I really had no idea that when I wrote the song, “In Time We Heal” it would make people cry – that was truly not my intention.
I remember writing this song, sitting on my own in my little bungalow in Scotland. My heartfelt intention for the song was to…
Give people hope…
Tell them better days were coming…
Convey an understanding that it will take time but you will heal from any pain you’re going through.
However, in my attempt to create a “feel good” song, a rather sad song was the outcome.
I guess when you write a song coming from a place of deep understanding and empathy, the sentiment needs to match that feeling to portray it correctly.
So I had to write the first verse from where the troubled heart was at, before I could give it hope and courage in the chorus. Hence the beginning lyrics, “Troubled times, lost my mind, feeling lonely…”
The “We Win” lyrics in the chorus, were about us all being in this together – joining hands in hope and triumph.
I wrote this song over 10 years ago and the lyrics still hit home today.
We all go through phases in life of ups and downs but sometimes when we’re in the depths of the downtimes it’s very hard to envision brighter days.
I wanted this song to connect emotionally, to heal, to help, to give hope, to set the person free from pain and to live the life of their dreams. The lyrics, “Take me to the top, never let me stop, let me go…” was about aiming to achieve unfulfilled ambitions.
When you truly listen to the lyrics of a meaningful song, you connect with it differently.
The right song for you can evoke positive change and help someone turn their life around for the better.
I know I was trying to do that with this song and if it helps just one person, then I am forever happy.
If you are going through tough times at the moment – in time you will heal.
I am here for you.
Love Clarabelle
