Feeling Blessed

IMG_3488

Sharing some happy tears with you today.

In 1996 I replied to a newspaper advert, pen friends for people in the British Army – I thought it would be a nice thing to do.

On the 13th January 1997 I received my first letter from Steve, he was 23 years and had been serving in the British army since he was 18 years old, the airmail letter came from Bosnia. We never actually met, we just wrote to each other for a period of 2 years.

I was clearing out old papers from my mum’s house the other day and came across Steve’s letters to me – 31 of them.  Today I am reading all these letters again, I am happy, I am sad (but in a good way) and I have gained such heart warming inspiration from them, all over again….I wonder where Steve is now? I wish him very well

These are the little unexpected moments of life that put some true meaning and purpose into it all.  Feeling blessed.

Write a letter to someone today, go on, I know it would be a very lovely thing to do and you and the other person will get so much from it.

Love Clarabelle

Please note, that sadly after writing this blog post, I was so sad to find out that Steve passed away in September 2012 at the very young age of 39 years, I am so shocked. I will try my best to get in touch with his mum and forward his beautiful letters to her. He was so happy and full of life, such a loss to this world that he is no longer here. I think this is just a little reminder to us all that we must make the most of our lives and focus on the important things to us going forward. Clarabelle

Don’t Overthink It

It is so easy to overthink things, give yourself a break and just do what needs done. Often the more you hang around making a simple decision the more mixed up the mind gets. Set your mind free today, do what needs to be done and instantly that busy mind will simmer down.

What do you need to do today?

Lots of love, Clarabelle

Thank You World

Loch Lomond Sky
Loch Lomond, Photo by Gerry Mitchell

I was having a little look at my blog stats today and I am over the moon with the people from all the different counties who have visited my blog.  Out of 196 countries in the world, so far, people from 138 countries around the world have visited my blog.  I am actually astounded, that’s 70% of the world’s countries are represented on stats on my blog.

So, as a massive THANK YOU to you from around the world, I am going to do a poem for your very own country. So I will make my list very soon and then I will do a lovely bespoke poem for you in your country, that’s the least I can do as a special thank you for visiting.  So if whether you’re from Ireland or Australia or France or Brazil…..all 138 of you will be getting a dedicated poem.  Of course, any new arrivals of countries, will also get their own poem.  I’m really looking forward to this, I really am.  Look out for your poem for your country.  I am smiling, I am looking forward to doing this.

Thank you for being here.

It’s Hard

IMG_3527.JPG

Every moment is a moment to change, don’t give up the fight, there are hands and many hearts helping you forever.  Keep going my friend.  Love Clarabelle.

It’s Hard to Believe

It’s hard to believe,
in the torrential rain.
That the sun will shine,
and free you from pain.

It’s hard to let go,
when love pulls you in.
But a one sided love,
can never win.

It’s hard to smile,
when you’re hurting inside,
when the river runs deep,
and you’ve lost all pride.

It’s hard to be you,
when you feel so drained,
emotional pain,
keeping you chained.

But believe my heart,
believe what it says.
The rainbow is ready,
and the Angel prays.

She flies above your home,
drying up your tears.
She sends you much love,
and banishes the fears.

And as you sleep,
in bed tonight.
the little Angel of love,
Shines on you bright.

With a warmth like no other.
and a pure glowing heart.
Sad times move on
And you’ll have a fresh start.

Go Forth

Go forth and change your world for the better……if your world needs changing there is always something you can do. Have faith and turn hope into happy by doing what you need to do.

Happier times are on their way.

Rest When You Need It

I needed to rest my body yesterday, it was crying out for a longer sleep, so I eventually gave it yesterday what it needed and I woke up this morning feeling even more than ready to take on the world. This poem is just about that. Does your body need a little holiday?

Rest When You Need It

Rest when you need it,
Just take a break.
It’s amazing how you’ll feel.
Full of life and awake.
So recognise in your body,
When it needs to sleep
A short 40 minutes,
Or a longer slumber deep.
Your energy will be better,
Your heart will feel so good
Rejuvenate yourself,
Live in a happy mood.

Happy?

I do believe I am, probably 99% happy with lots of things in my life. I suppose, it’s all actually down to my perception because another might experience an equivalent life and not perceive it as high a percentage. I am, in general a happy person, a natural happy spirit. This doesn’t mean I don’t have down days and hard times, I just automatically feel most true to myself just being, well……..happy!! I do my best to focus on solutions to problems, but I don’t always get it right. When I am in the 1% moments I immediately recognise it and put so much energy into turning it around for myself. Simple things like going for a walk, watching a motivational video on YouTube, writing a poem, posting to this blog or visiting my mum, they all help me get back to that happier feeling again.

If you don’t have a simple strategy to play when the chips are down, why not think about one for yourself now. Whatever works for you is a must for you to action at the times you need it most.

Hey, maybe even reading by blog helps you…….now that really does make me happy.

Stay strong and positive, Clarabelle

miracle rainbow

Miracles are everywhere and can happen at any moment in your life, I truly believe that.  I share with you below one of the poems from my paperback book, Clarabelle’s Musings, I hope you love it like I do:

Miracle to Life

As the angel, holds my soul,

The brightest diamond, comes out of coal.

Sparkling like stars, glistening forever,

Floating in the air, flowing like a river.

The staircase is calling, I see the light,

The sun would not change, this darkest night.

But somewhere from within, the heart beats stronger,

Vibrating positive energy, sadness no longer.

The tears turn to laughter, the mind is brave,

I climb over rocks and come out of my cave.

Such a beautiful scene, golden birds in flight,

The freshest breeze, body relaxed not tight.

To have a reason to live, and try again,

Is your miracle to life, free from pain.

Let’s Get Going!!

motivation

A motivational poem for you:

Let’s Get Going

Let’s get going,
Don’t you stop.
Keep your head up,
Beep beep bop.
See the goal,
In your eyes.
Feel and believe,
It’s your surprise.
So soldier on,
Break through it all.
Imagine your life.
Over the brick wall.
At the rainbow’s end,
Celebrate your glory,
This is your life,
This is your story.

The Time Will Come

Inner Butterfly

Over the last few years I have been writing lots and lots of poems, words of inspiration and motivation.  These writings have come from my inner wisdom, my corporate business knowledge and true and heartfelt life experiences.  All of my writings have been compiled into 10 books, which are currently available on Amazon. These books went “live” on Amazon in June this year, with the wonderful help from a very successful editor in America, Steve Mann.  To my absolute delight and amazement, last night, I read some truly wonderful 5 star book reviews and I wanted to share some of them with you today:

On my book, Clarabelle’s Musings:

“This full compilation of Claire’s positive thoughts, inspiring messages, and motivating jottings will make you feel like you just drank 6 energy drinks, without the heart palpitations. Her words pick you up, help you view your life in a different, more positive way, and provide you with the belief that you can accomplish anything.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Affirmations:

“Psychologists and therapists have long known that affirmations can help us all to stay on course in the goals we set for ourselves. Heck, even Oprah has spoken about how important it is to have daily affirmations for yourself. Claire, through her prose and poetry, offers us affirmations that we can use on a daily basis to help us to set goals and achieve them.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Keys to Happiness:

“We all know that to be happy all the time is an impossibility because without sadness, we would not truly appreciate happiness. Claire through her prose and poems, reminds us of what it is like to be happy and how we as individuals are responsible for our own happiness. Through her words, she unveils the secrets that really can help us all to achieve happiness more often.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Christmas Joys:

“Who doesn’t love Christmas? Well, actually, there are a lot of people who don’t. But Claire’s words bring us back to the true reality of what Christmas is all about. It’s about the joy of family, the appreciation of the blessings we have, the use of our talents to share with others to help them, and the love of keeping the people who matter to you, close in your life. Claire’s superlative use of words remind us all of the true meaning of Christmans and how we should be thankful for the joys we have in our lives. I loved it. I love Christmas. Why not read it like I did, and feel empowered to access the true Christmas Joys.”

On my book, Clarabelle Presents Nature’s Gifts:

“Claire’s expressive words bring a new appreciation to all that is nature. Her prose and poems lighten the spirit and make the heart sing with joy.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Moving Motivations:

“What are we without human motivation? Simply a shell of a human body that walks around with animation, but no direction. Claire’s writings provide motivation to all of us to dream, believe in our dreams, and take the steps necessary to achieve our dreams.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Heart and Soul:

“People don’t often make the connection of importance between the heart and the soul. Of course, we all know, without our hearts, our souls will wander. But Claire’s exquisite jottings show how closely our hearts and souls are connected, not just within our own bodies, but also in how we connect with other hearts and souls. Claire, in her quiet writings, paint a clear picture of how dependent we as fragile humans are upon not just our own hearts and souls, but the people we touch in our lives and those who touch us in our lives.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Creative Inspirations:

“Claire Murray is a talented and gifted author and poet. Her jottings inspire me and make me feel positive, happy, and make my heart sing with joy. Thank you Claire, for sharing your gifts with us. I thoroughly enjoyed all of your books. Getting up every morning and reading one of your prose or poems gave me a burst of positive energy to start my day out right and helped me to see normal things that happened throughout my day in a positive light.”

On my book, Clarabelle’s Poems of Love:

“When Claire writes about love, it really is a Splendid Thing. Through her words she is able to transport the reader back to young love, first love, and mature love. It brings back the beautiful memories of falling in love and staying in love.”

These reviews were written a few months ago and I honestly didn’t know I had made such an impact with the person reading them.  This makes me very happy.  It just goes to show, and I truly believe this, when YOU are ready, “The Time Will Come” when your inner butterfly will spread its wings and flutter to the hearts of others.

Thank you for being here, I love you for it.

All my love for a beautiful day, Clarabelle

Goodbye Sunshine, Hello Moon

A poem dedicated to the kindness of new friends and the goodbye memories in my heart.

Goodbye Sunshine

Goodbye Sunshine,
Hello Moon.
Brightest stars,
So long bloom.

Hearts gone by,
Tears collide,
Hugs of warmth,
People who guide.

Sparkling eyes,
Whispered treasure,
Thank you friends,

Be In Love

Be in love everyday with your story of life. Be in love with each moment that you experience. Be in love with the beauty of nature around you and be in love with yourself. Fill your blank page with love today, put love into all that you do, then see and feel the difference to the outcomes you receive.

Love fully, love deeply and let love nourish every part of your body. Be in love with who you are, after all you deserve it.

Together Forever

Clarabelle Quotes 71

Together Forever

Just show me love,
And I’ll show you the way.
An unknown path,
But I’m here to stay.
A new world awaits,
Hope is where I live,
Fond sweet memories,
True kindness I give.
Share your heart,
Let me see it all,
Building a new life,
Where stars do fall.
And the sun shines on,
Like never before,
Take my hand,
Let’s go through the door.
I see the rainbow,
Its colours so bright,
Together forever,
You’ve shown me the light.

The Four D’s of Success

Never Give Up

Success Formula

I was speaking with a good friend of mine this evening who is highly successful in their field of elite health and fitness and I wanted to share with you his four D’s of success.  Below is what he considers to be the basic foundations of his extreme success to date in this industry:

1.  Diet (Healthy Nutrition)

2.  Discipline (Self)

3.  Determination (Self)

4.  Desire (Burning)

He explained to me how he applies these basic success principles in his daily life and how good this makes him feel.  I just felt it was really good to share with you his thoughts, to help you learn and apply these principles in your daily life.

It certainly inspired me and got me thinking about the principles that are missing from my daily life and for me “Discipline” is the one I need to work on.

Which of these success principles do you feel you need to work on or what do you feel is missing from the list?

It’s great to share this knowledge with you and add a little bit of value to your life.

Keep on, keeping on.

Clarabelle

Keep the Faith

keep the faith

Keep the faith my friends, keep the faith my friends…..such a good statement I said it twice.  Faith for me, is peace in your heart forever and if you mix that with love, true love, wow you have everything you will ever need to go forward in life. So I will say it again, “Keep the Faith”, maybe you just needed to hear that today.  Lots of love to you, Clarabelle.

Mr Bee

Springtime Poetry

Here’s a springtime poem for you, enjoy the beauty of nature around you.  Happy weekend, love Clarabelle.

Mr Bee Poem

Mr Bee
The bee flies into my window,
Not sure what he doesn’t see.
He’s trying to get in,
And I’m getting out of me.
If only this little bee,
Knew how lucky he was.
He’d be buzzing about the flowers,
Not putting his life on pause.
Oh little bee, stay away from this box,
Spend time making honey, under the rocks.
Springtime is here, it’s waiting for you,
Mr Bee, I’ll come out and join you too.

Lots of £50 Notes…

Giving Off Happy Vibes

I was at the Post Office this morning posting some Christmas cards and parcels to friends at home and abroad.  The person serving at the Post Office Counter, if I’m very honest, is usually almost always “grumpy”, I never really look forward to being served by him. However, this morning was different, today he was smiling, he was chirpy, he was definitely giving off “happy vibes”.  I smiled at him as I approached the counter and he happily took all my Christmas cards and parcels, weighed them etc.. and charged for them.  I was smiling at him the whole way through being served and saying “thank you”. He was really happy, I could tell, then he said “Can I help you with anything else?”, I said “Yes, I would like to take out £50 from my bank account but only if you have a £50 note”. He smiled and said that they wouldn’t normally have £50 notes but someone had come in earlier today and paid for something with lots of £50 notes.  He said therefore he could give me a £50 note and then, to my complete surprise, said he would go through all the £50 notes and give me the BEST, freshest, newest looking one.  I didn’t ask him to do that, he offered and I smiled very happily back at him and said “great, thank you so much”.

Blown Away

We had a short little chat about nice new money notes then he gave me my £50 note, smiled, said thank you and wished me a good day.  I was blown away, I would never have expected him to say this to me before now, I wished him the best day ever and I hopped happily out of the shop.

I felt so good after that interaction with this person, it just goes to show the difference we can make to another person’s life by just being pleasant, well mannered and giving off “happy vibes”.

Wherever you are in the world today remember the impact you have on others, so please make it a positive one, you just might make someone’s day.

Lots of love to you today and always, Clarabelle.

The Child in Me

I was visiting my mum tonight and we went out a walk, which made me reminisce of my wonderful childhood days.  This next poem is inspired by just that.

Clarabelle and Leanne
Clarabelle (Age 10) and; Sister Leanne (Age 5)

The Child in Me

The Child in Me,
Smiles inside.

Sunny days,
And stars that guide.

Love and laughter,
All the way.

Falling down,
Back up the same day.

The Child in Me,
Has never grown old.

She sings and dances,
And plays in the cold.

She lives with heart,
She lives with joy.

An empty box,
Is her creative toy.

The Child in Me,
Is always there.

A warm friendly hug,
And a midnight prayer.

She is invincible,
With starry eyes.

She dreams of playing,
Beyond the skies.

The Child in Me,
Is present now.

I let her be free,
She takes a bow.

Happy in this moment,
Happy to be alive.

I maybe older now,
But I still feel like five.

Oh Beautiful Life

I have just created this poem and it is about how I feel about life right now, I love it, I love life……I love life, thank you.  Clarabelle

When the heart is happy

Oh Beautiful Life

Oh beautiful life,
I love you so.

Sometimes I forget,
When I’m feeling low.

But you’re always there,
by my side.

Loving me,
no secrets to hide.

For you are amazing,
a magical gift.

Your face always smiling,
my mood it does uplift.

Thank you my life,
so precious and pure.

Each breath that I take,
is a miracle cure.

Count Your Blessings

“Gratitude neutralises negative emotions” (Sonja Lyubomirsky)

I am doing a lot of research for my new “It’s All About Gratitude”  eBook on the scientific studies of the relationship between gratitude and happiness and I am wonderfully amazed by the findings.  Below is a Greater Good Science Centre, www.greatergoodscience.org YouTube video of Sonja Lyubomirsky, Professor of Psychology, University of California, Riverside, in which she talks about one of those gratitude studies, “Count Your Blessings” – I am sure you will find it very interesting indeed.

My own preference is most definitely carrying out the practice of daily gratitude because I know this 100% works for me but everyone is different and as the study explains maybe doing this once a week is enough and will have a greater impact for you.

May today be a “Count Your Blessings” day today for you and may it bring you a deeper sense of happiness and contentment into your life.  Love Clarabelle.

November’s Question of the Month

True Beauty

At the beginning of every month I pose a question for you to reflect upon and answer for yourself, I also provide you with my own answer to that question.

This month’s question links to the contents of my new eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude”, coming soon!!  The answers that are posted in the comments section of this blog post will contribute to a section within the eBook and I will also link this blog post to it.  It means that if you do choose to comment, which I would really really love, then your comments will be linked and can be accessed by the readers of the eBook and hopefully they will also visit your own blog, I will certainly encourage them to do that.

So this month’s question relates to “Gratitude“, I bet you guessed that one already!!  🙂

Question:

What does the feeling of “Gratitude” feel like to you, i.e. how does “Gratitude” make you feel?

My Answer:

When I am truly grateful for anything I have in life, it makes me feel so wonderful, I feel happy inside, I feel inspired, I feel motivated, I feel energised, I feel at one with myself, I feel I want to help other people, I feel of real value, I feel in harmony and in balance.

Feeling grateful is such a beautiful feeling for me and sometimes words cannot nearly describe what it really feels like.  Feeling grateful makes me feel like I am meant to be here, it connects me to my purpose in life and makes me want to take inspired action.

Gratitude makes my heart smile inside and it touches my soul……it’s a bit like feeling the feelings of love, true love.  When I am grateful I feel connected to a higher purpose, I feel good, I feel loved, I feel so thankful for being alive, right now, in this very moment.

When I feel grateful I want to sing, I want to dance and I want to share my happy feelings with others.

I practice daily gratitude and this is why, because it makes me feel so so so so good.

I would really really love to know what it feels like for you?

The Science Behind Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude

As you know I am a massive fan of daily gratitude, it is such an important value to me, I just love the feeling of feeling grateful, it makes me feel so good…..and with my daily gratitude exercise, I feel happier and happier every day.  I totally believe in the power of gratitude and that is why it has been a joy to me to write an eBook on Gratitude.

What Science Reveals About Daily Gratitude

In this YouTube video below, Jane Ransom, Coach/Speaker/Author/Professional Hypnotist, shares at a TEDxTalk some of the benefits of gratitude and what science reveals about the practice of daily gratitude.

Jane states, “When you practice gratitude correctly you tap into neuroplasticity , brain plasticity, that’s the discovery that we can restructure our physical brains by using our minds to create better brain cell connections.  Today, neuroplasticity reveals how a consistent gratitude exercise works to physically remap the connections amongst our brains cells to literally reform the subconscious mind.”

Jane shares that she is living proof that daily gratitude works for her in her life and I am also living proof of that too……I honestly cannot say enough good things about the practice of daily gratitude and my eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude” will provide you with exercises on how to do that….coming soon!!

What are you grateful for today?

Guest Post of the Month – Linda Smith

Poetry from the Heart

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a wonderfully talented young lady, Linda Smith.  Linda is such a positively inspiring person and I have known her from my childhood.  She writes beautiful poetry from the heart and one of her poems is shared with you below.

Linda Smith
Beautiful Poet, Linda Smith

Introduction by Linda

Hi my name is Linda Smith and I like to write about things which inspire me, and all my writing comes from the heart. My whole outlook on life changed after my battle with anorexia. It taught me that life is priceless and should be treated as such. My philosophy is ‘You only get one shot at life, so live it to the max.’

I have a beautiful family, 2 girls, who mean the world to me and whom help, and support me with everything I do and without them I would be completely lost. I work with children and it is a wonderful job because of the innocence which they possess.

As well as writing poetry, and verses, I love to go to the gym because while I’m working out I get time with my thoughts. I love to smile, and make other people smile to because it costs nothing to make someone feel good just with smiling at them.

A Heart Full of Happiness

I look from within and what do I see,
A heart full of happiness shining at me,
For all I’ve been blessed with and all that I have,
My family, my friends, my ambition and drive.

I’ve had my troubles and problems alike,
But I know that someone is there like a light,
Switching my sense on and telling me why,
I shouldn’t get down, upset or cry, because.

I look from within and what do I see,
A heart full of happiness shining at me,
For all I’ve been blessed with and all that I have,
My family, my friends, my ambition and drive.

I’m thankful for all the chances I’ve been given,
For everyone who has been there, including those now in heaven,
Life is for living, not for dwelling,
We only get one shot so make it worth telling.

I look around to see where I am, not my area but my life…..you understand,
I ponder over it and think to myself,
I’ve achieved what I want to and still have plans,
My family and friends I love with all my heart.

I look from within and what do I see,
A heart full of happiness shining at me,
For all I’ve been blessed with and all that I have,
My family, my friends, my ambition and drive.

So the next time I think of complaining,
I’ll stop and wonder why I’m havering,
Because people out there are worse of than me,
These people need help, support and to cry a new tear,
But me, hey, my life’s not perfect,
But I’ve got what I want, who I need, and a bundle of love, so.

I look from within and what do I see,
A heart full of happiness shining at me,
For all I’ve been blessed with and all that I have,
My family, my friends, my ambition and drive.

Face Without A Smile

sunset lake

Beautiful Smile

Sometimes we have days when we don’t feel like smiling, sometimes that’s just the way we feel and sometimes there is a person out there who just wants to hold our hand, give us love and help that smile to return.  The poem below is just about that.  May you put a beautiful smile on someone’s face today, maybe just maybe they need it.  Lots of love, Clarabelle.

Face Without A Smile

I see your face, without a smile
Saddened eyes, tears for a while
I feel your hurt, I feel your pain
I know your heart, is hurt again
I want to help, I want you to know
I will share my smile, until you glow
I will give my soul, and all its strength
To see you grow, beyond arms length
To see the sparkle, in your eyes
To watch you glisten, with surprise
I will give you my love, and affection too
To show you I care, I really do
Remember me, when times are tough
I am always here, throughout the rough
Lean on me, for I am strong
My shoulder is waiting, where you belong
Today I give, what I have been given
Your inner strength, it’s in me living
For once I felt, just like you
And you were there, tying my shoe
You gave me hope, to carry on
You helped me through, your spirit shone
We have faced troubles,at different times
But what’s mine is yours, and yours is mine
Together we will fight, together we will win
In the darkness, our lights shine brighter from within

I took this photograph for you the other day of a spider’s web in the rain.  When I showed the photograph to my 2 year old niece Carmen, she shouted out with beautiful happiness “Bubbles”.  I thought this was so cute and beautiful and it inspired the quote that I wrote to go along with the image.  May you stay beautiful and bubbly wherever you are in the world today.  Lots of love Clarabelle.

What is Happy Ever After?

True Happiness

I believe “Happy Ever After” has nothing to do with the “after”, I believe it is in the now, right at this very moment, because this moment, right now, is always we have.  I created a poem this evening about “What is Happy Ever After?” and I also recited it on Youtube for you.  I hope you like it.  May this moment, right now in your life, fill you with true happiness, lots of love Clarabelle.

What is Happy Ever After?

Peace from within, joyful inside,
Gratefulness in the moment, being your guide.

The brightest star, shining on you,
The rainbow smiling, on what you do.

The deepest love, you ever could feel,
Hugging each other, on the family and friends wheel.

A kiss, a cuddle, a warm embrace,
Being in the now, no happiness to chase.

Calmness in the soul, free from stress,
Creating space, living with less.

So on this journey of life, enjoy the laughter,
This is my answer to, “What is Happy Ever After?”

Take the Happiness Test

The Science of Happiness

Watch this short Youtube video, it touched my heart because I know the power gratitude has and this experiment reveals that and little bit more.  Maybe it will inspire you to “Make the Call”  when you answer the question:

“What person has made the biggest impact on your life?”

A Heart of Gratitude

Anything is Possible

Have a heart of gratitude today, count your many blessings and feel the warmth of gratitude breathe inside of you, nourishing your every cell.  Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was “THANK YOU” that would be suffice.” Meister Eckhart (c. 1260-c. 1328)

What are you grateful for today?

Balloch, Scotland
Balloch, Scotland, 23 August 2013

When you are feeling the power of gratitude from within you are putting good energy into your body and also sending out good vibes into the Universe. Please take a moment to answer this question:

What are you truly grateful for today?

I am grateful for living in Scotland, I love the beautiful landscape, the “4 seasons in one day” Scottish weather 🙂 and the Scottish people.  I love living in Scotland, I really do and the more spiritually aware I am becoming, the more I really appreciate its beauty.

This doesn’t mean I want to live here forever, I do actually believe I will move out of Scotland in the near future, but it just means I am really grateful for Scotland in the “here and now”.

Thank you Bonny Scotland, you truly are very Bonny indeed.

May you bask in the beauty of gratitude today, wherever you are in the world.

Lots of love to you, Clarabelle

Where does happiness come from?

sunset lake

Happiness

A few years ago I always used to say this quote to people, “It doesn’t matter where you are but who you are with that matters.”  Yes, I do feel partly true but as I have become more spiritually aware and grown as a person I would now change that quote to this:

“It doesn’t matter where you are or who you are with, it matters how you are feeling.”

One for you to think about today.

Happiness comes from within and if you are in a super grumpy mood or feeling really low it will not matter where you are or who you are with, it will not change your experience until you change your thinking from within, which then in turn will change how you feel and what you do.  Remember this THINK, FEEL, DO in that order.

Wishing you a beautiful day today and I do hope you are feeling positive and uplifted and if you are then I guess you are thinking that way.  🙂

Much love to you Clarabelle

Snap Happy

Balmaha Bay

Today I am going to go on a day trip to Balmaha Bay, Balloch, Scotland with my mum and during that trip I am going to be “snap happy” as I will be taking some beautiful photos for my new eBook that’s coming out, “It’s All About Gratitude”.  I am excited about doing this and it will also be really lovely to spend a day with my mum.

I love Balmaha Bay, for me it is a place of deep beauty and peaceful tranquility and sometimes this is just what the doctor ordered.  🙂

In 2011 I wrote a poem about Balmaha, I have already shared it on this blog before, but here it is again, just in case you missed it first time round:

Balmaha Lake
A frozen Balmaha Lake January 2011

Sweet Balmaha Bay

Balmaha, an inspiring place,
Oh how I love, your beautiful face.
The silent lake, speaks many words,
A magical paradise, beneath the flight of birds.
My soul’s at home, when I visit you,
I feel at one, below the sky so blue.
As I tie a yellow ribbon, around the old oak tree,
I appreciate your world, for all to see.
The air is clean, fresh and new,
The shimmering sunlight, makes a stunning view.
And the many boats, who sail in leisure,
Uplifting spirits, you provide great pleasure.
In hail or rain, sunshine or snow,
Your tranquil beauty, will always show.
For the depths of your heart, are in everyone,
Sweet Balmaha Bay under the horizon sun.

 Poem By Clarabelle, 2011

Wherever you go today and whatever you do, I do hope it brings you sweet happiness and fulfillment, much love to you Clarabelle.  🙂

What mood are you in today?

After the storm

Think Feel Do

I want you to think about this, how do you usually respond to the people and circumstances around you when you are in a low mood? Chances are if you’re anything like me, not very positively. Wouldn’t it be best then to wait until your mood changes to a much more positive mood before you respond to situations. Yes, I know you can’t wait forever because this is life and you will want to be getting on with things, but if you take ‘time’ out of the equation and focus more on changing your thinking about the situation then ‘time’ will not be the main issue……you just have to change your thinking. You see it’s all really about THINK, FEEL, DO – let me explain. Your thinking comes first, which then determines how you feel which is then followed by what you do, so if you don’t like what you’re doing or how you’re feeling change the way you think.

High Mood

I want to encourage you to really think about what you’re thinking before you respond to anything in your life. When you are in a high mood you will be thinking good thoughts and good feelings and behaviour will follow. When you are in a high mood you are much better equipped to tap into your true wisdom and you will find it much easier to come up with the solution to any problems you have.

Hopefully this post will give you some food for thought.

“When you’re in a high mood, life looks good. You have perspective and common sense.” (Richard Carlson)

I encourage you today to think your way out of a low mood and into a high mood, then respond to what needs done, I am sure you will get much better results all round.

Lots of love to you today, as always, Clarabelle.

Happy Child

Carfin Village Gala Week
Clarabelle Age 7, Carfin Village Gala Week

I was such a happy child, I honestly had a fabulous childhood it was so much fun, adventurous, exciting and full of imagination.  I had lots of friends and most of the time we made up our own entertainment.  We used our imagination to make up dances and songs, we played at football rounders, kick-the-can, hide and seek, beds (hopscotch), races, treasure hunt, lee voy, relay races, obstacles courses, we would climb up trees and make up hidden camps in the park.  I am smiling now because my childhood was so so so so happy and I am very proud to say that I am still very close with some of those very special childhood friends almost 35 years later.

Clarabelle and her Brother

As a child I always remember being full of dreams and excited ambition, although it was probably portrayed as being too far fetched and a little ‘show off’ at times.  I never interpreted it as that myself, I was just so happy and wanted to display my happiness to others, I suppose I wanted them to share my happiness too.

My mum said to me that her memory of me as a child was that I was always singing, she said I would sing from the moment I woke up until I went to bed.  The funny thing is I forgot I did that until my mum reminded me of it a couple of years ago.   I forgot that I used to do that as a child and I guess I forgot what it was to be that child again singing, dancing and living in a very free-spirited way.  However I am finding that the more I understand who I am as a person the more I am becoming that happy spirited child again, the person that I always was but somehow got lost along the way.

At this moment in time, on my journey of life, I am really happy, I feel free-spirited, creative and mesmerised by the beauty in this world. It’s like I am seeing the world again through my childlike eyes, like when I was 7 years old again.

Clarabelle Age 11

As a child I loved things like catching my reflection in puddles on a rainy day, gazing up at the stars at night, staring at a summer nights sky and being wondered by all the magical colours and different shapes of clouds.  I loved making daisy chains and I would look endlessly at each petal on the daisy, really feeling and smelling its fresh air scent.  I loved the great outdoors and just being free, I guess just being me, living in each very moment and seeing each and everything around me as magical.

Now I know why I was a happy child.  🙂 🙂 🙂

May your day today be filled with magical childlike moments that allow you to see the beauty in everything around you.  Lots and lots of love to you today, Clarabelle

Be Happy

I am so happy, life is so good
Spirits high, upbeat mood
All is well, all seems right
Stars shine, on me each night
My life is amazing, wonderful and true
My life is abundant, I want this for you
I want you to know, you have the power
To achieve your wishes, in this very hour
Start with your thoughts, keep a positive mind
Marry them with great feelings, treasures you’ll find
Like attracts like, remember this today
Be happy, stay strong, your happy life’s on its way.

You Can Be Happy No Matter What

You Can Be Happy No Matter What

Bargain Price

A few weeks ago I was rummaging through the sale shelves of the local library and bought this book “You Can Be Happy No Matter What”, by Richard Carlson, at the bargain price of 20 pence.  I have just started reading it tonight and I think it is really great.  I am very familiar with a lot of the contents in the book but it really is great to have a refresher on it from a different author.  Below are some amazing quotes from the book and I do hope it connects with you in some way as they did me.  🙂

  • “Life is not your enemy, but your thinking can be.”
  • “When we feel better we have more access to our own wisdom and common sense.  We tend to be less reactive, defensive, and critical; we make better decisions and we communicate more effectively.”
  • “It is our ‘transmitter’ mind, not our computer mind, that is the source of our contentment, joy and wisdom.”
  • “The ‘transmitter’ is the part that deals with matters of the heart.”
  • “New answers don’t come from what you already know in the computer part of your brain.  They come from change of heart, from seeing life differently, from the unknown, quieter part of yourself.

Meant to Be

This book happened to fall off my bookshelf tonight, it is as if I was meant to read it and share the learning with you in this blog post.  I am only on the third chapter so I am sure I will blog about the learnings from it some more.

What books do you have on your bookshelf that deserve a first or second look, it might just be the book you need to read right now?

Lots of love to you today, as always Clarabelle

August – Question of the Month

clarabelle-cartoon-character.png

At the beginning of every month I give you a question to ponder and considering answering for yourself and I also share my own answer with you.  Below is this month’s question:

Question:

When was the last time you laughed and I mean like a good old “belly laugh”?

My Answer:

I honestly do laugh every day, however the last time I remember having a good old “belly laugh” was when I visited my mum recently for a cup of tea, we were having a nice chat and she said something that surprised me, it was so unexpected I could not stop laughing and because I was laughing so much she couldn’t stop laughing either.  I am even laughing thinking about it now.

Life can be oh too serious at times and sometimes you just need to laugh out loud, go on have a laugh with your friends today, watch a funny movie or listen to your favourite comedian, whatever it is just you make sure you laugh then I know you will feel amazing.

May this month of August be filled with sweet laughter for you.

Just Smile

Rainbow

A smile can bring comfort to the deepest pain and a smile will warm your heart until full happiness returns again. This next poem is just for you……”Just Smile”.  I wish you a day filled with rainbows and smiles.  Love Clarabelle

Just Smile

When times are tough and you’re feeling rough
Just smile
When thunder roars and the rain pours
Just smile
When happiness goes and the wild wind blows
Just smile
When you’re lost in the crowd and don’t feel proud
Just smile
When hope departs and there’s broken hearts
Just smile
When the bee stings and no one sings
Just smile
When darkness falls and there’s only brick walls
Just smile
When you want to be you, when you want to be true
Just smile
When you smile, you bring love and light
Smile with your heart, win the fight

What do you do?

What do you do?

Sometimes when we are going through the deepest of pain, your best creative work can be produced.  Right now this hurts, it is a live experience for me, however, I have an unbelieveable amount of inner strength, I express what I feel and I become stronger.  We live, we love, we loss – we give, we love, we gain.  I hope you enjoy this next poem, love Clarabelle.

What do you do?

What do you do, when faced with deep pain?
Emotional hell, love lost again.
What do you do, when all trust has gone?
Before you thought of someone, from dusk till dawn.
What do you do, when your heart is so sad?
You want to hold on, but that would be bad.
What do you do, in the midst of it all?
You build up more barriers, to create a brick wall.

Let me tell you, when tears they do fall,
There is a reason, for you to stand tall.
Life is not easy, love can turn cold,
Be confident in your soul, be bright, be bold
Nothing can break you, nothing at all,
This sadness is temporary, hear my call.
A new love will come, and shine like a star,
Reaching out to you, so special you are.

Keep your self-love, respect all of you,
A passionate heart, will always break through.
Love grows from within, it travels afar,
Needing no transport, train, plane or car.
Your love is pure, gentle and true,
It will always find, the right person for you.
So smile in the morning, wipe away the tears,
A new love will be born, staying with you for years.

The Magical Power of Thank You

Gratitude has such a magical power, it is more powerful than you could ever imagine, it has the power to change you from within and in doing so change the environment around you. Feel very blessed for everything you have in your life right now, deliberately be grateful for it all, you will then know what I am talking about because you too will be holding the magic in your heart.

I am forever grateful to you for reading these posts and joining me on the path of gratitude.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Lots of love Clarabelle 🙂

The Zig Zag Way of Life

sunset

Sometimes when I am out running it feels like a kind of meditation, it really does, I feel I can really get to the core of my own wisdom and truth about life.  Today, when I was out running I was thinking about this:

“In my experience, life goals are rarely achieved by only going in a straight line, because the experience of life is not straight, it is much more fluid and free-flowing than that.  Sometimes in life we have to embrace the challenge of not always stepping forwards or even backwards for that matter, in a straight line.  Sometimes we have to take zig-zag steps to the left and to the right, to truly experience and embrace life for what it really is.  I believe that , life is not a straight line…..on your journey today, think about taking “The Zig-Zag Way of Life“.

Much love to you today, I’m zig-zagging all the way to my goals,  Clarabelle 🙂

Me and My Heart

Love heart

You have a good heart, remember that and it is always with you.   This next poem is inspired by just that.  Have a lovely day with your heart today, Clarabelle

Me and My Heart

Me and My Heart, we travel together;
No matter what time, no matter the weather.
We are strong in the sunshine, stronger in the rain,
When we laugh out loud, we are free from pain.
Sometimes we are heavy, closed off to it all;
Sometimes we are happy, having a ball.
But one thing’s for sure, I’ll never change mine;
For me and my heart, we’re simply divine.

Sunshine

I am currently on holiday right now, so that is why I have not posted for a few days. I want you to know that I have been thinking about you and I have some great posts to follow soon, when I come back. Here is a short quote from me to you,

“The sun is always shining in your heart, let your inner rays warmth the soul of another, be bright, light and glow forever.”

Love to you from the Island of Ibiza, Clarabelle

Love Does Not Look Back

Love heart

I was at my cousin’s very beautiful wedding on Friday, it was such a glorious day and I could really feel love’s energy in the air, it was like being constantly cuddled by someone you love.

The wedding ceremony was so very special and the wedding party looked stunning.  The Pastor who married the couple did a sermon at the end of the service and it was based around the theme of ‘love’ and I loved what he said.  During his sermon he said “love does not look back” and then he went on to talk about what that actually means in a relationship.  It really did make me think and I believe that I was meant to be there that day and to hear that message.

Friday was definitely a day filled with love and it was so lovely to be around.  I want you to really think about what that statement means for you today and how you can apply that to your life right now in such a positive way, I know I did and I will hold on to this beautiful message forever.

Much love to you today, as always,  Clarabelle
