True story – I once got a job because I smiled.

I was 16 years old and going for my first full-time job in a Solicitors in Glasgow, Scotland.

There were a few of us from the nearby secretarial College, all going for the same job. We were all friends.

None of us had any office work experience and we were all learning how to ‘touch-type’ at the College.

Basically, we were all on the same educational and experience level.

Woo hoo! I got the job!

Not because I was better on paper than anybody else on the day.

Later I was told by the office staff, they gave their recommendations to the Solicitor interviewing.

They chose me, because I was the only one who SMILED at them.

WOW! The power of a SMILE.
