When You Lose a Life

missing their touch

Most of us who have suffered the great loss of a precious loved one, may indeed connect to the following poem.

I want you to know that I feel you and I truly understand the deepest hurt losing a loved one can bring.

WHEN YOU LOSE A LIFE

When you lose a life,
you loved so much,
absence of hugs,
missing their touch.

You grieve their heart,
you once embodied before,
many sleepless nights,
craving them more.

An invisible pain,
that never goes away,
so lost without them,
a hate for each day.

No one shares,
the hurt in you,
life feels numb,
purposeless too.

But know their presence,
lives in your soul,
a bond so strong,
making you whole.

Believe they stand,
right by your side,
giving you energy,
watching with pride.

They are your candle,
giving you light,
they are your blanket,
comforting you at night.

They listen to your whispers,
guide your inner thoughts,
solving your problems,
untying the knots.

So remember their smile,
laughter and glow,
bringing you solice,
when you feel low.

Know that their spirit,
embraces your love,
forever your star,
shining from above.

Having had tragic circumstances to deal with in my life with the sudden loss of my twin brother, husband and father all within a close space of time, I felt I had to write down some of my thoughts in the form of a poem to try and give me strength to get through such sad times, I feel that poetry helped me express my emotions and hopefully will encourage others to read them and take strength from them to carry on each day and look at every day as a blessing, I now try and look at life in a more positive way and have realised that through time we all get stronger.

Happiness

In our lives the sun may shine, some days I wonder why not in mine. with a spring in your step, you go about your day, but what about those who are not made that way.

Sharing your laugh and sharing your smile, means a lot to those who haven’t felt that in a while, they say try to be bubbly, try to be fun, but that’s really hard when you live a life where there is no sun.

Look in the mirror say what you see, tell yourself is that really me,the frown on my face those unlit eyes, what happened to that smile that could light up the skies.

 Pick yourself up get back on track, watch out my girl or you’ll take a step back.  So here I am smiling today and I have to tell myself ‘there is no other way’.

Prayer for the Loss of a Loved One

When someone close to us dies, often prayer can help us to see through each day until we become strong again and are ready to face the world.  I wrote this prayer after hearing about the loss of a friend’s loved one, I hope its sentiment brings strength to anyone who is going through this deep sadness at this time in their life.  Love to you Clarabelle.

Prayer for the Loss of a Loved One

Dear God,

I pray that my loved one, is now held gently in your loving arms.

May their soul now be free and abundant with love and light.

Let their happy loving spirit, shine and guide us here on earth.

I pray that my close family and friends, remain strong for each other.

May we continue to be blessed with your loving presence, every moment of every day.

Amen

You’re Never Alone

Life can be full of shocks and surprises, usually when you least expect it.  I heard some sad news recently, the unexpected passing away of an adult friend from my childhood. Instantly I thought of the loved ones that are left behind and trying to cope with their loss and sadness.  It made me think of how I was able to cope when my Dad passed away many years ago.  I wrote this poem in the hope that it will bring some comfort and solace to the grieving family and friends, you are all in my prayers.  Much love to you Clarabelle

You're Never Alone
You’re Never Alone

You’re Never Alone

Today I feel your sadness, it’s present in my heart;

Your loss is very tragic, many tears from you depart.

A sinking soul, with a deeper beat;

Emotions are heavy, no people you want to meet.

Is this real?  Is this me?

Questions stir your mind, make you feel crazy.

But let me tell you a secret, one I want to share;

When loved ones leave us, important people do care.

They offer a helping hand, to ease your current pain;

Their love surrounds you, to fill your heart again.

The human spirit comes alive, and reaches out to you;

It shines a light on your darkest days, to help you see it through.

You’re never alone, at this difficult time;

Angels dance around you, until you feel just fine.

So when you close your eyes tonight, and rest your head to sleep;

A warm blanket of love and light, penetrates your soul so deep.
