I want to give you a little encouragement today on the subject of feeling “stuck in a rut”.
I recently had a conversation where the other person was complaining about their life and blaming others for their difficult circumstances.
Whilst I did empathise with the person and completely understood their frustrations, I did not acknowledge their reasons for feeling “stuck”.
This person was taking no accountability or responsibility for where they stood today.
They could not get out of the problem in their head – which was on rapid repeat.
Do you think that person was in any fit mindset to see what part they where playing in their current situation? That’s a BIG NO!
When you focus on problems, your mind tends to latch onto other problems, and more problems, and so the cycle repeats.
In this heavy mindset, you’re getting nowhere fast.
You cannot solve your problems, when hating on your life.
You need to shift into a more neutral mindset, before tackling the issue.
We all have days where we get caught up in our own negativity – I do too – but I never choose to stay there for very long.
When in an “I hate the world” mode – you need to firstly be aware that that type of thinking is not serving you very well.
You WILL stay “stuck”, in a problem focussed mood.
You need to give yourself some space and detach yourself from these negative emotions.
Once your mindset is more balanced, then you can look at how to move forward.
You won’t necessarily go from unhappy to happy in an instant, but when in a more balanced mindset, you can move up the scale towards feeling better.
Now focus on SOLUTIONS.
Where am I the solution?
What can I do to change it?
What action can I take right now?
When you dive deep into solutions – you get more and more SOLUTIONS!
Your mindset can make you powerless or POWERFUL – always choose the latter!
You are responsible for making your dreams come true – always start with yourself.
