I’ve recently completed just over 100 consecutive days of meditation and I want to share with you my results.
Although I have meditated in the past, I’d never done it consistently for so long.
The reason I started it, was to feel more centred, calm and serene in my mind and body.
I also hoped daily meditations would ignite some inner inspiration in me and offer me more clarity of thought.
Together with the meditations, I also did affirmations, visualisations, created a vision board, did gratitude journalling, recorded meditation reflections, added to a new bucket list and read specialist self-development books.
What initially started out as a five minute guided meditation from YouTube, turned into a full one hour morning mindset session everyday.
So what outcomes, if any, did I achieve from the process?
- I definitely felt better after every meditation. More calm, happier and ignited with ideas. To my surprise, these good feelings lasted throughout the day
- My posture improved, as I became aware of how to sit correctly for meditations, and I began to carry that good posture all day.
- I became more intently focussed on the future and what that looks like for me.
- By visualising a healthier, more energetic me, I started to make better nutritional choices.
- I ditched the caffeine coffee recently – that’s a whole new blog post!
- I drink much more water now than before I started the process. I have also eliminated all fizzy drinks.
- I gained a lot more clarity on where I’m at and where I’m going.
- Surprisingly, others started giving me compliments on looking better.
- I introduced light exercise into my daily routine and continue to do that.
- I have greater energy and feel more youthful.
- My relationships with others improved, because I felt happier and calmer from within.
- I became luckier – yes, I really did and everything seemed to be going my way.
- My sleep improved – even more without the coffees.
- I had greater mental energy and stronger focus to plan things.
- I felt more inner contentment and present.
To get all of the above from 100 days of meditation, still amazes me to this day.
One good habit had such a positive ripple effect and further good habits became integrated ito my daily routine.
Good behaviour, really does breed good behaviour!
So why stop?
Well, from doing the meditations, I decided to commit more time to write more. I am now doing daily blog posts for the next 100 days, BUT I will restart the meditations very soon.
I preferred shorter 5-20 minutes guided meditations. These had a greater impact on me throughout my day.
I made a conscious decision to fully commit to the daily meditations – so I made it a priority.
I’d love to know what good experiences you’ve had with meditation practice – please share in the comments section below.
