Health Works

I have been on a major health kick for a little while now and I am most definitely seeing and feeling the benefits.  What changed for me, was that I educated myself on getting the right nutrition into my body and introducing regular exercise into my lifestyle.  I feel I have ‘cracked’ it this year, mainly because now I fully understand the importance of this balance.  The ebook ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ by Tom Venuto was a massive learning curve for me in terms of nutrition and body types, I would fully recommend this ebook if you want to know more.  Simple but effective techniques I have introduced are such things as, calorie counting, using food weighing scales, setting myself mini health goals, reading food labels – it’s shocking how much sugar and salt can be in foods that you might think are healthy for you.  This next poem is inspired by my health goals and I hope it has a positive impact on your own healthy living too.  What do you do to stay healthy?

Health Works

Health works you know, just like that,

By feeding the muscle and burning the fat,

You’ll feel better, inside and out,

Read food labels, so you have no doubt.

Measure your portions and your calorie intake,

If you do this right, a fine healthy body you will make.

Get on your bike, or go a walk in the sun,

Look and feel fabulous, let your health be priority number one.

Porridge, Porridge

It is so important to start your day with a healthy breakfast, full of nutrition.  That’s why I start most of my mornings with a delicious bowl of porridge and prunes – it gives my body the kickstart and energy it needs to go for my goals!!  What is your favourite healthy breakfast?  They say you are what you eat, although I’m not sure I want to look like porridge and prunes though.  🙂  Wishing you a wonderful day, a fabulous tomorrow and a lifetime full of healthy breakfasts – this next poem is all about that.  Lots of love Clarabelle

Porridge, Porridge

Porridge, porridge, simmering in the pot

Add in some prunes, such a nutritious lot

Start your day, with healthy food

To energise your body and make you feel good

Full of fibre and protein too

Your tummy will say yummy, ‘let’s have you’

Treat your body well, reach for the moon

Go on, have some porridge and add a delicious prune
