Challenges are a blessing, they make us stronger from within, although at the time it doesn’t really feel that way.
Courage will always find you. Please have faith and know in your heart of hearts that setbacks make us dig deeper and a new opportunity awaits for you.
May you create the right opportunity for you in your life today.
Couragous words coming your way in the following poem by Clarabelle.
There is a magnetic, captivating and contagious attitude that when embraced and shared throughout your daily activities will catapult you and your life to the greatest level. It’s the the attitude of “yes I can” “yes I will help” “yes I will do it” “yes this is a great opportunity” “yes, thank you for the experience” “yes I will certainly give it a try” “yes I will keep going” “yes I will give it 100%”. THIS attitude is the ultimate attitude of moving you one step closer to your dreams. This beautiful attitude, attracts to you, the life that you desire.
Opportunities
I hold this attitude in my heart and mind every day. I live and breathe this attitude as much as I can and it has been very good to me in return.
Opportunities are abundant, they are everywhere, living and breathing around you but only with the right attitude will you see them and get a chance to experience them.
Scenic Route
This is the right attitude which will help you to get to where you want to go. It’s sometimes the scenic route, in other words, not always the quickest route, but certainly when you look back on life it’s the most fulfilling.
Yes I Can
What’s the point of living your life with a “I hate the world” attitude? What’s the point of letting everyone know you’re having a bad day? Think about it, with that attitude you’re just dragging everyone else around you down – well if they let you. Personally, I never gravitate towards people with that unhappy negative attitude, I move away from them as fast as I can. Think about lifting yourself up for a change, practice having a “yes I can” attitude and be grateful for your everyday challenges, for without them you would not grow and without growth your contribution to the world becomes less and less and thus moving you away from a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Zest
Live your life with zest and with an upbeat attitude that will allow you to tackle even the most difficult of challenges. A positive attitude will attract the right people into your life, people who will want to help you, people who will be there for you, people who will support you and stand by your side in the toughest of times. Be enthusiastic, be excited about life and engage in new things that interest you and do as much as you can of what you love. Your whole being will thank you for it. Get going and take the right attitude with you today and everyday.
It’s your life, go get it!!

The most difficult barriers to break down, are the barriers you put up yourself, protecting you from rejection and from facing your most deepest fears. When you do this, you are masking who you really are, pretending that the outside truth matches your inner truth. When you do this, it creates a misalignment of who you really are with what you really feel.
Vulnerability is a strength, because it only speaks the truth. To forgive someone for their wrong doing, is a strength. To say “I love you” even though it may not be reciprocated, is a strength. To give without the expectation of a thank you, is a strength. To serve without receiving anything in return, is a strength.
Hearts that live by the above are stronger than no other, they are wholesome and true.
I am not that strong yet, but I guess there is so much strength in recognising that and admitting it.
Speak your truth, speak your heart and let those inner barriers down. Go on, I know you can do it.
Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle

Be a loyal and trustworthy person and you will have the best friends for life.
Be open and honest with your feelings, it will help people to see the true side of you.
Be helpful and caring towards others and seek first to understand before being understood.
Be a positive and upbeat kind of person – no one wants to be around a drainer – sorry, they just don’t!
Be kind and friendly as much as you can because these qualities are always remembered in you by others.
Really focus on developing yourself as much as possible and read books on other people who have already succeeded in life.
Never judge another – you have not walked in that person’s shoes and you don’t know the difficult experiences other people have had to deal with. No one lives a perfect life, believe that!
Take time to plan what you want out of life in the next 2, 5 and 10 years from now and then go to work EVERYDAY on your plan.
Look after your health and wellbeing and that includes your mental, physical and spiritual.
Keep your finances in check and do your best to never lose money but instead work out how to grow your money and how to make it work for you.

Yes, you did read that right….. and what a really stupid thing for me to do!
2008
The year was 2008 and I was training for my first marathon. I was about 8 months into my training (out of 11 months in total) and was on a significant 16 mile run. Up until then, everything was going perfectly in my training and this particular Sunday morning run, started off really well.
I got to about 12 miles in, and soon, a little knee niggle became a huge big, pain in the butt – so much so, that I had to stop running at the 13 mile mark.
To say I was furious, was an understatement – I was so ANGRY and FRUSTRATED, that I started to agressively kick the brick wall next to me. I kicked that wall so hard that I nearly did myself some serious damage, but thankfully, I realised how stupid I was being and eventually stopped.
This ‘kicking the brick wall’ incident was very ‘out of character’ for me, and as I reflect on it today, I feel very bewildered by that ‘manic behaviour’ – it really made no sense at all!
LIFE
The ups and downs of Life WILL put our true emotions to the test and it’s our job to have internal control over how we respond to these emotions. Anger, frustration, aggression and crazy behaviour, NEVER EVER works…. period!
I recently watched a video interview of a former Royal Marine, who shared one piece of learning that was so POWERFUL. In this interview, he said, “if you’re angry, you’re wrong” – WOW . . . . . just think about that for a minute.
RERUN
So let’s take the aforementioned running incident and deal with it all over again, today, as it was back then. What would I do? Well, as soon as I felt the little niggle at the 12th mile – I’d stop, flag a taxi, rest the overworked knee and celebrate my progress to date, with my favourite bar of chocolate!
*IMPORTANT NOTE – no bricks walls were harmed in this 2008 incident, only a bruised EGO that needed to learn a hard lesson!

I was a Professional Executive Coach for many years and really did do very well in it. I met the most AMAZING leaders, whom I learned so much from. I found similar qualities in the leaders who made the BEST progress and I share below some of these:-
An incredibly ambitious growth mindset;
Deep listeners with a real eagerness to become more self-aware;
A true drive and enthusiasm for positive self-change;
Powerful and fast acting on the implementation of new ideas and learning;
A desire to become a better leader and to empower others to see their own leadership capabilities;
An unbelieveable ability to turn things around where needed;
Internally honest and seekers of truth to help them get out of their own way;
An energetic passion for meaningful results within themselves and others;
A first class ability to know what needs done and the onboard accountability for doing it;
Aspirational in their thinking and inspirational in their doing;
BIG THINKERS with a purposeful VISION;
And, let me tell you, this impressive list of leadership qualities goes on and on!
I am proud to say, I worked with the GREATEST in their field and I will never forget how ELATED and ENERGISED we both would feel after a truly progressive coaching session.
If you are in a leadership position and are currently struggling with your current set up or difficult strategic decisions – seek out a recommended professional executive coach or business mentor, who will ignite your inner drive, deeply question your current position and open up your own strategic thinking to achieve the necessary results.
There are an abundance of leadership coaching tools out there, that a highly skilled coach or mentor can share with you, in order to help you progress FAST!
Leaders have a lot of heavy plates spinning, whilst under a tremendous amount of work and personal stress – maybe it’s time to seek out the expertise you need.
Don’t stay stuck and never stay stagnant!
Be THEE Leader!

Thank YOU for following this blog and supporting the work that I do. My aim is to bring a little bit of sparkle, knowledge, wisdom and positive ‘feel good’ feelings into your life.
We all need some inspiration and encouragement at different times in our life and I do hope that my blog posts help you move forward and forge you into achieving EVERYTHING you truly deserve.
Your dreams are for the taking and I want YOU to really GO FOR IT!
After all . . . . . . . . . It’s Your Life – GO GET IT!
Behind every strategy is another strategy – let me explain.
So let’s say you want to change something for the better in your life. Let’s say for example, you want to change your career and go in a completely different direction. Let’s say you want to move away from your Management Consultancy Business and progress with a new career in property development. So first of all, I would say, “Hey you, that’s truly amazing, I admire your spirit, drive and determination to change your future. Congratulations! You’ve taken your very first step. Well done!” Now the next part for you is likely to be exciting, crazy, liberating, fulfilling, challenging and possibly frightening – all at once!! You’ve gained the knowledge, you’ve got the outer strategy and you are damn well ready to execute – oh yes, you definitely know where you’re going with this one. However, I also want you to think about your inner strategy– what do I mean by that?
Your inner strategy is that vitally important checklist, the inner compass guiding and strengthening you on the unknown path ahead. This inner strategy is the imperative foundations that you will build your outer strategy upon – you’ve got to get the inner strategy right…...first and foremost. On your inner strategy checklist you will be clear on the following areas:
I clearly know my core values and what each value means to mean.
I specifically know what is personally important to me going forward in life – I know my non-negotiables.
I fully believe in my capabilities, unlimited potential and I have faith in myself, even when there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
I am fully supportive of me, as much as I want solid support from the people closest to me, this is not necessary, as it is my responsibility to support myself with every choice, decision and commitment I make.
I have a contingency plan containing critical action points that serve my inner wellbeing, if and when difficult stresses arise – I know what’s in my combat toolbox to strengthen my mind, body and help me regain any lost focus.
I am confident, resilient and have an abundance of energy that is absolutely necessary to the success of my new vision.
I am not afraid to ask for help when I need it. I believe that asking for help is a necessary part of the process.
I am clear on my standards and expectations and I will not deviate from these in challenging times.
I will regularly take quiet time out, to reflect, review and refresh my thinking.
I am totally committed to the end goal, however I will remain present in the process and give everything my best shot.
I promise to value my self-worth and continue to grow and contribute to my purpose at every opportunity.
Your inner strategy is more important than the outer strategy. You’ve got to be clear on this stuff at the very beginning because if you are unclear on any of these statements, any slight failure along the way, may crumble your progress.
What I am saying is, go to work on yourself, know your inner strategy, have clarity and self awareness about you, for this will be the BEST start you can ever give yourself before any major life change. This is the sure start that will inevitably lead you to success.
Thank you for being here.
It’s Your Life, Go Get It!!

I can honestly say, I haven’t had the Monday Morning Blues for a good few years now and I never want to have them in the future either.
I remember, in my much younger days, getting these feelings, which often started on the Sunday evening!
I know, most of you can relate to those feelings of ‘dread’ going into a job that, for your own reasons, didn’t feel right.
I made a promise to myself a few years back that if I ever got so low again going into a job, I would sort that stuff out super fast.
Thankfully, I know what I want from a job and how I can utilise my skills and experience to contribute effectively. I also know how I want to be led and empowered to bring my best game to the table on a daily basis.
You have the true capacity and pure potential to achieve everything you want from your work and you are in control of whether you make it or break it.
I believe you deserve to experience the best of opportunities out there, so make sure you bring your ‘A’ game every single time.
There is this great quote by Rumi, “what you seek, is seeking you”, and for me, this quote is a wonderful reminder to never doubt your capabilities and be mindful of the many doors that are open for you – just walk right in.
She held a beautiful azure blue flower in her hand.
She took my hand and placed the flower in it.
Without any words, she gave me this message…..
Your magical heart can make the invisible visible. I am here because you shine. The blue of this flower represents the ocean and the sky. The petals represent the fragility of life. The wonder is not in the flower. The miracle is in you.
The old lady then disappeared.
The flower turned into tiny little seeds in the palm of my hand.
I then knew, it was time to self-nurture and grow.

I'll kneel down with him and pray
If God lets me
I'll do him very proud
If God lets me
I'll help all lost in the crowd
2.
If God lets me
I'll shine like the morning sun
If God lets me
I'll do what he needs done
If God lets me
I'll be a beacon of pure strength
If God lets me
I'll go to any given length
3.

I'll show him my full power
If God lets me
I'll respect his every hour
If God lets me
I'll take the best right turn
If God lets me
I'll let all worry burn
4.
If God lets me
I'll give him my all
If God lets me
I'll knock down each brick wall
If God lets me
I'll be happy in present time
If God lets me
I'll forever be more than fine
5.
If God lets me
I'll forgive and forget
If God lets me
I'll get out of all bad debt
If God lets me
I'll love him like no other
If God lets me
I'll make peace with every brother
6.
If God lets me
I'll hold my head up high
If God lets me
I'll be truthful and not lie
If God lets me
I'll always sing his song
If God lets me
I'll make right every wrong
7.
If God lets me
I'll live life to the full
If God lets me
I'll obey his every rule
If God lets me
I'll share the good I know
If God lets me
I'll give all hope a go
8.
If God lets me
I'll believe in my self-worth
If God lets me
Every wave of life I'll surf
If God lets me
I'll be positive and bright
If God lets me
I'll sleep peacefully each night
9.
If God lets me
I"ll take my second chance
If God lets me
I'll celebrate and dance
If God lets me
I'll show him I am real
If God lets me
I trust he'll make the deal

I tried so hard,
to win your heart,
I gave it my all,
right from the start.
I guess you didn't,
want that too,
I felt your resistance,
through and through.
So I moved on,
then you came back,
for another go,
to get on the right track.
My soul felt heavy,
for this buried hurt,
cannot be separated,
from cold dirt.
I set you free,
to live and learn,
deep true love,
you have to earn.
It takes respect,
trust and forgiving,
loyalty and smiles,
the same joint vision.
Goodbye my precious,
may you find your one,
to my dreams on the horizon
every mile I run.

Some days I am just full of energy, like today. I was in bed fairly early last night and woke up at 3am as bright as a button. It was pitch black outside but I thought to myself, get up and do what you need/want to do, so I did, rather than stare into the darkness of the room.
Sometimes I write my best stuff at this time in the morning, I really do and I love it when that happens.
So treat yourself to an early night and wake up early morning, fully alive and ready to take on your dreams. Remember to take time to watch the morning sun come up, it is such a beautiful scene.
My friend Sharon and I were have a deep and meaningful discussion the other day and we were talking about having different experiences. She shared a good analogy of her own which was, if you buy a bag of apples and the first apple you pick out is bad you don’t throw the whole bag away – do you??? I think that’s a good analogy of life, just because you have had one bad experience with someone or something, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will always have that bad experience with another, as a matter of fact, chances are you will definitely not.
Life Lessons
I have another thought on this one, what if you never experienced the bad apple in the first place, would you have missed a vital life lesson??? Sometimes what you perceived to be a bad experience initially, can for the long term turn out to be one of the best lessons in life you have ever learned. Life lessons are for the long term, as long as you remember them and learn from them.
Maybe the perceived bad apple is actually a beautiful Golden Apple in disguise.
True Magic
Inspire your heart,
Inspire your mind.
Travel the world,
Sweet treasures you’ll find.
Look up to the sky,
Bathe in the sea.
Footprints on the sand,
Destined for me.
Fresh air on my face,
Wind behind my back.
Horizon in the distance,
I’m on the right track.
A mesmerising view,
A friendly warm embrace.
True magic is within me,
I take it to every place.

He photographs and licenses images for all manner of commercial and editorial use as well as selling through this website.

Nelson writes, “I realize the dreams to travel were not mine alone. I have friends that have dreamed of traveling and trekking since the days that we all roamed the woods around Hot Springs, Virginia.
***
I realize that most of those friends will never have the opportunity to journey. Life gets in the way sometimes. But I have tried to share the majesty, intimacy and timelessness of places in my photographs in a way I hope everyone can relate to. I’ve tried to capture the reality of my childhood imaginations and share them with you. I realize that despite having grown up with these dreams, nobody needs to go on trips like I do.
But as we work through the daily routine of life at home, sometimes it helps to know that we could go. That it’s all really there.
Better yet, I hope my photographs inspire a few of you to actually follow your dreams and take your journey. I want to remind everyone that ordinary working people can visit remote places like I have. They do it all the time.
These are not expensive or difficult places to explore if you travel independently and stay with the locals.
And of course, there are endless experiences to be had in the wilderness areas of your own backyard.
You can’t begin a journey if you don’t step out. There is nothing mysterious about a rucksack. All you need are a couple changes of clothes, some hard earned time off and less money than you think.
Snake River Canyon Idaho
Get out there with me and watch the ravens fly through the dazzling glow of a remote slot canyon, watch the northern lights dance over the snows of Denali, walk with the lions and tigers in Lujan, roam the barrios in Buenos Aires looking for the next photograph, stand in the plaza as the Pope gets installed, watch in amazement during the Prayer Dance of the Native Cultural Center in Tennessee, break bread with veterans from the Falkland Islands war, listen for the choppers at the M*A*S*H set in Malibu, drift on The Snake River as we pass The Grand Tetons, stay silent in the Sonoran Desert as we wait for the Mexican drug cartel to appear, break bread with the Shoshone in Idaho, walk a knife-edge ridge in the Smokies and sit around the campfire in the Ozarks with other veterans. Fish for Pirrhana in the Amazon, watch autumn leaves fall in a gentle snowstorm in Patagonia, stand with me as 300 buffalo stampede towards us in Eusick, Washington, marvel at a palm tree swaying dark against a billion stars while camping on a moonless night in the middle of the South Pacific, sail a 16th century ship through the sound into open water, be ’embedded’ with OccupyDC during the winter, live with rugged miners in even more rugged Appalachia and drink Dr. Pepper on the front porch of the old Hatfield homestead in Mingo County.
It’s all there.
And the earth needs people who travel this way, who earn their time with its treasures, and promote its conservation.

Below is Jerry’s Guest Blog Post which he wrote especially for this Clarabelle Blog:
Life Goes On
It grey the morning I stepped outside the door in a small town close to Roswell, New Mexico, on December 17, 2006. I shifted the backpack on my shoulders and walked to the end of the drive. Adjusting the straps again, I stepped into the street and walked to the corner. Looking back one more time, shifting the pack again, I walked down the street, through the town and across America.
I’m a Vietnam Veteran and while I didn’t see as much stuff as some others did, I was affected by the war and its aftermath. After keeping feelings, emotions and nightmares bottled up for years, I was admitted to a psychiatric hospitel in Staunton, Virginia where I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Ten days in the psych ward with nothing to do but read ended up being a blessing.
I came across an old issue of National Geographic that had an article about hiking the Appalchian Trail. That was what I needed to do. That’s what I wanted to do. Get out in the woods, get away from everything and everyone I knew. Alone with just my thoughts and the Creator for company. It never happened. Sometimes life gets in the way and for years there was always a reason not to pursue my dream: my wife she…my bills they…my job it… Well, you know how it goes.
In September 2005 my wife of 31 years filed for divorce. I didn’t want it so I sat on the paperwork hoping she would have a change of heart. She never did, and in April 2006 I signed the documents and handed them over. Later that year some friends who were living in New Mexico invited me out to spend the holidays with them so I wouldn’t have to be alone. With nothing better to do, I went. I got there on December 16 and that night felt the God of my understanding say I could take my walk.
I got to Washington DC on June 30th, 2007. Since then I’ve continued to travel, write and take pictures. You can see my work on my website, www.JourneyAmerica.org. I’m always encouraging people to follow my travels and challenging them to take their own journey. If you do, the people you’ll meet are amazing.
People like Omar in a Dallas ghetto who dreams of going to medical school so he can return and care for his neighbors and “Ms. Mamie” in Jackson, Mississippi who went back to school at 80 years old.
The spiritual life-lessons learned on a trip like that stay with you through life and become a guiding force and you learn that:
Life goes on and no matter what you’re going through I encourage you to “Join the Adventure”

I want to tell you about one of the gratitude exercises I have been carrying out over the last few weeks from my new eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude”. The gratitude exercise is called “Gratitude Penny Jar”. The eBook explains the full process on how to do this, but basically, in summary, when you have carried out this daily gratitude exercise you will have a full jar of “Gratitude Pennies” at the end of it to give away.
Gratitude Pennies
I was so excited the other evening because my Gratitude Penny Jar was full to the brim and I knew exactly who I was giving the Gratitude Pennies to. So I enthusiastically emptied the jar onto my living room floor and counted out the Gratitude Pennies. Here are some photos below:
402 Things That I Was Grateful For
All in all I had collected 402 Gratitude Pennies, I felt so good because that equated to 402 things that I was grateful for in my life over the last few weeks and now I was going to give these Gratitude Pennies away to someone who needed them more than me.
At the beginning of this Gratitude Exercise I already knew who I would give my pennies to because I often passed this homeless lady on the streets of Glasgow City Centre, no matter what the weather, selling “The Big Issue” Magazine, which is sold by people who are homeless. I counted out exactly £8.50 in one pence and five pence coins and I bagged them up all nicely and noted the amount on the outside, see photo below:
The Gratitude Walk
I was so excited the next day as I headed into Glasgow City Centre for work, as I really wanted to give the older homeless lady the Gratitude Pennies. As I turned the corner towards the Street she normally sits, I could see her about 100 metres ahead….this was the best feeling ever and I am now going to call this experience here “The Gratitude Walk”. I honestly felt like I had a million pounds in my bag to give the lady and even though it was only £8.50, these were special pennies, because these were “Gratitude Pennies” and every gratitude thought was from me with always her in my mind.
Thank You Lady
I smiled as I approached the lady and I handed her the white bag with the pennies in it, she looked at me in surprise, opened the bag and…..well let’s just say I’ll never forget the look on her face, she was so happy, so grateful and so loving with it all. “Thank you lady, thank you lady”, she said, to which I gave her the biggest smile, touched her on the shoulder and wished her a good day. I immediately filled up with tears because I know that little amount of money would have made a big difference to that lady and the expression on her face said it all.
Best Day
I had the best day that day, I felt so good and I paid my “Gratitude Pennies” forward to someone who needed them more than me……..there are no words to describe the feeling I felt……no words at all.
I want you to experience “The Gratitude Walk”, just like I did, and pay your “Gratitude Pennies” forward – not only will you feel amazing but the person you give them to will also feel so good.
It’s All About Gratitude
You can find out more about this Gratitude Exercise and other gratitude exercises, affirmations, poetry and quotations in my new eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude” which was published yesterday evening. Please click on the image below to access.
Please click on the link below or the eBook image above, if you are interested in purchasing the eBook. You will notice that the price of it is £8.50 – exactly the amount that was collected in my first“Gratitude Penny Jar” – yes, I’ve already started my next one!!
I have always wondered that why we are not satisfied with what we have? what triggers our desire level? whats the result of the desire? Is there any way to control our desire and lead a life in harmony? Yes i do got a teacher to enlighten he was none other than a footwear engineer who’s has his shelter below the sheet metal and working hard for his survival.
It was a week before I was on my way to my home from a temple which is almost 8 Kms from the place of my residence. One such fine morning while returning to base after having some divine revelation from the almighty I happen to notice a man who was sitting under a tamarind tree and was busy with his business, I approached him to get my footwear done, Since my footwear needs bit of servicing I have approached…
The video below shares with you the poem that inspired the “Clarabelle” logo with the blue butterfly and the Scottish tartan background. For those of you who are not familiar with the Clarabelle logo, here it is below:
It was created by my friend Jennifer, who is a fabulous Graphic Designer, after we had a deep and meaningful discussion about what I wanted.
I wanted to keep the logo quite simple with the following:
The “Clarabelle” name,
A butterfly, representing change/transformation and free spirit,
The colour “azure blue” which I really love and was so drawn to at the time (this is also the colour of my car) and which I didn’t know at the time, this is the colour for the communicationchakra…..how apt.
I also wanted a connection to my Scottishroots, I think that was Jennifer’s idea and I really liked it.
At the time of our initial discussions Jennifer handed me a piece of paper and asked me to sign the “Clarabelle” name, I then went back to her with some other ideas about the butterfly having a heart (I later decided not to use this), and she did the rest, and what an amazing job she did.
Jennifer originally provided me with the following wonderful examples for the Clarabelle Logo:
Feedback
I then used the above sample designs, to ask people I know and work with which was their favorite logo and why, this was to help me make the final decision on which logo I finally went with. I must say that the white/hearts butterfly logo above, came a very very close second. 🙂
Thanks again to Jennifer for creating this logo, every time I see it I think of this poem that inspired it.
I do hope you enjoy this video poem below, “I Wish I Was A Butterfly” that inspired the logo:
I Wish I Was A Butterfly
I wish I was a butterfly, dancing in the air,
Sparking in the sunshine, so wonderful and rare.
The beauty is in the detail, the colours so bright,
I watch you fluttering, in the magical sunlight.
You are on a journey, now you are free,
To move in the moment, like a honeybee.
Fragile in my hands, strong in the mind,
I’m mesmerised by your life, it’s one of a kind.
Sweet, sweet, butterfly, where do you go?
A soft breeze under your wings, only you do know.
You’ve awakened my soul, the world is your own,
You’ve come through the stages, developed and grown.
I look in the mirror and to my surprise,
A butterfly is on my shoulder, I can’t believe my eyes.
You represent free spirit, inside of me,
You whisper the truth, of what I’ve always wanted to be.
Today I am here, with my dreams in my heart,
The suitcase is ready, waiting to depart.
The destination is exciting, I’ve waited so long,
Now I am ready, I know where I belong.
Patience was a virtue, so evident and true,
Babysteps forward, from the back of the queue.
I’m next in line, a new chapter awaits,
As I close the door behind me and enter new gates.
We all dream of this or that (I’m talking about our waking dreams), and dreams spring from a void in our lives: we don’t currently have something so we imagine what it would be like to have it.
We dream of finding the love of our lives. We dream of more passion in our relationship. We dream of more money.
Yesterday my best friend Donna and I went to the Carrick Spa at Cameron House Hotel in Loch Lomond, this was a 40th birthday gift given to me by my great friends Gina and John. We had one of the BEST days ever and even though it didn’t all go plain sailing, we were so happy and excited about going, nothing was going to dampen our spirits. Here is a little taster of our journey from yesterday.
59 Seconds
We both decided that we would get the train in so we could have a few celebratory glasses of bubbly as part of our day. Unfortunately we missed our train by 59 seconds (to be precise) which was going to leave us 30 minutes late for our spa treatment, a rasul mud massage. I telephoned the Spa to let them know we were going to be late and was very nicely advised that because they were fully booked that day, we would probably not get our treatment but we could still spend the rest of the time using all the other spa facilities. Instead of us being angry, annoyed or disappointed, we just laughed off the situation because we were still very grateful for this day.
What a Real Gentleman
Thank you to the gentleman working at Queen Street Station in Glasgow City Centre, who came over to us to offer his help and he spent at least 20 minutes trying to help us look at alternative trains so we could get there on time. What a real gentleman he was and we had such a laugh talking to him and telling him about our wonderful day ahead at the Spa. After looking at the other options, we accepted the fact that we were going to have to be 30 minutes late and therefore miss our rasul massage treatment but hey, we were still really looking forward to using all the facilities at the 5 Star Spa. I said earlier, we were in such a good mood, nothing was going to spoil our excitement. 🙂
Elated
We arrived at the very stunning Carrick Spa in Loch Lomond and sincerely apologised for our lateness. To our wonderful surprise, someone had just phoned and cancelled their 1pm appointment for that day for the rasul massage treatment and yippeewe were given that appointment, woo hoo, we were elated to say the least. 🙂
We spent almost 5 hours in the Spa that day including receiving our rasul mud therapy treatment, it was truly wonderful and below are some of the photographs (some funny mud ones too) from our day:

“Me Time”
We had such a great day and it was so good for Donna and I to have special quality “me time” together. We had a brilliant experience at the Carrick Spa, it is such a stunning place, hidden amongst the beauty of natural surroundings.
YOU Deserve It!!
A little bit of “Me Time” really does you the world of good, go on, treat yourself today to some special “Me Time”, it doesn’t need to be a day out at the Spa (although I would fully recommend it), it could just be taking 30 minutes of alone time to read a book, go for a walk, play your favorite music, whatever it is, enjoy it to the fullest because YOU really to deserve it and it will make you feel so good.
Thank You
Thank you again to my great friends John and Gina for this special 40th birthday gift, it is an experience we will never forget, thank you.
Thank you Donna for the most amazing company yesterday, it was such a fabulous day.
Thanks also to YOU for reading this blog post, I am so glad to have you here, I like sharing the stories of my life with you and I do hope you have some special “Me Time” today.
In my day job when I am coaching I often work with people on how to identify what they want in life. This can be a difficult one for some people because it isn’t always obvious for them, for many different reasons.
There is one coaching tool that I use which often gets great results for the person and I would like to share it with you here today so you can try it, if you wish. I call this the “What I Want” Table (see photo below).
Take a blank piece of paper (see photo below) and head it up “What I Want“. State underneath this what life area you want to focus on for e.g. “Health”. Draw a table with two columns. On the left hand column, write the heading, “What I Don’t Want” and the right hand column, write the heading, “What I Want”.
People struggling to identify what they want in life often find it easier to start with what they DON’T want in that area of their life.
Complete the left hand column first for e.g. what you don’t want to think, feel, do and experience in this specific area of your life and then write down the contrast of that on the right column, i.e. “What I Want”, i.e. what I do want to think, feel, do and experience.
This is a really simple but effective process in helping you identify what you want by thinking about what you don’t want first. It can make identifying the “What I Want” process a whole lot easier for you.
Your BIG Why
It is also really important to have a big enough reason as to WHY you want to achieve that goal in the first place, why is it so important for you to achieve and it must also be in alignment with your core values.
If you are struggling to think about what you want in life, please try the above process and let me know if it works for you. This process really works for me and for some of the people I coach but it is important to know that we are all different and just because this process works for me it doesn’t mean it will work for you. But hey, I say, please give it a go and tell me what you think.
I set specifics goals for myself at the beginning of 2013 and I review their progress every 3-4 months together with some fine tuning of these goals. All these goals are also directly related to my Vision Wall that I created in the spring time of 2012, please see the Vision Wall page here on this blog for more specific details around the process I followed specifically for that.
Today I want to share with you the process I have carried out in creating my Focus Goal Cards as this is something you may wish to do for yourself.
I have seven specific Focus Goal Cards that I completed for myself.
Each Focus Goal is written on an A6 size piece of white card (see photos below) with the following details:
Date you start the goal card
Goal Details
Why this is an important goal for you to achieve
Action steps you will take (on back of card)
Your signature of your commitment to achieving this goal
Date you expect the goal to be completed by
Ultimate Success Formula (F.A.S.T.) (on back of card)

Below is a photo of an example for you:

The A6 size Focus Goal Cards are for my office desk so that I can read them often when working from it.
I also wanted to be able to keep my Focus Goal Cards at hand, so that I can read them when I am out and about, so I decided to create a miniature version of each Focus Goal Card, beginning with an “I Am” statement for e.g. “I am in perfect health”.
Goal Cards in handy Wallet

I then keep these smaller cards, with less information on them, in my Focus Goal Card Wallet in my handbag and read them throughout the day, as much as possible.
Subconscious Mind
What I am specifically doing here, is that I am consciously and deliberately making an effort, with repetition in mind to shift these goals from my conscious mind into my subconscious mind so that I will then automatically do things every day that are in support of me achieving these goals.
Focus Goal Journal
In addition to the above I also have a Focus Goal Journal (photo below) where I continually write each specific goal on the notepad journal, line after line after line, filling up each page – again this is so the goal moves more quickly from my conscious mind into my subconscious mind.

Bespoke Process
So there you have it, that’s the Focus Goal Card process that I am currently going through. I am fully aware that this is the final quarter of the year and I wanted to step it up a level in order to ensure I achieve what I want, so this is what I decided to do to achieve that. Together with my Vision Wall I feel this makes a dynamic goal achievement processthat is bespoke to me and I know what works for me. For yourself, it may be a completely different process but I guess you won’t know until you try it for yourself and if you do, please let me know how you get on, I will certainly let you know how I am getting on in a future blog post.
After all, “What you think about, you bring about”and I want YOU and I to do everything we can to support that process.
Know what you want and just you go for it and please do whatever works best for you.
Be kind to yourself, be loving with your heart, keep it healthy and it will feel truly alive at all times. This next poem is inspired by just that. Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle
The Health of your Heart
The health of your heart,
is an important one.
Treat it so special,
relish in some fun.
Know it is precious,
loving and true.
Remember it’s happy,
always for you.
Give it fresh air,
it will blossom in the breeze.
Let its beat fill your body,
it will melt away the freeze.
Trust your intuition
let it flow in the sunshine,
Your healthy heart is so sacred
It’s quite simply sublime.
Another sleepless night, that’s a few in a row now…….my heart is a heart filled with excitement and enthusiasm for life and it whispers to me that it needs no rest right now. So I open the page and write to you in poetic verse, because this is what I LOVE to do. Stay beautiful my friend, because you are. Clarabelle 🙂
An Awakened Heart
I just couldn’t sleep,
in bed last night.
I tossed and turned,
but there was nothing to fright.
I wasn’t worried,
about this or that.
I wasn’t scared,
of my inner chat.
This time it was different,
I’m happy to share.
My awakened self was excited,
I do declare.
So grateful for life,
and the abundance here.
Grateful for my health,
and positive cheer.
Jumping for joy,
about all of my dreams.
Turning to reality,
so quickly it seems.
For it comes with ease,
and I feel no pain.
My heart and soul,
is full of faith again.
The spirit never dies,
when all doors seem locked.
Love never leaves,
what the mind had blocked.
An awakened heart,
needs no rest to recover.
It beats life into you,
this you will discover
If you are a regular follower or visitor of this blog you will be fully aware that I am a big fan of gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. 🙂 I am truly so grateful for everything I have in my life right now and I know that because of my deepest gratitude for it all, the Universe brings to me more things to be fully grateful for. This next poem is inspired by my gratitude to all that I have, all that I am and all that I am becoming……I know life can be tough at times but it also can be truly AWESOME too. Thank YOU, love Clarabelle.

Beautiful people touch our hearts forever and that is what this next poem is all about. Remember you are a beautiful person and you also touch the hearts of others in such a beautiful and meaningful way that makes their heart smile. Thank you for being here, thank you for reading this, thank you for being YOU. I write this as I think of you, much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle 🙂
I Think of You
I think of you,
a little and a lot
A beautiful smile,
that’s what you’ve got
I think of your laughter,
it makes my heart dance
Free flowing energy,
as love takes a chance
Your spirits are high,
no matter the weather
Your musical notes,
are as light as a feather
And in the midst of it all,
I hear your calling
Singing my name,
barriers falling
Life is a risk,
but with you I’m there
Climbing the mountain,
wind through our hair
For wherever you roam,
know this is true
I may not be by your side,
but I’m always with you
