Rough Patches of Life

IMG_3584.JPG

On the pathway to your dreams you are most certainly going to have to get over some rough patches. There may be a cluster of them all at once or more sporadic than that, over a lengthier period of time, but regardless they will be there, eager to put you to the challenge.

Are you up for the challenge?  I surely am, it’s only a “rough patch”, how rough can it get?

Like stormy waters or a rocky road, these challenges make your adventure even more worthwhile because there are many lessons in these hidden bumps.

See if you can change your perception towards the rough patches of life, see them as part of the mystery, as part of the muscle building process for your inner strength. These so called rough patches, strengthen your character and prepare you for the mountain ahead. How big is your mountain? You see, I reckon if it’s not big enough, if it’s not scary enough, then you need a bigger, much higher mountain to climb and that means a bigger more ambitious vision for yourself.

My mountain climb is scary but scary in a good way, the challenge excites me and I see myself, ALWAYS getting to the top…..I am happiest climbing the mountain, especially when I look back and see how far I have come – wow did I really make that journey?

WOW yourself today with your big mountain climb challenge, go on, I dare you!!

Happier days are now, love to you, Clarabelle

Change is Good

Burning Ambition

Welcome Change

I know a lot of people don’t like change but personally I welcome change.  I thrive in new settings, new beginnings, meeting new people, learning new things, overcoming new challenges, working in new and changing environments, I love it all.  So I encourage you today, to think about what you would like to change in your life today, what little or large change could you make to your daily habits, your environment, your job, your relationships, that will enhance your skills, knowledge, experience or just make you that little bit happier and/or more content with you and your life.

Change is good, it will sometimes take you out of your comfort zone and into your learning zone.

Change is good, it can be refreshing and revigorating meeting new people and/or being in a new environment

Change is GOOD…….Change is GOOD.  🙂

Please remember, even a small change could make all the difference to your day, try a new fruit or putting fresh flowers in a dull room, it’s amazing how that can uplift your spirits.

I look forward to hearing about the changes you are making – mini or massive I know they will make a positive difference to your life.

Lots of love to you today, as always,

Clarabelle

Will She Make It?

Success

Reflective Mode

As you know I love to share my poems with you and whilst in reflective mode this morning I wrote the one below……..and even though I know you know this one is about me, I feel it is also about YOU, because we’re all connected in a beautiful way.  Be the “happening” of your dreams today.  Lots of love Clarabelle.

Will She Make It?

She looks beyond,
the stars above.
She feels her passion,
she embraces the love.
For all she has,
is all she dreams.
Reaching out,
to glittering sunbeams.
A twisted fate,
a serendipity goodbye.
Moves her on,
many tears she did cry.
But she is hope,
ambitions from afar.
She sees the light,
as she raises the bar.
No more hurt,
no more pain.
Will she make it?
singing in the rain.

Bubblegum Ambitions Video Poem

I hope you like this next video poem, it’s about dropping the ego, not focusing on competition but focusing your creativity and authenticity as you move forward in your life. Much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle.

Bubblegum Ambitions

You are not what you have, or even what you do,

You are what you are, be grateful for you.

To compare your life, to another one,

To aggressively compete, under the sun.

Will take your ego, into the sky,

Bubblegum ambitions, no tears you will cry.

***
But then one day, there will come a time,

You want to change, from what’s mine is mine.

You crumble to the floor, and what once was real,

Is starting to flake, and numbness you feel.

There is always a way, to shine at night,

Glowing and flowing, it’s a natural flight.

***
Silent is the heart, it speaks to you here,

Vibrations of energy, simmer the fear.

Truth is where it’s at, go to the ocean,

The waves clear your thoughts, love is in motion.

Now you are hollow, now you are free,

Knowing what you live for, let your life be.

October – Question of the Month

clarabelle-cartoon-character-2.jpg

Welcome to October’s question of the month post.  At the beginning of every month I like to pose a question for you to contemplate and I will also share my own answer to the question for you.  October’s question:

Question:

Now that we’re in the the final quarter of 2013, it is good to reflect on your achievements of the year so far.  What are you most proud of achieving this year so far?

Answer:

This is a difficult one to answer for me because I honestly feel there are so many things that I am proud of achieving this year so far and a lot of it is not always immediately obvious to the outside world because a lot of it is related to self mastery, understanding oneself, become true to myself and being the person that I am and that I am becoming.

If I had to choose one I would definitely say it is related to moving forward with my singing/songwriting career.  I have such passion and soul connection to this ambition. This year so far I have taught myself how to play the keyboard, created 9 instrumentals and written 25 original songs over a 6 month period.

Everything related to me moving forward with this part of my life feels like a miracle to me, it was as if it came out of nowhere but it was a childhood dream deeply cemented in my heart.  I do truly believe that if I didn’t start this blog in April last year, I am not sure if the singing/songwriting would have unleashed itself so quickly, or even at all!!  It is as if this blog was the planting of a seed “the new me” and every blog post has nurtured that seed to grow, develop, flourish and blossom.  This blog I am so very grateful for, this blog was certainly last year’s number one achievement by far. 🙂

Reflection

It is good to reflect on your past achievements and I would encourage you to answer this month’s question and also take time to celebrate your achievements.  After all you did it and you deserve it, you deserve the happiness it brings you.

Now, that we’re into the last quarter of 2013, make it the greatest three months of your life, I know I am.

Much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle.

Be Happy

I am so happy, life is so good
Spirits high, upbeat mood
All is well, all seems right
Stars shine, on me each night
My life is amazing, wonderful and true
My life is abundant, I want this for you
I want you to know, you have the power
To achieve your wishes, in this very hour
Start with your thoughts, keep a positive mind
Marry them with great feelings, treasures you’ll find
Like attracts like, remember this today
Be happy, stay strong, your happy life’s on its way.

How to win any battle?

Anything is Possible
Anything is Possible

“Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing.  You have to make the mind run the body.  Never let the body tell the mind what to do.  The body will always give up.  It is always tired in the morning, noon and night.  But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.”
George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

Loch Ness Marathon

I signed up for my third marathon a few weeks ago and I started my training this week.  I am doing the Loch Ness Marathon, Inverness, Scotland, UK on Sunday, 29 September 2013.  I previously completed the New York Marathon in 2007 and the London Marathon in 2010, both I found very challenging but also remarkably rewarding and fulfilling in terms of committing to a specific goal and achieving it.  When I completed my first marathon it really did give me the belief that “anything IS possible” if you put your mind to it and do what you need to do everyday to get there.  I am excited about doing the Loch Ness Marathon this year because I feel I am experienced enough now to totally relax and enjoy the whole experience, I know it will still be physically and mentally challenging but I am prepared for that.  After I complete this third marathon I am going to give each of my marathon medals to my nephew Sean (9 years), niece Megan (6 years) and niece Carmen (1.5 years) – I want them to receive these medals in the hope that it will inspire them to believe in themselves and go out and achieve anything they want in their lives, so I really do need to get that third marathon medal!!

Reflecting

I have been reflecting a lot recently (well actually, I reflect all the time, so nothing new there really 🙂 )  I have been thinking about what really works for me in terms of achieving my own goals and below is a list of what works for me:

  • Firstly, I need to want to do something, I have to see the real benefit and purpose in doing it or I will not fully commit.  My goal has to be meaningful to me and be in alignment with my core values. It also has to be my goal and definitely NOT someone else’s goal unless I am in fully alignment with their idea/goal.
  • Once I have decided that I want to do something, I then make a full commitment to doing it, without a real commitment there will be no real follow-through to the end, so I know I need to fully commit.  Commitment to me is doing whatever it takes to get there, not in a unselfish or mean way, in a “I can do this” way.
  • Next I need to do some research into what I need to do to ‘make it happen’, I research into who has done it before, what the experts say, what do I need to know that will help me on my way.
  • Then I need to make a plan of action to ensure I commit to what needs to be done, this plan of action is a structural stepping stone for me, I have realised that if I have an easy and simple daily structure to follow I will do that – simple, visual diagrams and charts work best for me.  I put the new learning into practice and tick off my daily achievements along the way – for me this definitely works!!
  • I also ensure I measure my progress along the way, What were things like at the start?, Where am I now in terms of progress? and How close am I getting to my desired goal?
  • I also like to celebrate my mini successes along the way, this is the fun part and I am also very mindful of “enjoying the journey” and having gratitude for what I am progressing towards and achieving in my life.
  • Another important aspect of me achieving my goals is, in some way to inspire others to work towards and achieve their goals, “if I can do it, then YOU can do it“, that really is an important one for me.
  • Throughout the whole process I know I have to stay super focused to get to the end goal, I constantly visualise succeeding and celebrating my achievement.  I am a highly visionary person, so I find this one quite easy, I imagine and picture in tiny details me achieving my goal, what I am wearing, who I am speaking to, how it feels, I visualise every specific detail of the end result.   I 100% know this is one of the most important steps in helping me get there – it keeps the dream/goal alive inside of me, and gives me that “never give up” attitude.
  • I am a confident and determined individual and I know that from my past experiences anything I have put my mind to achieving I always have, I know I am a “High Say” “High Do” person and I set high standards for myself.

The above are just some things that I do towards achieving my goals, for you it may be slightly different or a lot different and I would love to hear, What works for you?

Whatever you do today, may it take you closer to your dreams and goals in life, YOU have the ability to achieve whatever YOU want to achieve, BELIEVE that, SEE that, YOU are the creator of your own reality…..GO NOW MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR YOU!!

Much love to you today, as always and thank you for reading this post, Clarabelle.

What is Perfect Anyway?

Progress

Beautiful sky

I set myself high standards because I want to be the best that I can be.  I want to become a better person every day, sometimes I get this right, sometimes I don’t, but as long as I learn from it and apply the learning going forward, I know I will progress.

I don’t strive to be perfect, what is perfect anyway?  To me the closest thing to perfect is in the imperfections, that I feel is our uniqueness.  I don’t want to be like anybody else, I just want to be me, I like being me and I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Today, I want you to embrace in the fullness of this life, the wonderful person that is YOU, everything about you is special, believe you are the miracle of all miracles.  Believe in YOU, in all that you do, let your spirit fly and let your imagination free your soul into the Universe.  This energy will take shape and form into something that may be beyond your belief right now but I want you to have faith and hold onto that vision because you are a magnet for it and it’s making its way to YOU.

Much love to you today, Clarabelle
