Poem, If You Were A Colour

Don’t you just love colours, sunny yellow, ocean blue, snowy white – don’t they just seem to uplift your mood – well, they certainly put me higher spirits. We all radiate beauty, like the spectrum of a rainbow, our colours shine from within and impact outwardly on the people we meet. If you were a colour, what colour would you be? Today, I would be a gold star, shining bright and feeling happy.

If You Were A Colour

If you were a colour, what colour would you be?

Would you be bright orange or green like a tree?

Or maybe you’d be blue, like the deepest sea

A snowy white or a yellow bumble bee

Whatever your colour, whatever you see

Radiates beauty within you and me

A daring red, if that’s what you’ll be

Or a silver moon, just unlock the key

The rainbow is smiling, I’m filled with glee

Magical colours, can make you feel so happy

If i were a colour it would be blue
calming and genteel just like the sea
and the sky up above me.

If i were a colour it would fiery and red
and passionate enough already said
just like the heart it would glow
its embers would smoulder
and love would show

if i were a colour it would be green
tranquil and relaxing and so beautiful
like forests and valleys so lush green
ever so relaxing under the trees

if i were a colour it would be yellow
and bright just like the warmth of sun
on a hot summers day shining on water and glimmering away

If i were colour it would be silver just like the moon beautiful and shining
and glowing at night too

If i were a colour it would be like you
passionate and remarkable a true poet too.
with words of passion you write away

so colourfull are your words such a beautiful display
only a true poet write so beautifully and such a colourfull array
of words and wisdom in your poetry today

I would be all of them and put on a play.
