I can do attitude

Whilst going for your dreams, you are always being tested by life.  But there is much beauty and true wisdom in the lessons we learn from “going for it” on this journey.

You have to stay super focused amongst the everyday distractions and this is when you can really tell if it is your true burning passionate desire to achieve this goal.  If it wasn’t, you’d most certainly be very tempted to give up as soon as it gets a little tough.  It is at these times, a super passionate person would dig in even deeper, put in extra effort to really stay on track or take things up a level.  A determination like no other will spur you on to keep going and you will stay resilient towards achieving the goal in hand.

This is me and I want this to be you too.  This is where I am at and I am telling you, nothing is going to stop me and I want you to feel the same about your dreams and goals in life.  I am building up serious momentum each and every day and I am starting to feel the spark lighting up inside of me.  I want the best ever life for you and for me and I do hope your focus, determination and inner strength is as strong as mine and if not even stronger.

If I can do it, You can do it, We can do it – Let’s do it!!

A Good Life

A good life can give you all the stability and certainty you need….that I feel, maybe a staple foundation for a good life…..you know, you have a safe and secure routine and it kinda works out alright for you – I know this because I’ve been there…..for 20 years I had a good life like that.

A Great Life

A great life, a super duper amazing life, may often give you much less of the above – less stability, less certainty, less security however for me, this great life offers so much more, more excitement, more freedom, more creativity, more time for myself, more love for what I do, more giving, more sharing, more authenticity, more surprises, more adventures, more new experiences, more new people, more fun, more exploration……wow, the list goes on.

A Gamble

So today I gamble my “good life” for a “great life” and you know what, it really is working for me right now. It was a brave step forward but I know in my heart of hearts it was definitely the right thing to do for me. Not everyone sees it that way but this is MY LIFE and I have to live it and experience it my way…..the great way!!

I love this quote above,  it rings so true for me right now.

It is always tempting to compare yourself to the outcomes of another but I urge you to think only about you, how far you are progressing and if you are doing everything you can to move yourself forward and be the best that you can be.

When you think of it, it really does sound crazy to compare yourself to someone who is much further forward on the Chapters of their own book.

You are the Artist, you are the creator of your own life and you must design it your way.  Yes, you can use people as role models but don’t compare yourself to them, use their success and achievements to inspire you from within and do it your way – your own way – you know, like in the song by Frank Sinatra…..”I Did It My Way”.

I met with a wonderfully inspirational man on Sunday afternoon for coffee in Glasgow City Centre, he is a Film Maker and creative writer.  We met for about 2 hours and within that space of time I felt so inspired by his words.  He is a “go-getter”, living his dream, he wakes up every morning feeling excited, he just loves life and you can feel the power of his light shining from within.  He spoke about “Chasing Happiness” and what that meant to him….I was truly blown away!!  There is one other phrase he said that particularly stuck with me and that was “re-invent yourself”…..I loved that, because in my mind it opens up a whole new world and “I am”.  This next poem is inspired by that meeting, I do hope you are inspired by it too, love Clarabelle.

I see you, I know you’re watching me, I believe you are listening to every word I whisper, I feel you’re desire for a better you, a better life, a new tomorrow.

But I know you are a little scared, you have fears, but you’re going to be alright, you’re going to be much much better than alright. How do I know this? I just know this, because that’s why you’re here, everyday you visit me and you know it will help you, you know it will help you ease your current pain and you’re gonna make it.

Did you hear me right?  Yes, you, YOU, you’re gonna make it, that dream you’ve always wanted to achieve, that burning ambition living inside of you……it’s making its way to your heart, it wants to breathe true life into you, it’s getting ready to take on the world and nothing is going to stop it, which means nothing is going to stop you.

Pause for a moment, think about it……really think about it, you can see it right?  I know you can, because I can see it too. WOW, it looks amazing, your future self is so grateful you took the courage and made the first step now.  Go on, take another step, that’s right, you’re doing really great…….do you feel your heart smiling, it is you know, it is smiling with super joy because you’re heading in the right direction.  Where are you going?  Maybe we could do this together, help each other along the way, two brave soldiers heading out into battle and the only outcome possible is reaching the rainbow at the other end.

What a great day this is, this is the most amazing day for you, you might not realise it yet, but you’ve just climbed a huge mountain and you’re now looking at the view from the top……..You may be a little bruised getting here, but you’ve got here, wasn’t it all worth it, don’t you agree that you deserve so much better for you and for your family.  Let’s go my friend, there’s another mountain to climb, but we’re in this together, fighting with our hearts and minds to achieve EVERYTHING that we want and more.

Some days I am just full of energy, like today.  I was in bed fairly early last night and woke up at 3am as bright as a button.  It was pitch black outside but I thought to myself, get up and do what you need/want to do, so I did, rather than stare into the darkness of the room.

Sometimes I write my best stuff at this time in the morning, I really do and I love it when that happens.

So treat yourself to an early night and wake up early morning, fully alive and ready to take on your dreams.  Remember to take time to watch the morning sun come up, it is such a beautiful scene.

I love this chart above, it was passed to me by one of my clients who has been working with an expert on leading change.  I love it so much that I carry this little chart about with me everywhere now, I often look at it to measure where my mood is at.  Earlier today, I had identified my mood as being -1 Impatient, Frustrated, I know why, I was putting too much energy and focus on a situation that did not serve me well, I changed focus and it then gradually moved up to +6 Resourceful and in this moment in time I am at +8 Wise, Insightful.  Try it for yourself, print off the chart, cut it out and put it in your wallet/purse and test yourself throughout the day in terms of where your mood is at, it is very enlightening and will help…

Fairytale Ending

Do you believe in Fairytale endings?… I certainly do, you’ve got to. You’ve got to believe that everything you are working towards on the pathway to your dreams is going to manifest just the way you want it to or even better than that.

Your Fairytale ending is the ultimate vision you want for your future, even if it only feels like a whisper in the wind at the moment. Keep digging, keep trying, keep putting the right energy out there and something’s got to catch, like a ripple effect on the water, only this ripple is connected to your Fairytale ending.

See your reflection in the lake, see it as a mirror image of the person you are becoming, your future self dancing joyfully in your Fairytale ending.

Do something today to get you closer to your dreams…….keep up the great work and never stop putting in the effort that you need to put in until you get there.

When Will You Get There?

Let me tell you something, I was thinking about this, only this evening. If you’re looking for the end, if you’re wanting the process to “hurry up” then whatever it is that you are doing, may not be for you.

I write to you, everyday I write, I never look for the ending, I never think, when is this piece of writing going to end. The reason being is that I love it so much, love never wants to end, it’s continuous it’s unbreakable, the bond only gets stronger.

So if you’re looking into the distance and questioning, when will you get there…….maybe you have to change the question…….and if you have to change the question, then I guess you already know the answer.

Never ever will I stop writing to you, because even when my soul has passed on to another dimension, my spirit still shines in you, the reader and this then inspires you…..and the light continues to shine on.

You may only be one candle, but this one candle, has the power to light up the Universe.

Please remember how empowering you can be.

Light up your world and you light up the world of everyone around you.

At the moment I do 3 blog posts per day and people ask me where I get my inspiration from to write those articles and keep it up. Let me tell you something, I have no challenge at all with being inspired to write, I could write to you all day everyday, it would always be a joy for me. I know writing is for ME, I just love it, I never ever get tired of writing to you, for you and for me. Writing keeps me going, writing on this blog to you inspires my soul and uplifts every part of my being. I can write at any time of the day, inspiration is always there……it’s never ending.

I know creative writing is definitely ME, I live and breathe it with my passionate heart.

I have amazing, fabulous plans going forward that will allow me to write even more and more and more…….so my beautiful friend, watch this space, watch how this all flourishes before your very eyes.

Softly in my ear.

Oprah Winfrey’s Hands

In a previous blog post last week, I wrote a poem about Oprah Winfrey reading my book, this is what I want. I moved forward with this desire last week and posted to Oprah Winfrey a copy of my Amazon book, “Clarabelle’s Musings”.

I researched into 3 addresses to send it into Oprah Winfrey, so, yes you’ve guessed it, I sent a copy of my book to each of the 3 addresses – it could be in her hands, right now, as we speak.

I really do believe this is a book that Oprah Winfrey will absolutely love, I truly do and I guess if it’s meant for her to read she will definitely get the opportunity to read it, the Universe will make sure of that.

I shall keep you posted on developments, it may be 6 days, 6 weeks or 6 years, but let’s just see what happens.

I hope that you will take some encouragement out of this blog post for yourself, I hope it inspires you to take your dreams one step further.

I really love it when I am in a writing mood, it can happen to me at any time of the day and when it does I just have to capitalise on it, as best I can. Be Open to this Understanding

Sometimes in life we want to be a little shut off from the world….like having “temporary me” time, to give ourselves time to adjust, adapt, heal, plan, write, reflect…..or whatever that needs to be.

It is important to recognise when you need that time and not to feel obliged to expose it. When you are ready you will and not before then….this is valuable “me time”. It’s okay if others find it strange to understand at first, it’s better for you to “seek first to understand before being understood”, than the other way about. See it from their perspective first…..it will free your mind up to continue to focus all your energies on you.

If this is you, and/or you are in need of some “space” and some precious “me time” make sure you have it…….it will be good for your soul and you will re-emerge out of your cocoon with renewed energy and a fresh perspective on life.

Be open to this understanding and it will help you every step of the way.

I had a fascinating conversation with my mum today and my interpretation of that chat is shared in this poem below. She started it with “There’s something in the air…..”

There’s Something in the Air

There’s something in the air,
I feel it in my heart.
I’m not sure what it is,
Or when it all did start?

It’s a strange sensation,
Floating around me.
Connected to your being,
With friends and family.

I do believe it’s good,
Nothing there to fear.
There’s been lots changes,
In and around here.

I never really say this,

Everything Is Going To Be Okay

I woke up this morning feeling peaceful but alert inside, and then I said to myself, “everything is going to be okay, you’ve got control of this life”.

I then received a telephone call from a lovely friend and we were laughing, joking and we had such an inspirational conversation. The conversation was about him listening and acting upon his heart and the truly wonderful, positive outcomes that have come from this.

Listening By Doing

What if you listened to your heart and I mean “listening by doing”, that’s right, doing what your heart feels. Often we hear the whispers of what touches our heart and soul but we don’t really do anything about it…….but what if you did?

Think of a time when you did listen and act on your heart’s desires……..I’m thinking about a moment right now and it is making me smile…….it always included my writings and making someone laugh, smile or give them gentle words of warmth and encouragement to ease their current pain.

Trust that your heart knows the answer and demonstrate in your “doing” what you hear.

Test Your Inner Strength

How do you know you are strong, how do you really know, have you tested your inner strength recently? Why not test it again over the next few days, weeks, months?…I encourage you to set yourself a goal, a goal that will challenge your inner being, a goal that when you reach it, you know that you are even more stronger that you could ever imagine.

Make a commitment to yourself to be brave, to release your courageous soul into the universe and let it unleash your greatest potential to fight for that goal.  Make sure it’s a goal worth fighting for and if it is……well I already know you’ve made it, I already know and you do too.

Test your inner strength…….and enjoy the journey.

Write Don’t Type!!

As I “type” this 🙂 I urge you today to handwrite a letter to someone.  By writing a letter to a friend or family member, to me, it actually feels much more meaningful, it gives it much more sincerity and thoughtfulness.  That’s not to say that an email can’t be, but I just think it is really nice now and again to handwrite a letter to a special person in your life.

Today I had the choice to send an email or handwrite a letter and for the first time in a long time, I did the latter…..I sat down at my desk and wrote a letter to the person.  Now I did deliberately make more time for it and yes my hand was a little sore after filing 6 pages but, you know what, it felt really really good, I felt that I was putting some beautiful loving energy onto that paper and now that person will receive that lovely energy even more so when they read.

Who do you want to write a letter to today?  I encourage you to take some time out of your beautiful busy life and handwrite a letter to someone important in your life.  Believe me you will receive many benefits by doing this and so will the person receiving the letter, I am so sure of that.

Following on from my previous post, I dedicate this poem to Steve who is sadly no longer here:

A Paratrooper….

I saw an Ad
To write to you
You wanted a friend
Another focus too.

In January 97,
You said “Hello”
“My name is Steve
I have a sore toe.

From all the marching,
And running too,
It bleeds sometimes,
But this is what I do.

I jump from planes,
It was scary at first.
But now these skyfalls
Quench my thirst.

I love to travel,
I love the sun
I’m studying like crazy.
When not with a gun.

A paratrooper by title,
I was 18 at the start,
5 years later,
A strong soldier with a heart.

Sometimes I’m lonely,
A lot of times I’m not.
So busy with my life,
I make good of what I’ve got.

I love my fitness,
It’s important to me.
I try to improve,
Be the best I can be.

Sorry if this letter,
Arrived a little late.
But I’ll send you some photos,
Just a little more to wait.

I love to get your mail,
Please write soon Claire.
Keep smiling, soldier on.
Love from Steve, take care.”

Feeling Blessed

Sharing some happy tears with you today.

In 1996 I replied to a newspaper advert, pen friends for people in the British Army – I thought it would be a nice thing to do.

On the 13th January 1997 I received my first letter from Steve, he was 23 years and had been serving in the British army since he was 18 years old, the airmail letter came from Bosnia. We never actually met, we just wrote to each other for a period of 2 years.

I was clearing out old papers from my mum’s house the other day and came across Steve’s letters to me – 31 of them.  Today I am reading all these letters again, I am happy, I am sad (but in a good way) and I have gained such heart warming inspiration from them, all over again….I wonder where Steve is now? I wish him very well

These are the little unexpected moments of life that put some true meaning and purpose into it all.  Feeling blessed.

Write a letter to someone today, go on, I know it would be a very lovely thing to do and you and the other person will get so much from it.

Please note, that sadly after writing this blog post, I was so sad to find out that Steve passed away in September 2012 at the very young age of 39 years, I am so shocked. I will try my best to get in touch with his mum and forward his beautiful letters to her. He was so happy and full of life, such a loss to this world that he is no longer here. I think this is just a little reminder to us all that we must make the most of our lives and focus on the important things to us going forward. Clarabelle

Sometimes you just come across work out there that is a perfect fit for you at this moment in time and when that does happen it feels so wonderful inside. I urge you to seek the perfect work that fits your circumstances right now, believe me, you will enjoy it so much more than the ultimate dream job at the wrong time or worse still that high flying job that gives you no rest and no life outside of work.

Think about it, think about securing the perfect fit for you and your life right now and enjoy the journey.

I was having a little look at my blog stats today and I am over the moon with the people from all the different counties who have visited my blog.  Out of 196 countries in the world, so far, people from 138 countries around the world have visited my blog.  I am actually astounded, that’s 70% of the world’s countries are represented on stats on my blog.

So, as a massive THANK YOU to you from around the world, I am going to do a poem for your very own country. So I will make my list very soon and then I will do a lovely bespoke poem for you in your country, that’s the least I can do as a special thank you for visiting.  So if whether you’re from Ireland or Australia or France or Brazil…..all 138 of you will be getting a dedicated poem.  Of course, any new arrivals of countries, will also get their own poem.  I’m really looking forward to this, I really am.  Look out for your poem for your country.  I am smiling, I am looking forward to doing this.

Isn’t life funny,
In a strange kind of way.
One moment you’re up,
Another you’re in dismay.

As the clouds pass by,
Remember one thing.
That all can change,
With a telephone ring.

For what you seek,
Is seeking you.
It’s in the air,
Travelling through.

It wants to make you happy,
It wants to make you thrive.
Growing like a sunflower,

It’s Only A Matter of Time

It’s only a matter of time for your vision to come alive.  First you feel it in your heart, then you see it in your imagination, then you feel it moving in your bones and then it dances throughout your body….and only when it has flowed through all of those stages, only then it begins to take form.

It starts with one word, one step, one piece of the 100,000 piece jigsaw puzzle but it doesn’t matter how long it takes, because you know “your calling” is going to make it.  Listen to me my friend, it’s only a matter of time……because it is in silence of faith that dreams can be awakened.

So can I relate to the above?  Yes, you’ve got it, of course I can.  Almost 6 years ago, I was kind of laughed at because I said at the very start of my business that I was going to have my own books, my very own positive book range……I just knew what they were thinking, their faces said it all, but you know I BELIEVED, I really believed in me, I always do and sometimes I get off track but I always get back there, back to where I need to be.

I sit here today looking at my first Amazon paperback book,”Clarabelle’s Musings”, sitting on my home office desk and I am smiling with pure joy, excitement and adoration of what I see before me……for my heart is sitting on this table, my heart is painted on the pages of this book, making its way to you.

So if you believe like I believed in me, when other people laughed at what I wanted to achieve for myself, may my own story inspire you to keep going my friend…..6 days, 6 months, 6 years, you’re going to make it…..it’s only a matter of time.
