he was and we had such a laugh talking to him and telling him about our wonderful day ahead at the Spa. After looking at the other options, we accepted the fact that we were going to have to be 30 minutes late and therefore miss our rasul massage treatment but hey, we were still really looking forward to using all the facilities at the 5 Star Spa.  I said earlier, we were in such a good mood, nothing was going to spoil our excitement.  🙂

Elated

We arrived at the very stunning Carrick Spa in Loch Lomond and sincerely apologised for our lateness.  To our wonderful surprise, someone had just phoned and cancelled their 1pm appointment for that day for the rasul massage treatment and yippee we were given that appointment, woo hoo, we were elated to say the least.  🙂

We spent almost 5 hours in the Spa that day including receiving our rasul mud therapy treatment, it was truly wonderful and below are some of the photographs (some funny mud ones too) from our day:

“Me Time”

We had such a great day and it was so good for Donna and I to have special quality “me time” together.  We had a brilliant experience at the Carrick Spa, it is such a stunning place, hidden amongst the beauty of natural surroundings.

YOU Deserve It!!

A little bit of “Me Time” really does you the world of good, go on, treat yourself today to some special “Me Time”, it doesn’t need to be a day out at the Spa (although I would fully recommend it), it could just be taking 30 minutes of alone time to read a book, go for a walk, play your favorite music, whatever it is, enjoy it to the fullest because YOU really to deserve it and it will make you feel so good.

Thank You

Thank you again to my great friends John and Gina for this special 40th birthday gift, it is an experience we will never forget, thank you.

Thank you Donna for the most amazing company yesterday, it was such a fabulous day.

Thanks also to YOU for reading this blog post, I am so glad to have you here, I like sharing the stories of my life with you and I do hope you have some special “Me Time” today.

Much love to you as always, Clarabelle.

The Health of your Heart

Clarabelle Quotes

Be kind to yourself, be loving with your heart, keep it healthy and it will feel truly alive at all times.  This next poem is inspired by just that.  Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle

The Health of your Heart

The health of your heart,
is an important one.
Treat it so special,
relish in some fun.

Know it is precious,
loving and true.
Remember it’s happy,
always for you.

Give it fresh air,
it will blossom in the breeze.
Let its beat fill your body,
it will melt away the freeze.

Trust your intuition
let it flow in the sunshine,
Your healthy heart is so sacred
It’s quite simply sublime.

Clarabelle Blog Vision Statement

Loch Ness Marathon Coming Soon…..

Training Plan

The last 4 months I have been training vigorously for the Loch Ness Marathon to be held this Sunday, 29 September 2013.  This is my final week of training and I am pleased to say that it has all gone reasonably well with only some minor injuries and a few cuts and bruises.  This is my third marathon, I did the New York Marathon in 2007 and the London Marathon in 2010, both really challenging but amazing experiences.   Below is a photo of the training plan I have been following for the Loch Ness Marathon 2013:

Loch Ness Marathon Training Plan

I am excited about the Marathon run this Sunday, it can be a very exhilarating and highly emotional experience as you push your body past the realms of capability.  I am not sure if I will commit to doing another Marathon, I may look for a new fitness challenge, so this Sunday I am going to embrace the whole experience fully and be so thankful for my health, energy and fitness levels to take me past the finish line.  Below is a photograph of my running medals since I started road running in 2007:

Marathon Medals

I have learned a lot about myself whilst setting myself these running challenges or any challenge for that matter.  I know when I fully commit to a goal that I want to do, my determination and tunnel-vision focus will always see me achieve it.  It is like I have this inner dial in my subconscious mind switched to whatever the goal is and I know I am going to do it, I have absolute faith and belief that I will achieve that goal…..but it has to be a goal that I am passionate about doing!!

inner dial

Of course, just like any goal you want to achieve in life, you have to have a plan and you have to introduce new daily rituals which will support you and move you towards that goal. Just like my Marathon Training Plan above, then all I have to do is follow it…..simple!! Hahaha, well sometimes not so simple but I know you get my drift.  🙂

So there you have it, this Sunday, 29 September 2013,  I will be running 26.2 miles in an around Inverness, Scotland and I look forward to sharing the success story in a future blog post.

What goal have you always wanted to achieve and why?  Maybe, today is the day you decide to commit to it fully, set the inner dial on your subconscious mind to whatever it is and just you go for it.

Much love to you today,  Clarabelle

Soul Growth

soul growth

Do something today to honour your soul.  Something that will deeply connect you to your true self.  What might this be?  Well, for me it could be any of the following:

  • Taking time to pray
  • Make up my own prayer
  • Write a heartfelt poem
  • Spend some time reflecting on my Vision Wall
  • Declutter the house
  • Writing a song
  • Creating music
  • Reading a book on a subject I’m passionate about
  • Writing a meaningful and purposeful blog post 🙂
  • Meditating
  • Writing a Gratitude List
  • Listening to my favourite music
  • Spending time with my close family and friends
  • Going for a long run
  • A walk amongst nature
  • Helping someone

The above, are just some things that help my own soul growth but for you in might be something completely different.  Do whatever works for you, as along as you do it.  Soul growth is such a special type of development that really gets to the core of who you really are.  Personally, I really love it and I will continue every day to develop my soul.

What will you do today to honour your soul?

Wising you a beautiful day filled with smiles, joy and happiness, may your soul shine with great courage, true spirit and unconditional love.

Much love to you today, Clarabelle.

I am currently on holiday right now, so that is why I have not posted for a few days. I want you to know that I have been thinking about you and I have some great posts to follow soon, when I come back. Here is a short quote from me to you,

“The sun is always shining in your heart, let your inner rays warmth the soul of another, be bright, light and glow forever.”

London Marathon 2013

London Marathon 2010
Clarabelle & Gina London Marathon 2010

It was the London Marathon on Sunday, 21 April 2013, and I just want to say a massive congratulations to everyone who took part in the run and also to the most amazing support from the thousands of people who stand for hours along the side of the road to cheer on the runners.  I have run a couple of marathons before so I really do know what it is like to feel the wonderful support and encouragement from the crowd, it really does motivate you as a runner and really puts a smile on your face.   I did the London marathon in 2010 with my good friend Gina and we raised a good amount of money for a charity which is very close to Gina’s heart, Alzheimer Scotland.  I don’t often share a lot of videos on this blog but I thought it might be nice to share the video I personally made in 2010 of our London Marathon experience, it is quite good fun to watch, you will see from the video how excited I am – so please be prepared.  I feel there is at least one more marathon in me and as I write this I am seriously contemplating doing another one this year – which one, I don’t know you, but I will let you know when I have decided.

So please enjoy the wee video, I hope it makes you smile and maybe even inspires you to take on the challenge of running a marathon.

Much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle.
