The Next Step

In relation to my previous posts, you will be aware that I have been working on identifying the core values of this Clarabelle Blog and what each value means to me.  The next step was for me to state the true purpose of this blog and then I will work on identifying the Vision and Mission.  It is important for me to explore, identify and share with you, why I do what I do and the direction this blog is taking.    Below is the PURPOSEof this Clarabelle Blog, I do hope you make a positive connection with it.  Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle.  🙂

Coaching

I was coaching a client in July 2011 and she was talking about not having a TV anymore, there were lots of positives coming from this discussion, so much so that when I went home that evening I didn’t want to have a TV anymore either, so I got rid of it, that very day.

Positives

I must say, this has been one of the best things I ever did and so many positives have come from me not having a TV.  I started to read more books, make more time for exercise, visit people more, talk to friends on the telephone, research into subjects I was interested in, focus more on developing myself and my business and one of the best positives was then having the time to start this Clarabelle blog and post on a regular basis.

Weird

When I made this decision the people around me…

Sometimes when I am in ‘creative thinking’ mode, it is like being in a mesmerized state of mind, where all the dots seem to connect perfectly.  It’s like being lost in my imagination and the rhythm feels just right – hard to explain really.  I distinctively remember creating the poem below, even though, in that moment, I had shut off from the world.  I was in that hypnotic happy state – it was pure escapism for me at the time as I was really unhappy in my job.  This is another poem from the year 1996, which I have now categorised as, ‘Out of my head and into the archives’.  In this fast world, may your day be filled with truth, love and serenity.  Clarabelle

Happiness I Bring

Faster and faster, the world goes by,

Moving unnoticed, until you stop and think, why?

I look up to the clouds…

Sometimes when I look into someone’s eyes, I just know if their soul is truly enlightened with love.  I know they want to be really happy and maybe look happy on the outside but the window to their soul never lies, it’s all about the inside.  I experienced that recently with someone and decided to write this poem for them and send it to them.  I hope you like it.  May your soul be filled with love and light today.  Much love to you Clarabelle.

I see in your eyes, no light or love;

Dead in the moment, but the rainbow is above.

You attract what you become, not just what you’ve got;

I See Myself

I have been thinking about the perfect environment for me going forward in my life.  As much as I really do LOVE the vibrant energy of the city, I now feel that I don’t want that all the time. Lately, I have had this strong inner desire to live in a beach house by the sea. I see myself, waking up there every morning, heading out onto my sea view balcony and being mesmerised by the golden sandy beaches kissing the edge of the clear blue ocean. This is where I will continue to write creatively and meaningfully everyday, my heart and soul is beautifully refreshed by the breath of the sea breeze flowing through my body.

This one thought, this one vision…

Today I finished reading the book, “The Ultimate Happiness Prescription” by Deepak Chopra, in which it gives you 7 keys to joy and enlightenment.  I found this book to be extremely fascinating and truly ‘mind-expanding’ on a much deeper and more personal level.  I just love this quote from the book, “If you focus on the present, your life will be constantly renewed”, this for me is such a refreshing thought.  This next poem is inspired by happiness.  May your day be filled with an abundance of happiness.  Love Clarabelle

I have just finished reading the book ‘The Path to Love’ by Deepak Chopra and I wanted to share with you an enlightening quote from the book, “You know that you have fully experienced love when you turn into love – that is the spiritual goal of life”.  This book has expanded my knowledge and widened by perception of life and love and this next poem is inspired by just that.  Have a lovelyday.

When is depression a disorder?

People feel depressed from time to time. It is usually in relation to a sad or severely disappoining life event. People feel depressed when they go through a partner break up, lose their job or are grieving the death of a loved one.

Normal depression can last for a couple of days to a couple of weeks. People may socialize less and have periods of crying. Often times they will reach out to friends and loved ones, who help them through the hard time.

Emotional / mental conditions become disorders when they start to cause your life to become disorderly, and unmanagable.

Some of the signs that depression may be a disorder include:

1. Inability to maintain a normal, healthy sleep schedule

2. Lack of interest in activities that you used to enjoy.

3. Inability to enjoy simple pleasures such as good tasting food.

New Perspective

It’s nice to meet new people from different backgrounds and different walks of life, for me, it always makes fascinating conversation.  Meeting a new person is like inviting a whole new perspective on the world into your life.  I love meeting new people, I can feel their energy, see their dreams through their eyes and visualise in my imagination the stories of their lives, places they’ve been too, hearts they’ve touched and inspired.  Just through one conversation over a cup of coffee can lighten up your own world, it’s like having new eyes in that very moment.  Hopefully I will get to meet some of you in the future, I don’t know when and I don’t know where but I feel that would be wonderful to happen.

Today, I encourage you to meet a new person or talk to someone you’ve never spoken to before. Embrace the magic…

Giving Off Happy Vibes

I was at the Post Office this morning posting some Christmas cards and parcels to friends at home and abroad.  The person serving at the Post Office Counter, if I’m very honest, is usually almost always “grumpy”, I never really look forward to being served by him. However, this morning was different, today he was smiling, he was chirpy, he was definitely giving off “happy vibes”.  I smiled at him as I approached the counter and he happily took all my Christmas cards and parcels, weighed them etc.. and charged for them.  I was smiling at him the whole way through being served and saying “thank you”. He was really happy, I could tell, then he said “Can I help you with anything else?”, I said “Yes, I would like to take out £50 from my bank account but only if you have a…

One of the things in life that motivates my spirit, is when I hear uplifting, heartfelt, soul touching music, it makes such a special connection within.  The strange thing is, I forgot about this for a while, I didn’t listen to the sounds that made me come alive……I have now discovered that again and every morning it is now part of my early wake up call.  This next poem is for you – have a magical musical day.

I rarely post “braggy” things, but as I did once before I want to share a short video of my younger daughter singing a portion of “On My Own” from Les Miserables at the conclusion of a “Broadway Camp” that she attended, taught by Broadway professionals, this past week. That’s why she’s not in costume or otherwise “in character”.

My daughter is 14 and was the youngest participant, but she got so much from the program. And yes, I’m her mom, but even if I wasn’t, I’d love the maturity and tone of her voice. She’s really a soprano (I’ll do another short video of her singing in some of those ranges later this week) but you’d never know it from this performance.

Thanks for letting me indulge in these occasional “mother” moments. 🙂 And if you decide to click and listen, I hope you enjoy.

“How are you today?”, A simple question that speaks volumes but how often do you ask someone that question?  I received a phone call this morning from a research company and the young gentleman calling asked me, how I was doing today, I very kindly responded and asked him the same question, he was so surprised that I showed an interest in him, he said he had made thousands of calls like this and no one had ever asked him that question back. . . . it does make you think!!  It certainly made his day because he told me so and it made me feel good also.  May I encourage you today to go out of your way and show a genuine interest in others by asking them “How are you today?”.  I do hope you are very well. It’s Okay To Feel Vulnerable

One of my coping mechanisms for releasing frustrations is to write poetry from my heart and soul.  This next poem was created at a time when I was feeling a little stressed out and frustrated with myself and I know we’ve all been there, sometimes too often!!  The purpose of me sharing this with you is because I feel through my own creative self-expression, there is much encouragement, support and positivity shining through, which may help you if you’re going through a similar experience right now.  I want you to know that it is okay to feel vulnerable at times, actually, I believe now that showing vulnerability is often a real strength of integrity and authenticity.  Give yourself permission to be who you really are, silence the overwhelmed mind and follow your heart.  May you take comfort and courage from the following verse.  Much love…

Respond with Love

I often feel that when I don’t act with love it puts me out of balance, let me give you an example.  Recently I received a message from someone, which I didn’t like the tone of, I waited for a little while before I responded, but still feel I was reacting to the emotion I was feeling rather than responding to the situation.  I feel this upset my equilibrium and for the next 36 hours it certainly did.  I knew the only way to put myself back into balance, was to see the situation for what it was and not worse than it was.  By doing this, I let go of unnecessary frustrations, this then opened up my heart and I instantly apologised for my poor response at that time.  What did I learn from this situation?  Most definitely, to never fight fire with fire and always…

I feel the earth shift under my feet

Start Up

I started this blog up in April 2012 to originally share my own poetry with you.  I remember looking at all the hundreds of poems I had written but had never really shared them with anyone, hence the idea for the blog came about.

It’s quite funny because this blog wasn’t planned, it wasn’t on my list of things to achieve and wasn’t a specific goal I set out to do at the beginning of year.  It was something that just came over me that day, I remember having a quiet solitude moment to myself and in popped the idea.

I had started a blog prior to this one in 2009 which related to my Murray People Coaching Business but I wasn’t consistent with my blog posts and therefore that blog then became redundant.

But…. and I mean a BIG BUT HERE, there is…

Life can be scary sometimes, a bit like the first time you hear the huge roar of thunder in the stormy skies.  Think about this though, thunder never lasts that long, it soon passes and usually what comes after it is a feeling of pure calmness and lightness in the air. If it feels like it is thundering in your life right now, I want you to hold onto the thought that underneath all that darkness and noise is a beautiful bright sunny day filled with happiness and joy for you.  It is there now……I see it and I hope you can see it in your mind and feel it in your heart too.  This next poem inspired by just that.

I Know You’re Scared

I know you’re scared,
I see it in your eyes.
I hear you tremble,
Like thunder in the skies.

I had the most amazing childhood, it was full of fun, adventure and magical spirit.  I was surrounded by an abundance of friends, love and laughter….I hold these special memories very close to my heart, they are locked in my soul forever…..we will never be apart!!  This next poem is inspired by my childhood dreams and those treasured times of the past that have shaped who I am today.  If I ever feel I have travelled afar from who I really am, I think of those rainbow days and those long summer sunsets, where I danced in the wind, laughed in the rain and played with love in my heart, every moment of every day.  I wish you a day filled with a childlike free spirit that makes you feel so very happy inside.  I am smiling now, I do hope you are.  Love, Clarabelle

Motivational Poem

I once read somewhere that motivation is like showering, you need it everyday.  I can honestly say that I do listen to a little bit of motivation every day, normally first thing when I wake up – it’s a great way to start the day.  Below is a motivational poem I created for you, I hope it gives you that little nudge that you need to get going today.  Lots of love Clarabelle.
