We all need a little bit of motivation from time to time and I often feel it is most welcomed at the beginning of a New Year. I received one of the biggest compliments ever recently from my friend. We were getting the bus down to Manchester City Centre to celebrate the New Year and she told me she really liked one of my original songs, “In Time We Heal”, then, to my wonderful surprise, she started singing it and she knew the words….wow I was so chuffed. She said to me that she really liked the song and played and sang along to it many many times. Well, I was blown away with delight, that was such an unexpected thing to hear because I had no idea she listened to my stuff. Her telling me that really made my day, as a matter of fact it made my whole trip.
I am really excited because I head to the professional recording studio for the first time on 8th January to record 7 of my original songs for an EP (Extended Play), so soon you will hear them on this blog. The song “In Time We Heal” is about going through tough times in life but overcoming them in the end and I am sure we can all relate to this. All my songs are based on my own experiences or experiences of people very close to me, I think that is why people are connecting with them so much.

Welcome to today’s post where I pose a question for you to think about and answer for yourself – I also provide you with my own answer.
This month’s question for you to reflect on is:
When you’re feeling a little low, what one thing can you think about that will instantly uplift your mood?
There is one little sweet memory that always makes me smile and instantly uplifts my mood, it’s when I think of my little 2 year old niece Carmen, I just love her, she is so cute and has this beautiful little smile. I specifically think of a time when she was sitting in her mum’s car and I turned up unexpectedly….she shouted “Auntie Claire” and gave the biggest smile ever, I just knew she was so happy to see me…..it felt so loving and wonderful. So if life is ever getting to me, I just think of her, in that moment, smiling at me. Even right now I am much happier for thinking about it.
My friend Sharon and I were have a deep and meaningful discussion the other day and we were talking about having different experiences. She shared a good analogy of her own which was, if you buy a bag of apples and the first apple you pick out is bad you don’t throw the whole bag away – do you??? I think that’s a good analogy of life, just because you have had one bad experience with someone or something, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will always have that bad experience with another, as a matter of fact, chances are you will definitely not.
I have another thought on this one, what if you never experienced the bad apple in the first place, would you have missed a vital life lesson??? Sometimes what you perceived to be a bad experience initially, can for the long term turn out to be one of the best lessons in life you have ever learned. Life lessons are for the long term, as long as you remember them and learn from them.
Maybe the perceived bad apple is actually a beautiful Golden Apple in disguise.

I hope you celebrated the birth of this new year in style and whatever that is for you I do hope it was very lovely and wonderful. I was away for a few days with my friend and we had lots of fun, it was really nice to get away.
Before I went away I bought some beautiful flowers….pink and red roses, I nearly didn’t buy them, because I was going away, but I then thought the flowers are not just for me they are for my beautiful little home. That was such a lovely decision that I made because when I arrived home yesterday, I was welcomed to their beautiful fresh scent and opening of the roses flowers, it really did make my heart smile inside.
It reminded me of a quote that my friend sent me this Christmas with my Christmas present of white hanging flowers, on the package she wrote for me “Flowers are the smile of the earth”, how lovely and such a beautiful and touching quote.
Another positive from buying the flowers, when I did, is that it has encouraged me to write this blog post and share it with you……I hope you liked me sharing this story with you.
If, “Flowers are the smile of the earth”, let your heart be the garden for them to grow in.

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 15,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
“I’ll do it tomorrow”, I hear you say……not that I wish you any heartache or misfortune because that is absolutely NOT the point here, but what if tomorrow didn’t come…..what if you were beamed up into a strange distant land today and never had the opportunity to come back to earth again. I would miss you, other people would miss you and who and what would you miss?
We often go through life thinking “I would like to do that” but more often than not, we don’t do anything about it or we’ll say “it can wait”. Don’t over think things, just do, do what you feel, right then, right there in that moment, because as soon as you starting thinking too much, before you know it, you’ve changed your mind and maybe you’ve missed out on the greatest moment of your life, like telling someone “I love you”, you should never think too much about that one.
Please use the last day of this year wisely, let it end with a special loving memory that will live in your heart forever. Do what you need to do, do what you want to do, do that one thing you’ve always desired to do, make a commitment right now to do it…..don’t say “I’ll do it tomorrow”, just do now.
Make this day special, make this day great and please tell me all about it.

A new year is coming, this is a great time for you to decide to make positive changes in your life, you can’t turn the clock back anyway so you might as well look forward to a brighter future where new beginnings meet happy endings.

Just decide, make a plan and do…..go on, do it, I know you want to. Think about how good it will feel when you have achieved it, yes it might be hard work but when you overcome those daily challenges it will uplift your spirits and make you feel great inside. Progress is a wonderful thing, even if it’s just baby steps to achieving a better a life, a better you, when you look back you’ll see how far you have come.
The birth of a new year is a new opportunity to strengthen yourself from within and achieve all that your heart desires.

Only 4 days ago I shared a blog stats post with you, I was so delighted that I reached over 18,000 blog hits. I remember it used to take me over a month to receive over 1000 blog hits and yes, you’ve guessed it, I’ve reached over 19,000 blog hits now. The last 4 days has been amazing for this blog and Christmas Eve was my busiest day ever on this blog to date, with 466 hits, thank YOU so much. I am so amazed by this blog’s progress, I really love posting to this blog and I do hope it shows because I get so much from it and I really hope you do too. Do I hear Santa outside my house?
He’s very noisy, not quiet like a mouse.
I hear his footsteps, in the snow,
I hear him sing, ho, ho, ho.
I hope he thinks, that I’m asleep,
I tried counting sheep, like little Bo’ peep.
But excitement and fun, took over me,
I do love you Santa, please let me see.
I want to give you, a great big hug,
I want to tell you, I’ve left milk in your mug.
I want to sleigh ride, high in the sky,
Waving down at the snowmen, as we pass by.
My dearest Santa, you bring great joy,
To every family, and little girl and boy.
You make me smile, on this Christmas Eve,
Can you stay Santa? Please don’t leave.

8 days ago I shared with you my absolute delight of reaching 17,000 blog hits but I honestly wasn’t expecting to be updating you again today, yes only 8 days later, now celebrating 18,000 + blog hits – wow, I am so amazed!!
This month in December has been particularly successful for blog visitors and views, with the highest ever number of daily, weekly and monthly stats since the blog’s birth in April 2012.
I have noticed that the Search Engines seem to be finding my blog more, which I feel is the biggest reason for the rapid increase and I am so glad people are liking my posts too. This just inspires me even more and more to keep going and sharing meaningful posts with you from my creative spirit, heart and soul.
So I offer up to you a massive thank YOU for being here, it just wouldn’t be the same without YOU.
I have big plans for this Clarabelle Blog and I am so delighted that it is going from strength to strength, for what once started out as a hobby and a “nice thing to do” is evolving into something really magical for me and hopefully for you.

I was at the Post Office this morning posting some Christmas cards and parcels to friends at home and abroad. The person serving at the Post Office Counter, if I’m very honest, is usually almost always “grumpy”, I never really look forward to being served by him. However, this morning was different, today he was smiling, he was chirpy, he was definitely giving off “happy vibes”. I smiled at him as I approached the counter and he happily took all my Christmas cards and parcels, weighed them etc.. and charged for them. I was smiling at him the whole way through being served and saying “thank you”. He was really happy, I could tell, then he said “Can I help you with anything else?”, I said “Yes, I would like to take out £50 from my bank account but only if you have a £50 note”. He smiled and said that they wouldn’t normally have £50 notes but someone had come in earlier today and paid for something with lots of £50 notes. He said therefore he could give me a £50 note and then, to my complete surprise, said he would go through all the £50 notes and give me the BEST, freshest, newest looking one. I didn’t ask him to do that, he offered and I smiled very happily back at him and said “great, thank you so much”.
We had a short little chat about nice new money notes then he gave me my £50 note, smiled, said thank you and wished me a good day. I was blown away, I would never have expected him to say this to me before now, I wished him the best day ever and I hopped happily out of the shop.
I felt so good after that interaction with this person, it just goes to show the difference we can make to another person’s life by just being pleasant, well mannered and giving off “happy vibes”.
Wherever you are in the world today remember the impact you have on others, so please make it a positive one, you just might make someone’s day.

Wow, this is Day 13 already of my Christmas Poems, how quickly time goes by. I share with you today some beautiful Christmas music from Nat King Cole, together with a short Christmas poem below, entitled “Christmas Love”. I was writing out my Christmas Cards this evening and getting into the Christmas Spirit, I really do love this song, “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”. I treated myself to a very cosy pink faux fur hat at the weekend, I saw it, loved it, tried it on, bought it and wore it straight away – “no bag please, I’m just going to wear it”. Below is a recent photo of me in my new winter’s hat.

Christmas is fun,
for everyone.
Smiles in our eyes,
a happy surprise.
A pink fluffy hat,
wear it like that.
A champagne drink,
a mistletoe wink.
Love and joy,
a funny toy.
Christmas is the best,
it beats all the rest.

We must never think that we know it all, never, because just around the corner is always another lesson, yes indeed, here comes another curve ball – oh my where did that come from?
My day to day interaction with people is usually 100% good almost all of the time, mainly because I genuinely do love people and I have a lot of time for them. Recently though, I feel I have slipped up, just a little bit, but it doesn’t matter I have still slipped up, but the good thing is I am fully of aware of it, almost instantly and that I feel is tremendous progress. If I was unaware of it, then that indeed, I believe would be much more dangerous, especially with the job I am in, working with people every day.
Please don’t get me wrong, I have never thought I have known it all, never ever ever so I just want to reiterate that but I guess I have let emotions rule the roost and take over……never a good response that one. I read a quote recently and it said “If you speak when you’re angry, you’ll make the best speech you’ll ever regret” – such wise words and so very true indeed.
So I guess I am owning up to not getting it right all of the time, I guess I really am human after all hahahahahahah. These types of life lessons you cannot learn in a classroom or on a training course, these are the true lessons from life itself – the experiences from the experience of life.
So as I have let my conscience loose into this world i.e. this Blog, it leaves me with a sober thought of, “things can only get better” for indeed I have learned from this and I am getting better. I will continue to develop on this journey of life to reach my Best Ever Self.….some how though, I feel this is a never ending journey – not in a bad way, I believe in such a good way, always learning, always giving and always loving.
So I will leave you with my final thoughts on this one:

I honestly did think about NOT sharing this article with you but then I thought, “it’s my online magazine and I want to be true and authentic to myself”, so that is why I am sharing it.
I would say that I am more of spiritual person these days than deeply religious but I do love to pray everyday. I know prayer isn’t for everyone but I really do believe in the power of prayer. I have the deepest faith and belief that all my prayers are answered, I really do believe that and I have strong evidence of that since I was a child.
My God Mother, Bella, who passed away many years ago, always had the deepest faith in the power of prayer and I guess she passed that on to me, it is only now when I am reflecting on it, I really believe she did, in such a positive way.
I remember when I was a child my Aunt Bella gave me this prayer to read at night, it was a prayer to give me the strength and confidence to do well in my education and studies, I remember I said that prayer every night for years and years, never a night went by without me saying that prayer – I know that prayer helped me do really well at School and University.
I created a new prayer this evening, I was doing my housework earlier and listening to some inspirational videos on YouTube and I just thought to myself, “I want to create a meaningful and heartfelt prayer to say everyday”. This prayer is quite personal to me and I know this prayer will definitely be answered, maybe you will want to say it too, or indeed make up your own special personal prayer.
So I share this prayer with you today, I feel this prayer in my heart, I feel it. I hope you connect with it in some way and if you are supportive of the power of prayer then please feel free to use it and share it with others.
PS. I love you Aunt Bella and I miss your laugh and happy spirit and I know my Mum does too.
Best Ever Self Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for listening to me and thank you for answering this prayer.
I have deep faith in the positive changes that are currently happening to me.
I have true belief in the power of this prayer and the knowing that I am achieving everything that my heart desires.
Thank you for helping me to stay strong, patient, confident, creative, powerful, happy and forever abundant.
Thank you for my heart’s beauty, perfect health, amazing wealth and for giving me the happiest spirit and soul.
I feel very blessed and so grateful for all that I am and for all that I am becoming.
I say this prayer to you today, to offer you my deepest gratitude for helping me to truly help myself turn my life around for the better and for me becoming my Best Ever Self.
Thank you Dear God for answering my prayer today and always.

I love to look out on a Winter’s Day, snow softly falling beneath the soft pink sky and unique tranquility in the air that you can really only feel and not describe with words. This next Christmas poem is inspired by just that. Stay snug and warm this Christmas. Christmas love to you, Clarabelle.
A child in the moment,
I look up to the sky.
A mesmerising pink,
I’m flyng high.
For in this beauty,
everything glowed.
Lost in the tranquility
and then it snowed!!
I run outside,
I wanted to feel.
Snowflakes on my face,
this magic was real.
Whiter than white,
but really not that cold.
Amongst this miracle scenery,
secret dreams I hold.
I look up to the light,
white blobs fall fast.
Connected to the now,
I hope this will last.
And as I close the door,
on this winter wonderland.

I LOVE a wee mince pie at Christmas, funny thing is, when I was a child I never really liked them at all but now I really do. I could go a Christmas mince pie, right now. 🙂 Enjoy the scrumptious festive food this Christmastime and please don’t worry about overindulging, because it’s not what you eat in between Christmas and New Year that matters, it’s what you eat between New Year and Christmas. A very warm Christmas welcome to Day 6 of my Christmas poems leading up to Christmas Day. I do hope you like the next one, it may make you think about the precious love that surrounds you at Christmastime, embrace it with open arms because you are very blessed indeed.
She looked out of the window,
on Christmas Day.
She remembered her past,
a time to pray.
For now she is older,
she is eighty three,
and sits alone,
there’s no “you and me”.
She had a love,
a husband that cared,
They loved Christmas,
everything was shared.
But he passed away,
10 years ago.
She remembers his smile,
and them dancing in the snow.
She isn’t sad,
she doesn’t feel lonely.
She is grateful for this life,
and her one and only.
She misses him much,
he’s always in her thoughts,
On Christmas morn,
He’d say “I love you lots”.
She awaits her carriage,
her wonderful son.
Who is so special,
he looks after his mum.
Today she is part of,
a family filled with joy.
With 4 happy grandchildren,
3 girls and a boy.
She loves them dearly,
they are her life.
A special Gran, a loving mother,
and in her heart a happy wife.
She tells them stories,
of times gone by.
She laughs with her grandchildren,
and enjoys a mince pie.
She feels amazing,
so precious and true,
To my hubby in heaven,
I will always love you.

At the beginning of every month I pose a question for you to think about and answer for yourself. I also provide you with my own answer to this question. Below is this month’s question.
Usually I offer you up a question that relates to moving forward with your life for e.g. making a change or a question that will help you to become more self aware. This month’s question is a little bit more simple (well, for me) 🙂 .
What is your most favourite piece of music or song, right now, in this moment and why?
I really do love lots of songs and music compilations, I have a deep respect and appreciation for music and I really do admire the musical talents of Artists.
The one song that I have been listening to recently and really does inspire me, is a song called “Try” by the Band “The Modern Hearts”. I really LOVE this song, because I can relate to the words, which uplift me, inspire me and awaken my soul inside….to me, this song is quite simply magical and captivating. When I play this song, I want to dance, I just start jumping and moving around on the living room floor like a 2 year old on Christmas Eve excitedly waiting for Santa to arrive. What an amazing impact a song can have on you.
