Personal Evolution

This is a blog post from an old blog of mine, I wrote this post in April 2010, 2 years prior to me starting this poetry blog.  I thought I would share this with you because it is amazing how life evolves as we grow and develop.  If someone had told me back then that I would now have a poetry blog and was so commited and passionate about it, I would never have believed them…..my creative writing desires are stronger than ever.  We are all on a journey of personal evolution, much of this will be invisible for you right now, who knows what great things you will be part of in a few years from now.  Much love to you today.  Clarabelle

Personal Evolution
Personal Evolution
Below is that original post from April 2010:
I absolutely LOVE my job but it wasn’t an easy job getting here—it took me 36 years of learning, being, doing, hoping, having, not having, feeling and experiencing the highs and lows of real life and work. It is only now that I feel wise enough and knowledgeable enough to share this experiential learning.

When I Grow UP I want to be…..
From the age of 5—15 years I went through different phases of wanting to be a Mum, Air Steward, Dancer, Model, Nun, Song Writer (I had a real desire to write the winning Eurovision song – still do!!), Primary School Teacher, Nursery Nurse and a Secretary. So where did my early career ideas come from, maybe………
Mum: Watching my mum lovingly support and care for our family; wanting to be just like my mum and also being the proud owner of various dolls such as (in its day) the famous ’Tiny Tears’.
Air Steward: Wanting a ‘glamorous’ lifestyle (perceived) and the opportunity to travel all over the world, maybe even marry a pilot!! I also think the popular TV advert for Caledonian Airlines had a big influence….I remember wanting to be a ‘Caledonian Girl’.
Dancer: I was a massive fan of the hit TV Programme ’Fame’ and loved dancing from an early age – still do 🙂
Model: Watching Miss World on TV and aspiring to be like one of these beautiful woman. I wanted to wear that crown!!!
Nun: There was a real religious influence here from my childhood days, in particular at Primary School and I went through a really ’holy’ stage—that was until I discovered my like for boys!!
Songwriter: I used to lock myself in my bedroom for hours and make up songs, I would practice and practice them all day long and never got bored of it—this was a perfect escapism for me at such a young age. To this very day I still remember the songs and so do my closet friends. We often burst into these songs after a few wines!!
Primary School Teacher: I used to babysit for my next door neighbour when I was in my early teens—I loved watching their 3 kids, probably because I could be a ‘big kid’ myself. This inspired me to want to teach young children to learn and develop—I then found out that I would need to study for a further 5 years after Secondary School and this sadly (at the time) put me off.
Nursery Nurse: Again my love for children and helping them to learn and have fun. My Guidance Teacher at Secondary School totally put me off the idea “that’s not the career for you he said, that’s not a good job”. How easily influenced I was as a teenager.
Secretary: Well I figured I would go with the safe bet and be a secretary, after all I was good at typing, passed all my Secretarial Studies exams with flying colours and oh yes my mum did that when she left school and she told me fabulous stories about her career in this field. That was it at the age of 15 I aspired to be a secretary. Well there was nothing else, was there……???
My Career Path
So I finally had come to the idea that I would be a Secretary. So I went to typing College to learn how to touch-type—this proved to be a very worthwhile skill to have during all my future jobs. What where they? Well, my career experience consists of:
Shop assistant, sales representative, hotel waitress, 20 years of various office type jobs from receptionist through to human resource management. A couple of these jobs which I liked and some others I have quite closely hated.
An Independent Decision
Then at the age of 34 I decided to think very carefully about my future career and where it was heading. Why then? Well lots of reasons I believe, but I think coming out of some personal turmoil combined with some major achievements made me a much stronger person with a really determined ‘can do’ attitude.
This included personal triumphs and goals such as Graduating from University in 2005 in Personnel Practice, running the New York marathon in 2007 (I then later did the London Marathon in 2010) and Graduating again from University in 2008 in Human Resource Management. It was in 2006/7 when I seriously reflected on my future and felt much more equipped to correctly answer the following question…….
So what do I really want to do when I grow up?
To answer this, I identified my core values and what they meant to me, I looked at what job activities I particularly enjoyed doing, I thought about what are my strengths, what was I truly passionate about doing, what excites me in life, where did I want to see myself 5-20 years from now and the ultimate question:  How was I going to get there?
I had a real belief and confidence in myself and I knew I wanted to have the freedom to explore new territories, learn new things and meet new people. I knew that I wanted to help other people achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations in life.  I wanted to coach and mentor people to do just that, I got excited about the thought of it and felt strongly passionate about it. I was truly ready for this and felt fully motivated and inspired to do so.
What did I do?
I researched into Coaching, I wrote to no less then 200 practicing coaches in America asking for their advice, I then went to New York and met some of those coaches, left my full-time job as Human Resource Manager, studied for a further year and achieved a Diploma in Coaching at Distinction level (94%), started up my own business at the end of 2008 and that’s where I am at the moment. I have BIG plans for the business and I know that I will only achieve this through hard work and commitment. To be honest, at times it feels like starting all over again—to what it was like over 20 years ago.
What have been the best parts of my job so far?
Most definitely supporting and empowering other people to achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations in life. Almost 90% of my work to date has been career/business/leadership goals related and with my Human Resource Management background and sound coaching and mentoring experience—it works very well and benefits my clients greatly.
Also being my own boss and having the freedom to use my creativity and innovation to lead the business into great things that will inspire others to achieve great things for themselves.
Personal Learning
I have learned so much over the last 17 months of my business (to date almost  5 years!!) and I feel very proud to say that I have video blogged my real time journey all along the way. My vision is that one day it will be professionally edited and shared with you at home in the format of a short film/documentary.

But………what about being a Songwriter?
Hey, I can still do that, my career ain’t over yet, it is just at the beginning—the true beginning.

Natural Flow

When I am out running, I often feel like I fall into some sort of hypnotic or meditative state, it’s hard to explain and put into words but whilst out running today I was thinking about it.  Sometimes my runs are easy, free-flowing, effortless and natural (like yesterday) and sometimes my runs feel really tough (like today).  Whilst out running this morning I was thinking about, what makes the difference in me? I know that when my mind is busy, like today, my runs are tougher and when my mind is silent, it feels like, as the runner, I become the run.  This then got me thinking about other things that would also apply to, i.e. the lover becomes the love, the singer becomes the song etc.. etc..  Which inspired this next poem.  Whatever you do today, may it feel natural, loving and in spirit.  Love Clarabelle

Natural Flow
Natural Flow

Natural Flow

The runner becomes the run;

The laughter becomes the fun.

The walker becomes the walk;

The talker becomes the talk.

This is what I know;

This is natural flow.

***

The lover becomes the love;

The rain flows from the cloud above.

The singer becomes the song;

Solitude is where I belong.

This is what I feel;

This for me is real.

***

The artist becomes the art;

True spirit flows from your heart.

The swimmer becomes the sea;

Creative flow comes from feeling free.

This for me is true;

I believe for me and you.

***

This poem is part of the poet;

A gift and how I know it.

Be Love

The late, Mr Stephen R. Covey shares in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, that love is a doing word not a feeling.  This inspired my next inspirational quote for you…..just do love!!  Clarabelle

Be love
Be love

“Be love,

Do love,

Have Love.”

(Clarabelle)

The Sound of my Heart

The heart doesn’t just beat, it dances, it sings, it smiles, it listens, it guides and nurtures too, and if you listen deeply to the music it plays, it will nourish your soul forever.  For indeed the heart is like a full orchestra creating unique musical vibrations that can only be understood by you, that is why it is so important to silence your mind and listen to your heart.  Dance to the sound of your inner music, this next inspirational quote is for you.  Love Clarabelle.

Listen to your heart
Listen to your heart

“Listen to the sound of my heart,

for each note that it plays,

strengthens my love for you.”

(Clarabelle)

Love Stirs Your Soul

The beauty of love is all around us, sometimes we don’t see it, sometimes we forget it is always there, deep inside of us, blooming like a flower in springtime.  Every time you smile, love was there first, just remember that, I know you are smiling now.  This next inspirational quote is for you…feel the love, Clarabelle.

Love stirs your soul
Love stirs your soul

“Love stirs your soul

and makes your heart smile inside.”

(Clarabelle)

Angels Come Disguised in Many Situations

I Discovered My Purse Had Been Stolen

I want to share something with you today, as I reflect upon the events of my weekend. Everything was going swimmingly well until I discovered my purse had been stolen.  I was meeting a friend for coffee in a Hotel in Glasgow, paid for my coffee and by the time I was leaving the hotel, the purse was gone.  I wasn’t really bothered about the money in the purse, it was only loose change anyway, however I was more sad about losing the sentimental things that were in it, such as little prayers, a poem from my sister which I had for 13 years, photographs of my niece and nephew, photograph of my dad which I have held close to me since 1997, a little medal that my best friend gave to me in 2007 to keep me safe when I was running my first marathon in New York City and lots of beautiful things like that.  Also the purse which was a special gift given to me by another very close friend. I must admit I was feeling very sad and I allowed it to affect the rest of my day.  I also felt a little downhearted that the purse didn’t show up, I really thought that if found in the hotel, someone would have handed it in…..no such luck, I’m afraid.  I must admit my faith in humanity did sink a little, I guess because that is where my focus was at that time.

A Different Frame of Mind

However, today, I am of a very different frame of mind, after reporting the purse missing to the Police and to the Hotel, I was told of many stories were items of real financial value had been handed in, such as rolls of money containing thousands of pounds, iPads, mobile phones, bags, suitcases, bags of money etc….I smiled, my faith was restored because I had replaced my one bad experience with many wonderful stories where people have been honest and returned the items they found.

The Real Truth

I will never again doubt the honesty and integrity of humanity, because I know there is much more goodness in the world than not….we just don’t always hear about it and therefore don’t include it in our frame of reference.  When we look at the world only through our own lens, we are in danger of excluding the real truth….that is, what could be and what is possible for each and every one of us.  I take full responsibility for what happened to me on Saturday afternoon and it has taught me many lessons which I am very grateful for.

A Very Special Thank You

I would like to also offer a very special thank you to the staff members at the multi-story car park in Concert Square, Glasgow City Centre, they were so supportive when I told them I didn’t have my parking ticket (which was in my purse) and had no money to pay for the parking, they were very understanding and let me leave the car park for free.

Angels

I think Angels come disguised in many situations and it is not until after the event that we realised they touched our heart and soul.  May you open your eyes to the goodness that is in the world today, look out for the success stories of kindness, love and encouragement and let them uplift your spirits today.  Much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle

A Vision of Love

This photograph below was taken on a beautiful winter’s day in Bonny Scotland, a stunning little place called Balmaha.  It inspired this next inspirational quote.  May you open your heart today and see an inspirational vision of love right there in front of you.  Clarabelle

Balmaha, Scotland
A Winter’s Day in Balmaha, Scotland

“Love has endless beauty,

like the sun shining on a winter’s day.”

(Clarabelle)

True Beauty

The “roots determine the fruits”, what does this mean?  It means that if you work on the root of a problem rather than the symptom you can create everlasting change.  Nourish the root with love, that’s what my next inspirational quote for you is all about.  May your day be filled with love and encouragement, Clarabelle.

Nourish it with Love
Nourish it with Love

“True beauty is within the seed,

nourish it with love,

and then love will grow.”

(Clarabelle)

Magic is in You

You are the miracle of your life, you are the magic, welcome it with open arms, embrace each moment as an opportunity to be a better version of you.  This next inspirational quote by me is all about that.  Wishing you a magical day, love Clarabelle.

Magic is in You
Magic is in You

“The silent lake speaks many words,

true magic comes from within you.”

(Clarabelle)

Opportunity is Now

Every moment is a moment to change for the better, that is what this inspirational quote by me is about.  Don’t wait for opportunities to knock on you door, go out create opportunities for yourself, make it happen, just do it!!  You owe it to yourself to step outside of your comfort zone and move into your stretch zone, go on do it now because opportunity is indeed NOW!!  Lots of love to you, Clarabelle

Opportunity is Now
Opportunity is Now

“Seize, the day,

Seize the hour,

Seize the moment……

Opportunity is NOW!”

(Clarabelle)

Change is Opportunity NOW

Go Get It!!

This is a post I wrote for another business blog in 2011, I came across it today and thought I would share it with you, there may be some value in it for you and please feel free to share away.  I wish you a day filled with opportunities for the taking, it’s your life, go get it!!  Clarabelle.

Change is Opportunity Now
Change is Opportunity Now

An Exciting Challenge

I was on the phone to my business partner Debbie and we were talking about ‘change’, for me ‘change is opportunity’.  Why do I say this?  Well as much as some of us might dread the thought of change, I absolutely love it and find it an exciting challenge.  I don’t want to sit in my ‘comfort zone’ all my life, it is important for me to get out there, embrace new challenges and live life.  If I fail, well I feel I have only learned some great lessons that will strengthen me as a person.

I was sent this wonderful quote last night by my friend Stephen, “if we never fail at anything we are not being adventurous enough” by Peter Huntley, MD of Go North East buses, what a truly wonderful quote that is.  I would rather try and fail 1000 times than not try at all.  Determination, persistence, passion, consistency, self-discipline and never giving up is the qualities that I feel will get me everywhere. We all know the famous saying ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ so I would also throw in some ‘love and patience’ to this amazing mix of ingredients.

What I would say however is that to make change happen you need to know exactly your answers to the following questions:

  • Where you are going?
  • What do you specifically want to achieve?
  • What is your life’s purpose?
  • What do you need to be, do and have to get there?
  • What activities can you take action on NOW that will have the greatest impact on moving you forward towards your change goal?

Change is a choice and once you make that full commitment to change anything in your life you must take ‘MASSIVE ACTION’ to initiate the process.     When you start taking meaningful action towards your change goal you will get more and more motivated by the results you start to see – the fruits of your labour.

To change effectively and for the long term you must start at the core, with the root “the roots determine the fruits”.  That means change the way you think, which will change the way you feel and ultimately this will change your behaviours and it is in what you do that will help you get real results.

So make that decision today, challenge yourself,  be open, flexible and adaptable to change, welcome it with open arms and express who you really are because the only constant in life is change and if you stand still, I believe you are actually going backwards, as others make changes to drive ahead they will most definitely overtake you – so don’t be left for dust, change is opportunity NOW!!

Whispers in her Soul

“Dreams build momentum as faith grows inside.  Believe in yourself, believe it, have pride.” (Clarabelle)

When the time feels right and you’ve held onto your dreams for long enough, you will know when it is time to let go, to free your soul and release your dreams to the world.  The heart will speak, the universe will give you signs, then you will know, you will just feel it and know.  Dream it, Do it.  Go forth in the direction of your dreams.  Love Clarabelle.

Whispers in her Soul
Whispers in her Soul

Whispers in her Soul

She wakes up every day, with a song in her heart;

Her Vision is so strong, sweet music – the missing part.

Like a jigsaw puzzle, being pieced together;

Her motivation is high, no matter the weather.

For in the purpose of her heart, there lies the key;

A bright flame is burning, mesmerizing she.

She knows her faith, is stronger than ever;

She believes in herself, deeper than the river.

She swims against the current, going her own way;

Touching hearts, each and every day.

Her music is silent, it whispers in her soul;

One day she will empty it, making her whole.

The dream is building, time is nearly here;

Nothing is in her way, not even one fear.

Embrace yourself world, get ready to listen;

For when her sound is heard, the universe will glisten.

Dreams in her Soul

Who is She?

I write with ‘she’ in mind. Who is she?  What can she become?  What does she dream about?  What hopes are in her heart?  What happiness does she bring to others?  What if she just lived?  What if she became alive, right now, in this moment?  What wonders would she bring to this world?  “She” may be you, “She”, may be me.  Who is she?  This next poem is inspired by just that.  May the beauty of each day, shine in your soul forever. Much love to you today, Clarabelle

Dreams in her Soul
Dreams in her Soul

Dreams in her Soul

She writes with love, she writes with light;

Early in the morning, and last thing at night.

She opens her heart, to everyone;

Sharing her secrets, thinking of fun.

A happy soul, she shares it with glee;

Positive thoughts, changing me.

Hope is on the horizon, look up to the sun;

Shadows paint a pathway, over where she has run.

Beauty is in her heartbeat, shining afar;

Smiles last forever, and wherever you are.

She is a miracle, a symbol of life;

Forgotten are her days, of trouble and strife.

Her life has moved on, she dances alive;

Dreams in her soul, love in her heart does thrive.

My Soul is Free

I am thinking about my happy childhood today, so I decide to take a snapshot memory from one of these true moments and share it with you today.  Release the child inside of you, just for a moment, just for today, be that child once more, it feels so loving and carefree.  Lots of love, Clarabelle.

My Soul is Free

My Soul is Free

I am 8 years old, I am playing in the swing park and look up to the pretty red sky on a sweet summers night. I see a million lights sparkling in the distance, like the most precious jewels I have ever seen, they mesmerize me.  It feels like I am in a hypnotic state, my heart feels happy, my soul is free, I dream, I visualise my future….

“I’ll be there one day”, I say;

Where?….

Here, right now, I can be there any moment of any day, for my childlike imagination, can take me there.  Whenever I want to go there and without physical travel, I can instantly be there.

Where is there?

There is “Happiness” my friend, Happiness is my home and my heart has always lived there.

poemsbyclarabelle, 17 February 2013

Now….what is now?

It’s almost 4am, I haven’t slept yet, I hear the birds chirping outside, they sound very happy indeed….I have this urge to write, not sure what will come out of my soul at these early hours of the morning but here goes……my heart speaks to you.  Much love and light to you today, Clarabelle.

Now...what is now?
Now….what is now?

Now…what is now?

Now….what is now?  I smile;

Peace, love, openness, for a while.

Moved by hearts, touched with care;

Self-expression, take me there.

And if I go, if my time has come;

I know my journey has helped someone.

They write to me, tell me it all;

The footprints of my friends, walking tall.

For in this moment now, I’m alive inside;

Filled with hope, beaming with pride.

You’re never alone, in this physical space;

I hear your cry, I see your face.

The wonders of the world, mesmerize me;

My mind has stopped thinking, the heart is the key.

So hold onto your hat, as the wind blows your way;

Challenges are a plenty, but tomorrow is not today.

Embrace the music, sing the song;

Be at one in this moment, it’s where you belong.

In the midst of silence…..

Listen to you heart by silencing your mind….this next inspirational quote is for YOU.  May the whispers of your heart, sing to you today.  Love, Clarabelle.

Listen to your heart
Listen to your heart

“In the midst of silence,

your heart speaks many gentle words…..listen.”

(Clarabelle)

Love….what is love?

Here are my thoughts on love, put into an inspirational quote for YOU.  Much love to you today, Clarabelle.  Wishing you a fulfilling day filled with pure love.

Love is...
Love is….

“Love is the pure essence of life,

without love, we are empty inside”.

(Clarabelle)

Love is Profound

Respond with Love

I often feel that when I don’t act with love it puts me out of balance, let me give you an example.  Recently I received a message from someone, which I didn’t like the tone of, I waited for a little while before I responded, but still feel I was reacting to the emotion I was feeling rather than responding to the situation.  I feel this upset my equilibrium and for the next 36 hours it certainly did.  I knew the only way to put myself back into balance, was to see the situation for what it was and not worse than it was.  By doing this, I let go of unnecessary frustrations, this then opened up my heart and I instantly apologised for my poor response at that time.  What did I learn from this situation?  Most definitely, to never fight fire with fire and always to respond with love, this will free you from some unnecessary worry and pain.  It’s never too late to respond with love and if you feel you need to do that with someone today, please do so, it will make life for you and the other person involved a whole lot better.  Go on, put your life back into balance, what are you waiting for?  This next poem is for you.  Much love to you today, Clarabelle

Love is Profound
Love is Profound

Love is Profound

I call out my heart, do you hear my cry?

Where are you now? Don’t pass me by.

I search outside, nothing I find;

Where can it be? I know it’s one of a kind.

Then, in the silence, I discover, glowing from within;

A miracle heartbeat, I take a look in.

I see an extraordinary life, happiness all around;

Feeding pure souls, this love is profound.

Beautiful People

I have come across a lot of very beautiful people recently, people who are full of love, light, passion and happiness.  I dedicate this next poem to the three people I am thinking about in particular, and their first names all being with the letter “A”.  I will call them my three “Angels”, may you continue to bless hearts with your love, you truly are beautiful people.  Whatever you are doing today, may you spread a little happiness and love around you.  Much love to you, as always, Clarabelle

Beautiful People, Thank You
Beautiful People, Thank You

Beautiful People

I have a happy little feeling, dancing inside;

Beautiful people, are being my guide.

Their love is shining, brightly on me;

Giving me hope, filling me with glee.

***

So when love knocks on your door, greet it with light;

It will sparkle so magically, all through the night.

Uplifting your soul, touching your heart;

A special connection, the missing part.

***

For life is a jigsaw, the puzzle is you;

Once you’ve mastered yourself, dreams can come true.

To share your spirit, with another one;

Unleashes new energy, embrace the sun.

The rainbow is real, a miracle sign;

Thank you loving angels, you are truly divine.

Living Life Now

You can always make a fresh start moment to moment, by living in the now and using your mindfulness to change your immediate thinking.  It is always important to remember to come from a place of love, because when you let love run freely from your heart, it will always make sure it does its job.  This next poem is inspired by living life now, go on make it happen, because every moment, is a moment to change for the better.  Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle.

Live Life Now
Live Life Now

Living Life Now

Living life now;

Frees you from the how.

Just let go;

Let love in you, flow.

Take a step, achieve;

Really do believe.

That you can have it all;

Aim high, stand up tall.

Let worry, pass you by;

There’s a smile, behind your cry.

The pain will come and go;

This, I want you to know.

Today’s a brand new day;

Stay focused and go your own way.

Breakthrough

You Can Truly Help Yourself

All of my poetry is based on my life experiences, some amazing ones and some really challenging ones.  This next poem was written by me from a challenging time in my life.  I didn’t realise it at the time, but I know now, that the pain I was feeling, was the releasing of negative energy that was not serving me well.  I call this poem, my breakthrough poem, the reason being is that I opened up my heart and asked for help whilst feeling in such a vulnerable state of mind.  I remember this experience so very clearly, it was 3am and I couldn’t sleep, I felt really tearful…..I asked for help and I truly believe I got it – from myself.  This poem is a true reflection of that night, I believe some kind of inner miracle happened and I know the power of the universe was listening to me.  I share this very personal poem with you, in the hope that if you are facing a similar tough experience, it will give you faith and knowing that your current difficult experience will gradually pass with time and maybe just maybe the first step to that happening is accepting the situation for what it is and asking for help.  I believe that help will come from within, for you can truly help yourself and turn any negative situation around.  May you take courage and strength from these words, “The next message you need is always right where you are.” (Ram Das) and I feel my true life experience told in this next poem proves that.   Stay strong, you can do it!!  Much love to you today, Clarabelle.

Breakthrough
Breakthrough

Breakthrough

It was 3am, I just couldn’t sleep;

With tears in my eyes, the message came deep.

I was all alone and I repeated out loud;

“Help me, Help me”, I’m lost in the crowd.

Give me a sign, that you hear my cry;

I don’t know what to do, or what to try.

A few hours passed by, but nothing came my way;

I felt abandoned, and full of dismay.

When morning did come, I searched all around;

Give me a signal, then a book beside my bed I found.

I had been clearing out cupboards, the night before;

And this book fell out, and onto the floor.

Little did I know, for in my time of need;

The answer was there in advance, disguised in this good deed.

I picked up the book, and to my surprise;

The answer was there, in front of my eyes.

“Help is here if you need it” – words marked in bold;

Someone was listening, this answer they told.

I smiled inside, for I knew what to do;

The fact that I asked for help, was the start of my breakthrough.

That day I found comfort, for the universe heard my plea;

I can help myself, is what that message told me.

Keep a Strong Mind

Life Throws Us Many Challenges

Life throws us many challenges and sometimes just when you think you’ve got a little closer to the mountain top, darkness falls and fears and frustrations kick in.  No one said life was ever going to be easy, but we must remember there are many things in life to be grateful for right now.  Having an attitude of gratitude will become your inner torch, and will fill up your soul with an abundance of love and light.  This next poem was written by me, during a challenging time in my life and my self expression through my poetry, at times, was my saving grace.  I now share this with you in the hope that it will help you in some way to move forward regardless of the barriers that are in your way.  Much love to you today and always, Clarabelle.

keep a strong mind
keep a strong mind

Keep a Strong Mind

Too many things, so much to do;

One day feeling bright, the other feeling blue.

At this age now, I look life in the eyes;

Where am I going?  Where’s the surprise?

It’s gone a bit stale, I feel the dust;

I need to take action, this is a must.

The mountain is high, and the weather is bleak;

I must keep a strong mind, even though I feel weak.

Trudge, trudge, every step up the hill;

Moves me closer, this dream I will fulfill.

To escape in my imagination, makes me feel free;

It uplifts my spirits, like the wind’s carrying me.

For I come alive, when I write through my soul;

It opens the straight jacket, and fills up the black hole.

There are no boundaries, no pain my way;

The creativity is flowing, I’m listening to what I say.

It feels like magic, the words they come fast;

Meaningful moments, inspiration that lasts.

This feels easy, as I explore deep inside;

The experiences I hold, come in like the tide.

This I must do, it’s where I feel best;

Forget the distractions and let my mind just rest.

For here I find peace, just the silence and me;

My world is not empty, when I just be.

Today I Was Stuck

Moving from ‘Stuck’ to ‘Unstuck’

We’ve all had days when we feel a little bit ‘stuck’ and I include myself here, after all we are only human.  It is possible for you to go from stuck to unstuck within moments and I believe the process for this is different for every person.  When I created the poem below I was feeling in a ‘stuck’ place, but by the time I had finished the poem, I had moved to unstuck…the answer came from within and when I was in ‘creative flow’. What will you do today to help you move from a feeling of being ‘stuck’ to ‘unstuck’? There is a way, there is always a way, silence your mind, open your heart and let the answers flow.  Much love to you, Clarabelle.

Today I Was Stuck
Moving from Stuck to Unstuck

Today I Was Stuck

It’s nearly midnight, and I’m lying in bed;

I think of my inaction, before I rest my head.

Today I was stuck, I didn’t play the game;

Life got the better of me, unleash this chain.

Many brick walls, are in my way;

Built up by me, getting higher each day.

I kick and I punch, the battle is in me;

I’m fighting myself, this I can see.

So what do I do, to turn this around?

Inside is the answer, this I have always found.

Let go of the fight, it’s not a war anymore;

Staring at these four walls, will not open the door.

Step outside, breathe in the air;

Replenish your spirit, feel the wind in your hair.

Dust yourself down, and put a smile on your face;

Slowly walk down the path, and gradually pick up the pace.

To master the mind, it not about control;

Release that desire, and you’ll discover your soul.

Silence is golden, connect to the now;

The answers will come, and then you’ll know how.

Faith Showed the Way

Faith for me is knowing that the unknown is going to be okay.  It is knowing that what you believed as a child would come true for you, will come true for you.  Never giving up on a childlike faith, is such a beautiful thing.  It is such a deep knowing and offers the deepest connection to your soul.  I have managed to recapture that childlike faith and it brings much love and peace to my heart.  May your heart be filled with patience and understanding that all is going to be okay for you.  Much love to you Clarabelle.

Faith Showed the Way

Faith Showed the Way

The clock strikes midnight, I write alone;

A candle softly burns, glowing in my home.

Sweet whispers of the soul, speak to me;

Dreams of pastures new, big city lights I see,

Romance is in the air, it has captured my heart;

Magic awaits us, soon we’ll never be apart.

As I enter the unknown, it’s a scary thought;

But excitement carries me, under the sun so hot.

I always believed, I always knew;

Faith showed the way, now my vision is true.

Gratitude Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for being present in my life.

Thank you for the abundance of love that surrounds me.

Thank you for the beautiful people I share my life with;

And thank you for the knowing that you are always there for me.

As I take each step on my journey of life;

I am grateful for all that I am and all that I am becoming.

May each breath of life that I take;

Fill me with true love, light and happiness.

Amen

There’s a Champion in YOU!!

Life can be really really tough sometimes, it can throw you curve ball after curve ball, whilst you’re climbing up the highest mountain, in the toughest terrain and then just when you think you’re getting somewhere, down comes the avalanche!!  You may not realise it, but this is where the lighting strikes, this is where the miracle happens….saturated in doubts and drenched in tears, your heart and soul gets to work and creates a special magic inside of you, which reaches out and touches the stars.  When you feel the deepest pain, believe me, it’s the start of your healing. How do I know?……I’ve been there.  The New Year is just around the corner, there is life after 2012, I see it is so very special for you, full of love and abundance. My inner calling told me to share this with you today…….sometimes we all need a helping hand – listen to the whispers of your heart, for they only speak truth to you.  Much love to you today, Clarabelle.

New Year
New Year 2013

There’s a Champion in YOU!!

Your light shines brighter, in the dark,

Your heart beats stronger, but leaves no mark.

The soul reconnects, to all of you,

The mountain climb, is in full view.

Pause for a second, feel the calmness in the air,

Your inner being, has much love to share.

The battle ain’t over, but YOU will win,

Believe it and see it, hold up that chin.

Because sometimes we fall, and keep on falling,

Tumbling down the hill, away from our calling.

***

But where you land, is the start of your healing,

Disguised in your tears, and in the pain you are feeling.

Nothing feels worse, but please trust, in what I say,

As you freeze in the moment, in the heat of the day.

You are a miracle, you are the one,

That can move any mountain, your journey has begun.

For inside your being, a bright flame does glow,

The tougher life gets, the more it does grow.

The eyes cannot see it, as the mind struggles on,

But it’s burning down the virus, until it’s all gone.

Don’t shut out these whispers, have faith, they are true,

Keep going, my friend, there’s a champion in YOU!!

Love is . . . .

I’ve been feeling alot of love in the air recently, it’s everywhere around me, it’s abundant, I know I don’t need to search for it, it is always there and you have it within and around you too.  In the silence of my heart I drew a picture of love, which then led me on to writing this next poem about love, and I share it with you today.  Much love to you Clarabelle.

love is
love is

 Love is . . . . .

Love is the fresh air, on my face,

Love is the energy, in this place.

Love can move mountains, travel in time,

Love is a symbol, that’s truly sublime.

***

Love is creation, with all your heart,

Love’s bond is unique, and can’t be broken apart.

Love is truth, and calmness in sea,

Love stops wars, and frustrations in me.

***

Love is free-flowing, and beauty at its best,

Love is mother-nature, putting us to test.

Love is the stars, moon and the sun,

Love is where we belong, love is everyone.

***

Love is me, and love is you,

Love is wholesome, and vibrates in all you do.

Love is the answer, love is the song,

Love just “is”, and has no right or wrong.

***

Love is the journey, and the destination in one,

Love is magnetic, love is pure fun.

Love is in your eyes, and in your precious smile,

Love is your radiance, shining mile after after.

***

Love is joy, and peace from within,

Love is happiness, and the air you breathe in.

Love is the universe, the future of time,

Love is abundant, love is divine.

Language of the Heart

I had a meeting today with a very good friend and colleague of mine, a truly wonderful gentleman who is very kind, caring, a giver of his time, with a head full of knowledge and a heart full of wisdom, he is a very special human being…thank you ‘J’.  We got into a discussion about my poetry blog and ‘J’ very kindly said that I speak the ‘language of the heart’ through my creative writings.  I loved that phrase and instantly thought, “I’m going to write a poem about that”, and so here it is, with sincere dedication to ‘JM’, thank you for everything.

language of the heart

Language of the Heart

Let the dust settle, before you start,

A journey of hope, language of the heart.

Strapped in tight, on this roller coaster ride,

To-ing and fro-ing, no place to hide.

Some share their secrets, others choose not,

A silent cry for help, raises true thought.

***

Yet far in the distance, beyond empty dreams,

Appears an angel and true love redeems.

All that is, all that was,

Take a deep breath, put life in pause.

A temporary moment, that challenges your smile,

Will soon fade away, then you’ll smile for a while.

Blue skies will appear, the sun will shine,

Because your spirit is glowing, you are divine.

Personal Evolution

I have been listening to the audio book ‘The 28 Laws of Attraction’ by Thomas J. Leonard and there are some golden nuggets of wisdom within this, which have enhanced my own learning and development.  I particularly love what he feels is the next stage of personal development and that is ‘personal evolution’…..this next poem is inspired by just that.  May your day be filled with golden nuggets of wisdom that inspire you to do great things.  Lots of love Clarabelle

Personal Evolution

On this path you grow, with all your might

At the crossroads you may stand, which way is right?

From the depths of your heart, you will evolve

Expanding your intelligence, problems you do solve

Your ability is innate, a gift from above

Personal evolution is your next stage, discover it with love.

To Rekindle A Heart

Meaningful relationships hold a special place in your heart, sometimes they last forever, sometimes we allow the pressures of life to stretch the bond so far that it breaks. I believe however, that the invisible connection that first brought these human souls together will never die.  Where there is real love, there is a way, often a different way. What happens next may take you on a spectacular journey of hope, mystery and magical bliss – dare you risk it?. . . . maybe yes or maybe no – this potentially rekindled love is indeed your life choice.  I dedicate this next poem to the joining of two hearts that are just meant to be together.  And even if none of this makes sense to you, the heartfelt message I am conveying is:  May serendipity prevail.  Lots of love Clarabelle.

 To Rekindle A Heart

Just, when I see you there

I take a step, I feel your stare

My soul is taken, to another place

My eyes fill up, as I see your face

For love was present, there one time

We laughed, we danced, we joked in rhyme

An unbreakable bond, we once had

I’m glad ‘we’ happened, I am not sad

These emotions are like clouds, they drift away

But then the lightning strikes, are they here to stay?

To rekindle a heart, to fuel the fire

Is a mixture of sensations, a dream desire

Where hope did live, I knocked on the door

Confusion set in, as I reached out for more

Then you let go, the butterfly did flutter

Stages of healing, rose me up from the gutter

This deep lesson now lives, inside of me

Its wisdom now shared, welcome serendipity

Smile in the moment, sing in the sun

Play in the puddles, for true love is fun

Treasure the knowing and heartfelt forgiving

Choose to be happy, life is for living

Your Legacy Lives On

I was really saddened to hear about the passing away of Mr Stephen R. Covey yesterday, this gentleman and his wonderful words of wisdom will live in my heart forever. He is the author of one of my most favourite books, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and I have often used the knowledge and teachings from this book in my work and every day life.  If you haven’t read this book, I would totally recommend it to you.  In my opinion Mr Covey was indeed an inspirational human being and his legacy lives on.  This next poem is dedicated to him, thank you for being such a positive influence in my life.

Your Legacy Lives On

Dear Mr Covey, your words are very wise

Your book, The 7 Habits, helped me to see through different eyes

Your teachings are so inspiring, and made a lot of sense to me

You enhanced my ‘circle of influence’, a new perception I now see

To ‘start with the end in mind’, is so very true

You gave me visions of hope, and now this is what I do

Your legacy lives on, guiding my soul

Without your wonderful knowledge, I would never feel so whole

Thank you Stephen R. Covey, I’ll remember to ‘sharpen my saw’

Each principle that you lived by, is now my living law
