Not feeling ‘happy’ this beautiful morning?

Tell me one good reason why you should be.

Focus on what is good in your life.

What are you grateful for?

If your response is “nothing”, well, that relates to your mood.

If you are in “nothing” mood, of course you will feel unhappy.

You need to get out of that ‘low level thinking’ and bit by bit, RISE UP.

Start very small and work your way up.

It can be difficult to get from unhappy to happy – so you need to gradually move up the scale.

You might even need to use your imagination to lift your mood up – let your own way unfold.

In my marathon training days, sometimes I didn’t feel like going for that cold, rainy morning run.

So, I found a strategy that worked for me.

All I had to do was brush my teeth, and somehow, it perked me up.

Soon, I was out the door, loving my run.

Sounds a little bizarre I know, but that was MY strategy.

There isn’t a one size fits all. We are all amazingly complex in our own wonderful way.

You need to find what works for you.

Remember, one good thought or action, will lead to another and another – it’s THE RIPPLE EFFECT.

Music can also be a great mood uplifter – put on a happy tune and sing along.

Stay away from anything that won’t serve your health longer term. 

Ultimately, getting to the root cause of any prolonged unhappiness, is an inside job.

Solving problems at the root, is your permanent solution, so you may need to explore that further.

Even the happiest of people feel unhappy at times, they just choose to not stay there for very long – that’s definitely me.

Make it your lifelong quest to embrace each new day with the best of you.

Also, don’t be hard on yourself for being human.

You are so special indeed.
