The Walk of Gratitude

Clarabelle's Gratitude Penny Jar

Gratitude Exercise

I want to tell you about one of the gratitude exercises I have been carrying out over the last few weeks from my new eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude”.  The gratitude exercise is called “Gratitude Penny Jar”.  The eBook explains the full process on how to do this, but basically, in summary, when you have carried out this daily gratitude exercise you will have a full jar of “Gratitude Pennies” at the end of it to give away.

Gratitude Pennies

I was so excited the other evening because my Gratitude Penny Jar was full to the brim and I knew exactly who I was giving the Gratitude Pennies to.  So I enthusiastically emptied the jar onto my living room floor and counted out the Gratitude Pennies.  Here are some photos below:

402 Things That I Was Grateful For

All in all I had collected 402 Gratitude Pennies, I felt so good because that equated to 402 things that I was grateful for in my life over the last few weeks and now I was going to give these Gratitude Pennies away to someone who needed them more than me.

At the beginning of this Gratitude Exercise I already knew who I would give my pennies to because I often passed this homeless lady on the streets of Glasgow City Centre,  no matter what the weather, selling “The Big Issue” Magazine, which is sold by people who are homeless.  I counted out exactly £8.50 in one pence and five pence coins and I bagged them up all nicely and noted the amount on the outside, see photo below:

Gratitude Pennies

The Gratitude Walk

I was so excited the next day as I headed into Glasgow City Centre for work, as I really wanted to give the older homeless lady the Gratitude Pennies.  As I turned the corner towards the Street she normally sits, I could see her about 100 metres ahead….this was the best feeling ever and I am now going to call this experience here “The Gratitude Walk”.  I honestly felt like I had a million pounds in my bag to give the lady and even though it was only £8.50, these were special pennies, because these were “Gratitude Pennies” and every gratitude thought was from me with always her in my mind.

Thank You Lady

I smiled as I approached the lady and I handed her the white bag with the pennies in it, she looked at me in surprise, opened the bag and…..well let’s just say I’ll never forget the look on her face, she was so happy, so grateful and so loving with it all.  “Thank you lady, thank you lady”, she said, to which I gave her the biggest smile, touched her on the shoulder and wished her a good day.  I immediately filled up with tears because I know that little amount of money would have made a big difference to that lady and the expression on her face said it all.

Best Day

I had the best day that day, I felt so good and I paid my “Gratitude Pennies” forward to someone who needed them more than me……..there are no words to describe the feeling I felt……no words at all.

I want you to experience “The Gratitude Walk”, just like I did, and pay your “Gratitude Pennies” forward – not only will you feel amazing but the person you give them to will also feel so good.

Count Your Blessings

“Gratitude neutralises negative emotions” (Sonja Lyubomirsky)

I am doing a lot of research for my new “It’s All About Gratitude”  eBook on the scientific studies of the relationship between gratitude and happiness and I am wonderfully amazed by the findings.  Below is a Greater Good Science Centre, www.greatergoodscience.org YouTube video of Sonja Lyubomirsky, Professor of Psychology, University of California, Riverside, in which she talks about one of those gratitude studies, “Count Your Blessings” – I am sure you will find it very interesting indeed.

My own preference is most definitely carrying out the practice of daily gratitude because I know this 100% works for me but everyone is different and as the study explains maybe doing this once a week is enough and will have a greater impact for you.

May today be a “Count Your Blessings” day today for you and may it bring you a deeper sense of happiness and contentment into your life.  Love Clarabelle.

November’s Question of the Month

True Beauty

At the beginning of every month I pose a question for you to reflect upon and answer for yourself, I also provide you with my own answer to that question.

This month’s question links to the contents of my new eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude”, coming soon!!  The answers that are posted in the comments section of this blog post will contribute to a section within the eBook and I will also link this blog post to it.  It means that if you do choose to comment, which I would really really love, then your comments will be linked and can be accessed by the readers of the eBook and hopefully they will also visit your own blog, I will certainly encourage them to do that.

So this month’s question relates to “Gratitude“, I bet you guessed that one already!!  🙂

Question:

What does the feeling of “Gratitude” feel like to you, i.e. how does “Gratitude” make you feel?

My Answer:

When I am truly grateful for anything I have in life, it makes me feel so wonderful, I feel happy inside, I feel inspired, I feel motivated, I feel energised, I feel at one with myself, I feel I want to help other people, I feel of real value, I feel in harmony and in balance.

Feeling grateful is such a beautiful feeling for me and sometimes words cannot nearly describe what it really feels like.  Feeling grateful makes me feel like I am meant to be here, it connects me to my purpose in life and makes me want to take inspired action.

Gratitude makes my heart smile inside and it touches my soul……it’s a bit like feeling the feelings of love, true love.  When I am grateful I feel connected to a higher purpose, I feel good, I feel loved, I feel so thankful for being alive, right now, in this very moment.

When I feel grateful I want to sing, I want to dance and I want to share my happy feelings with others.

I practice daily gratitude and this is why, because it makes me feel so so so so good.

I would really really love to know what it feels like for you?

The Science Behind Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude

As you know I am a massive fan of daily gratitude, it is such an important value to me, I just love the feeling of feeling grateful, it makes me feel so good…..and with my daily gratitude exercise, I feel happier and happier every day.  I totally believe in the power of gratitude and that is why it has been a joy to me to write an eBook on Gratitude.

What Science Reveals About Daily Gratitude

In this YouTube video below, Jane Ransom, Coach/Speaker/Author/Professional Hypnotist, shares at a TEDxTalk some of the benefits of gratitude and what science reveals about the practice of daily gratitude.

Jane states, “When you practice gratitude correctly you tap into neuroplasticity , brain plasticity, that’s the discovery that we can restructure our physical brains by using our minds to create better brain cell connections.  Today, neuroplasticity reveals how a consistent gratitude exercise works to physically remap the connections amongst our brains cells to literally reform the subconscious mind.”

Jane shares that she is living proof that daily gratitude works for her in her life and I am also living proof of that too……I honestly cannot say enough good things about the practice of daily gratitude and my eBook, “It’s All About Gratitude” will provide you with exercises on how to do that….coming soon!!

What are you grateful for today?

A little bit of gratitude….

A little bit of gratitude goes a long long way.

Below is an updated version of the YouTube video which relates to the eBook I am currently creating entitled “It’s All About Gratitude”.  The eBook will be available to purchase on Amazon Kindle soon and the video shares extracts from the content of that eBook.

The backing track has been updated on this latest YouTube video.  The backing track piano instrumental is from my original song “I Am Here” and I will be in the studio very soon recording it for my up and coming music Album, “The Becoming of Me”.  The backing track you hear playing on this YouTube video was arranged and played by Denis Kilty, http://www.deniskilty.com and I am so grateful to Denis for arranging this piano backing track, he did such an amazing job.

Thank You For……

Attitude of Gratitude

How Grateful I Am

I was taking my mum to the hospital yesterday, she is fine, it was just for a regular 6 monthly check up to the eye clinic.  The hospital was so busy and whilst my mum was with the eye doctor I pullled out my iPad mini and created a couple of poems.  The first poem I wrote is below – being in the hospital made me think about how grateful I am for my own health and wellbeing and all the abundance I have in my life.  May your attitude of gratitude shine brighter than the sun today. Lots of love to you Clarabelle.

Attitude of Gratitude

I am grateful for my health, and happiness in me
Grateful for the sun, shining so free

Grateful for the rainbow, with colours so bright
Grateful for the youthfulness, making me light

I am grateful for, just every little thing
I am grateful for, the joy it does bring

For once I forgot, to thank all that I own
I was less gratefully mindful, when I was alone

But something happened, to me on my path
Something so serious, but now I do laugh

Because life is what you make it, see it shine
Let it dance in your soul, you’ll feel better than fine

Have a grateful heart, and happy spirit too
Because the attitude of gratitude, will always help you through

It’s All About Gratitude

About 6 weeks ago I shared on this blog that I was creating an eBook on gratitude, the eBook is entitled, “It’s All About Gratitude”.  I have been working on its content over the last couple of months and I hope to have the eBook published very soon.

In the meantime, I thought I would create a Youtube video which shares a little bit about the eBook and some original quotes from it.  Everything on this Youtube video has been created by me i.e. the photography is all my own, the background music has been created and played by me, the  original quotes are all my own and I created the video too.  I am the first to admit it is not a perfect production but at least it is a start 🙂

I hope you like it and I plan on getting the eBook published very soon, you’ve heard it here first!!

My True Story

Wedding Day
(L-R)  Michelle, Yvonne, Beautiful Bride Donna (BFF), Clarabelle, Sarah-Louise

Life Saver

I want to tell you a story, a true story from 22 years ago, it is the story of the day I believe, my best friend saved my life.  I just feel I want to share this with you today and I want to dedicate this blog post to Donna my BFF, best friend forever.  Thank you for everything and more.

Accident 1

I was 18 when I was in my first very serious car accident, the police officers who visited me in hospital afterwards told me they don’t know how I got out of the car alive, because where I was sitting in the car, there was basically nothing left of it.  I remember that evening so clearly, the sounds, the smells, the conversations, every one of my senses seemed to be fully enhanced.

Full Recovery

Leading up to it, there was lots of fun, joking around and laughter and then all of a sudden I was squealing in pure agony, trapped in a car I couldn’t get out of.  But thankfully I did get out of it and after almost 6 weeks in hospital and one and half years with crutches I managed to make a full recovery and get back on track with my life.

That was the first serious car accident I was in but it is the second car crash that happened four and half months after the first one, that  I want to tell you about.

Accident 2

My best friend and I were offered a lift by some other friends, I was in crutches and insisted on sitting in the back of the car behind the drivers seat.  There was five of us in the car and my best friend was sitting to the left of me, in the middle seat position.  The driver stopped to get petrol and my best friend got out to get some sweets.  When she came back she wanted me to move into the middle seat of the car but I didn’t want to go into the middle of the car, she insisted and we had a silly mini argument about it and I had enough and just moved into the middle of the car.  No less than 2 minutes later the car crashed and my best friend got the full impact of the car hitting a steel pole in the middle of a roundabout.  I was protected because I was in the middle, I did get crushed but with bodies rather than metal and steel.  My best friend was in a really bad way, she was lying in the middle of the road and all she kept shouting was “is Claire alright, is Claire alright”.  Yes, I was alright in comparison to her.  She was taken immediately to intensive care and was put on a life support machine, she was given a very low chance of surviving.  We said lots of prayers, I have never said so many prayers in my life so that she would get well again, we were told the chances were very slim but I always believed she would and thankfully she did and she made a full recovery within 6 months.

Saved My Life

I know that my best friend saved my life that night of the second car accident.  My body was still in recovery from the first one and I was so weak and thin, if I had been sitting in the same seat, I would never have had the strength to have survived that second car accident.  As I shared earlier, my friend insisted on changing seats 2 minutes before the accident happened, I believe my best friend saved my life that day.

Fighting Fit

We are both fighting fit now and full of health and we often now just laugh and cry about those times, not funny I know but after 22 years you start to look at things a little differently.

It wasn’t our time to go, all those years ago, God had other plans for us.  Thank you so much.

Love and Strength of Friendships

I had many dark days when recovering from my accident, many many dark days, lots of tears, lots of frustrations and lots of anger built up inside of me.  I was still a teenager and had a great dreams and plans that I thought, at the time, were getting taken away from me. My dad was also suffering from cancer at the time so I think that didn’t help either.    Now that I reflect upon it, I think I was a little ignorant and possibly a little bit selfish.  I couldn’t see past my own pain and I blamed a lot of external things for my unhappiness.    These life experiences, I believe have made me a better and stronger person.  My bitter thinking was all wrong at the time, I can see that now and I am sorry I felt that way, but I learned a lot, I learned a lot about myself and about the love and strength of friendships.

Gratitude

I am such a grateful person now, I have so grateful to be alive, to be healthy, to be happy and to still have my best friend in my life……forever 🙂  I treasure everything that I have and I nurture my positive energy every day.

I actually never ever thought I would share this story on my blog, but for some reason it just felt right to share it today.

In life we are faced with many challenges and sometimes at the time we are facing them we don’t see the lesson……but believe me there is a lesson and it will be revealed through time or if we take time out of the equation, through a change in our thinking.

Much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle

What are you grateful for today?

Balloch, Scotland
Balloch, Scotland, 23 August 2013

When you are feeling the power of gratitude from within you are putting good energy into your body and also sending out good vibes into the Universe. Please take a moment to answer this question:

What are you truly grateful for today?

I am grateful for living in Scotland, I love the beautiful landscape, the “4 seasons in one day” Scottish weather 🙂 and the Scottish people.  I love living in Scotland, I really do and the more spiritually aware I am becoming, the more I really appreciate its beauty.

This doesn’t mean I want to live here forever, I do actually believe I will move out of Scotland in the near future, but it just means I am really grateful for Scotland in the “here and now”.

Thank you Bonny Scotland, you truly are very Bonny indeed.

May you bask in the beauty of gratitude today, wherever you are in the world.

Lots of love to you, Clarabelle

How to uncover your ‘Magic’?

thank you

Thank You

Firstly, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you for reading this post.

I want to share with you some magical details about a book I have been reading, it is called “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne.  This book is an offshoot from her bestselling book “The Secret”, related to the Law of Attraction, which I am a big fan of.

I love the book “The Magic” and I will tell you why:

  • The book is about the magical power of gratitude, this I feel is very important to me, so straight away this book is in alignment with my core values.
  • It is simple and easy to read and provides true examples of success stories, I love to hear about other people’s real true life success stories, they totally uplift and inspire me.
  • The book is based around “practical application”, it gives you a gratitude exercise to do everyday over a 28 day period.  Today, as I write this blog post I am on the final day 28.
  • It has helped me to be more consciously aware of what is going on around me, every moment of every day and why I am grateful for all I have in my life right now.
  • It has been internally rewarding for me in terms of connecting with the truth of who I am, the internal thoughts that serve me well and the thoughts that don’t.
  • It has helped me to think about practicing mindfulness in the moment, become more self aware and realise the abundance I already have in my life….I have such a lot.
  • It has helped to really value my own self worth and the people I love around me.
  • It has changed my thinking for the better, I feel I am making better choices and decisions that honour my values and goals in life.
  • It has given me a new perspective on life, the universe, the law of attraction, a deeper connection with a higher/spiritual intelligence, the power of the heart, mind and spirit and the magical power within me to change my life for the better.
  • It has given me confidence to try new things, be brave and build up my “courageous” soul.
  • I know I am doing things differently because the whole, “Magic Book” process is a little like internal therapy, healing old wounds, freeing up limiting beliefs and helping me question, why I do what I do.
  • It has helped me to fully connect with and understand what my life purpose is and to forge ahead with that.

Reflective

If you apply the book correctly and if it fits with your “reflective type”, preferred learning style, then I feel you will definitely benefit from reading this book.  I believe it is a magical book because I believe the magic is within me and is within YOU.

I will share more of my tangible results with you in a later post, I want to reflect on this more after Day 28 is complete.

I would fully recommend this book to you if you are of a reflective nature and would be committed to openly and meaningfully complete the daily gratitude exercises, then you will feel and see “The Magic” happen.

Uncover your Magic, believe that it is living inside of you, because it truly is.

May you have a magical day today, thank you for reading this post, I am very blessed for having you here.  Clarabelle

The Magical Power of Thank You

Gratitude has such a magical power, it is more powerful than you could ever imagine, it has the power to change you from within and in doing so change the environment around you. Feel very blessed for everything you have in your life right now, deliberately be grateful for it all, you will then know what I am talking about because you too will be holding the magic in your heart.

I am forever grateful to you for reading these posts and joining me on the path of gratitude.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Lots of love Clarabelle 🙂

How Did I Get Here?

Destiny

How Did I Get Here?

I feel light today, free from unnecessary pressures and unwanted stress.  I feel at one with myself, I feel like I am floating in the goodness of the Universe.   I feel as light as the air I breathe in, I feel calmness and full of gratitude.  How did I get here, to this magical place, to this beautiful feeling of oneness and wellbeing?  I do believe I unlocked my heart, let go of the ego and brought myself back to me.  It has taken a while, almost 40 years but I got there, not in the end but in the beginning, for I have arrived, once again!!  This next poem poured out of my soul this morning, may it bring you a touch of what you need in your life right now.  Lots of love Clarabelle

Destiny

My heart moves, slowly towards the light;

Into the unknown, it’s shining bright.

Destiny decided, this is where you’ll be;

A dance step forward, I’m feeling free.

I take pleasure in this ride, it just feels right;

My soul is blessed, beneath the stars and moonlight.

I thank you Universe, you’ve did me good;

My spirits are high, I have deep gratitude.

To enter the unknown, and all its mystery

Keeps me alive in this moment, without the history.

So I treasure this day, the time is NOW;

Sunsets and butterflies, make me feel WOW!!

The Path of Gratitude

path

Gratitude

I have a lot of gratitude bursting inside of me right now, I know it was always there but I didn’t always show it.  I know I am walking the path of gratitude, I am growing and becoming a better person every day but I want to continue to develop all of this in a natural and very genuine way, it must not be forced.

What a Feeling

Yesterday, I was with a client and he shared with me a “Mood Lift Chart”.….WOW, I just loved this.  The chart scale goes from a score of minus 9 which represents a depressed mood to plus 9 which represents gratitude.  When I looked at this chart I instantly smiled because I knew at that moment in time I was in a grateful mood, the top of the chart – what a feeling!!

I was filled with gratitude most of the day yesterday, I reached out to people I know, because I wanted to thank them for being in my life right now.  I just know that those simple words of “thank you” meant so much to me and the person receiving them.

A simple thank you goes a long long way, who do you want to thank today for being in your life right now?  Go on, reach out to them, say those beautiful words with meaning and purpose and you will be camping at the top of the “Mood Lift Chart”.

Thank you, thank you, thank YOU for reading this blog post, thank you, thank you, thank you for your support, encouragement and comments.  Thank YOU.

Lots of love to you to today, Clarabelle

True Story

True Story

I would like to share a true story of mine with you today.

When I was 16 years old, my first full-time job was as an Office Assistant in a Solicitor’s Office in Glasgow City Centre.  I really loved that job, mainly because I really loved the people I worked with, it was really fun at times and I learned so much with it being my first permanent job.

Escape

Unfortunately, I was in two serious car crashes when I was 18 years old and was in crutches for a year and half and sadly, my position at the Solicitor’s Office had to be terminated because there was no real indication when I would make a full recovery and was likely to return.  So there I was at the age of 18, in crutches for 18 months, no job and no real indication from the Doctors at the hospital when I would get fully better.  I could have been really depressed about being in that situation, but I wasn’t.  I decided to use the extra time I had to read lots of books from the library on subjects I was interested in at the time, it helped me escape from my current reality.

A Christmas Gift

There is a significance to me telling you this story and that is because of a Christmas gift that was given to me when I was 16 years old from the staff when I was working in the Solicitor’s office.  They very kindly got me this lovely mug, that I totally treasured, it had my name on it “Claire” and a short poem about the meaning of name.  Here is the little poem:

CLAIRE
MEANING:  LIGHT

You’re quick to solve puzzles
Without hints or clues
And shed light on situations
Known to confuse.
The inner glow you have
Because of your name
Makes your life a lighthearted,
Whimsical game.
You’ll always know happiness,
Love and delight,
For you follow a lifelong path
Cheerful and bright.

It was my job to make the coffee and tea for everyone throughout the day in the office and every time I made myself a quick cuppa, I would read the little poem and smile with delight, I really loved it so much.

However, when my employment got terminated at the office I never seen my treasured little mug again….until 15 years later, yes my little mug came back to me and here is a photo of it below:

Claire's Mug
The Original Claire Mug from the year 1989

So how did it find its way back to me?  This next true story is fascinating.

My younger sister, Leanne met her husband to be Cameron when she was 22 years old and Cameron was 18 at the time.  My sister and I had both decided to spontaneously go out the evening she met Cameron, they instantly fell in love with each other and are now very happily married with three beautiful children.  The interesting fact here is that Cameron had lived in Cape Town, South Africa all his life and him and his family emigrated to Scotland to live, the year Leanne and him met.

Our Claire

A few years after they met, Leanne and Cameron got married and it was a very beautiful wedding.  Shortly after the wedding, Cameron’s mum, Joan, who works in an Accountant’s office, was showing her friends in work the wedding photographs, she then also showed the ladies in the office downstairs the wedding photographs.  Whilst looking through the photographs, one of the ladies said, “Who is that bridesmade girl?”, and Joan said it was Leanne’s sister, Claire, they said that’s “Our Claire”, “She worked here when was 16 years old…..we kept her mug, please give her mug back to her and tell her we are asking for her”.  WOW, Joan had been working in the Accountant’s office upstairs from the Solicitor’s office I worked in when I was 16 years old and none of us knew.

Joan, surprised me one day, she turned up with the mug for me and told me the whole story, what a truly wonderful surprise it was….after 15 years, they kept the mug and it was returned to me.

I still find this story very fascinating and especially that the mug has poetry on it…..which for me as you know, poetry, if part of my life, it is part of who I am.

24 Years Later

I have visited the staff in the office since then, some of the original staff who worked there when I was 16 are still working there, almost 24 years later.  They have also allowed me the use of their offices to hold coaching sessions in…this time I am not the receptionist, I am the business owner meeting with my own clients…..I feel I have come along way since those days as an Office Assistant.

True Love

I am not exactly sure what the moral of the story is here, I think you will have your own take away from it.  All I know is that, my “Claire mug” was meant to come back to me and it took a family to emigrate to Scotland from Cape Town, South Africa and a real love story to make its way back to me…..how lovely indeed.  I really treasure this “Claire mug” with all my heart, I believe, true love brought it back to me and now I share this story with you today.

If you have an uplifting true story you would like to share, I would really love to here it, why don’t you share it on my blog, I would be happy to dedicate a blog post to it for you.

Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle

The Goodness of a Person

The Goodness of a Person

There is this quote on my Vision Wall which I absolutely love, here it is below:

The goodness of a person
The goodness of a person

“The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind.  But the goodness of a person ‘spreads in all direction’.  (Chanakya Philospher)

Sharing the Story

I am currently training to become a Mental Health First Aider and at the start of the training yesterday morning, each attendee was asked to select an object from their bag and explain to the whole group why it was interesting or important to you.  I brought out a little keyring that was given to me a few weeks ago – let me share the story about it…..

A Lovely Gesture

A client and good friend of mine were having lunch in the newly opened Zizzi’s Restaurant, Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow City Centre.  After our main meal we ordered deserts which took a very long time to arrive.  The waitress very kindly and sincerely apologised to us for the long delay and told us that there would be no charge for the deserts – we thought that’s a lovely gesture.  About 10 minutes later the Manager of the Restaurant came up to our table and he handed my friend and I a little keyring each.  He apologised again for the delay with the deserts and said that the keyring he had given us would give us free deserts for LIFE when buying a main meal in the restaurant anytime in the future.  We thought WOW, now that seriously is a lovely LOVELY gesture and we truly thanked him for this, we certainly did not expect this kindness!!

The goodness of this person has now indeed spread, as I continue to share this story of kindness with others.  If this situation was handled in the opposite way of this, it could have been a whole different story.  The power of kindness is very empowering.  Have you ever had a kind experience like this?  If so, please share it in the comments section below.

May your kindness abundantly flow from your heart today.  Clarabelle

Beautiful People

I have come across a lot of very beautiful people recently, people who are full of love, light, passion and happiness.  I dedicate this next poem to the three people I am thinking about in particular, and their first names all being with the letter “A”.  I will call them my three “Angels”, may you continue to bless hearts with your love, you truly are beautiful people.  Whatever you are doing today, may you spread a little happiness and love around you.  Much love to you, as always, Clarabelle

Beautiful People, Thank You
Beautiful People, Thank You

Beautiful People

I have a happy little feeling, dancing inside;

Beautiful people, are being my guide.

Their love is shining, brightly on me;

Giving me hope, filling me with glee.

***

So when love knocks on your door, greet it with light;

It will sparkle so magically, all through the night.

Uplifting your soul, touching your heart;

A special connection, the missing part.

***

For life is a jigsaw, the puzzle is you;

Once you’ve mastered yourself, dreams can come true.

To share your spirit, with another one;

Unleashes new energy, embrace the sun.

The rainbow is real, a miracle sign;

Thank you loving angels, you are truly divine.

Beauty is All Around

I am receiving such beautiful comments from followers of this blog and these wonderful sentiments of support are really touching my heart.  I want to thank everyone for their heartfelt comments, I am so grateful for them.  This next poem is all about that.  Have a beautifully inspired day, love Clarabelle.

Beauty is all around

Beauty is all Around

Touching words, moving hearts,

Lost in the moment, in all of its parts.

Feelings are special, unique and true,

Gratitude means everything, and I believe in you.

Love is on the horizon, its energy attracts me,

Beauty is all around, as far as the eyes can see.

Green is for Go

Lately I have been noticing that things have been going my way, such as green traffic lights, people going out of their way to help me, smiles from strangers on the street, unexpected gifts, getting treated to lunch and receiving beautiful thank you notes.  I am so so so grateful for the abundance that is in my life right now and I am even more grateful that I am aware of it.  Stop for a moment today and think of 3 small things you are grateful for in your life right now, I know it will make you feel good.  Lots of love Clarabelle

green is for go

Green is for Go

Green is for go, I see it everywhere,

Moving me forward, it’s so special and rare.

The key to the door, the answer to my prayers,

The blossoming of the flower, uncovering deep layers.

The sparkle in the sky, the smile on the street,

An abundance of joy, dancing in my feet.

The seasons have changed, a new freshness is in the air,

Autumn leaves fall, and softly touch my hair.

I’m switched on to life, glowing at night,

Such a beautiful opening, I’m now in full flight.

The Coffee in Your Cup

It is important to recognise each day what you are grateful for in life, even when times are very tough there is always something to have gratitude for.  What three things are you grateful for today?  This next poem is inspired by this…..what’s in your cup?

When times are getting you down

And you feel like wearing a frown

Remember to be grateful for all that you’ve got

Ask yourself this question – “I am grateful for what?”

Just listing 3 things, will instantly cheer you up

From friends in your life, to the coffee in your cup

It’s all important, just you wait and see

That appreciating life, fills you with glee

So think a little different, in this moment now

And you can turn around tough times, to make you feel just WOW!!

What does happiness mean to you?  I have tried to capture in this next poem, some of what it means for me.  The sweet simple things in life are there to be enjoyed, I wish you a very happy day.

Happiness is . . .

Love for another

My sister and brother

Midnight stars, worth a look

***

Holding hands

Marching bands

Walking on sands

***

Swimming in the sea

Feeling free

You and Me

***

Sun in the sky

Imagination high

Kites that fly

***

The falling snow

Having faith, to know

Creative flow

***

A poetic note

An inspirational quote

Sailing on a boat

***

Dancing on the shore

Connected to your core

Happiness is all that and more

Friendship is the Gift

I have been reflecting today on the wonderful close friends I have in my life, some of them I have known for over 30 years of my life and others for about one year. Regardless of the length of time I have known them, each and everyone of them is very special to me, their support is second to none and just talking to them instantly uplifts my spirits to another dimension.  This poem is dedicated to my dearest friends, Donna, Sharon, Debbie and Dagmar, I shall champion you forever, thank you for all that you give me and much more. May I encourage you to let your friends know how truly special they are to you.

Friendship has true meaning, a simple gifted treasure

When you’re feeling a little stuck, or a partner for your leisure

A real friend will be there, always just for you

Holding your hand, to help you see tough times through

An empathetic listening ear, gentle hug or warm smile

A forever empowering note, that goes the extra mile

Friendship is so sweet, like sugar in your tea

Friends separate from the ‘I’ and turn it into ‘We’

Friendship is the gift, of endearment and inner strength

To support you indeed, friends will go to arms length

Today I reflect on my friends, who are so very dear

Like beautiful guardian angels, they bring me good cheer

So wherever your dreams take you, please remember to tell

Your friends that they are magical, like an enchanting wishing well

Happy are their hearts, that shine upon you

The closest of connections, without needing any glue

Now we share the laughter, and hopes for all time

I have friends in a million, I’d give them my last dime

So often we forget ,the joy they bring each day

Thank you my closest friends, in my heart for you I pray

Be Grateful for Life

Poem, Be Grateful For Life

If you want to uplift your mood instantly, just think about all the things in life that you are grateful for, it will certainly put a smile on your face.  That is what this poem is all about, I wrote it to express my gratitude in the present moment and boost my spirits – I felt great after it. What are you grateful for?

Be Grateful for Life

Create ‘flow’ in your life, let worries melt away

Yesterday has gone but the learning can stay

Tomorrow is not here, live for today

Enjoy each precious moment, in every way

Be grateful for life, the moon and the sun

Be grateful for your family and everyone

Smile at your neighbours and the stranger on the street

For your smile is contagious, to all that you meet

Happy is the heart, that glows from within

Embrace life and love and forever you’ll win

Sister Dear Sister

Poem, Sister Dear Sister

Often we go through life and we forget how influential our closest family members have been in our life.  This poem is a heartfelt sentiment to my wonderful and beautiful younger sister, who through the highs and lows of my life has always been there for me.  Thank you Leanne, you are so very special to me, more than you’ll ever know.

Sister Dear Sister

When we were young sis, we always used to fight

Early in the morning and mostly every night

I didn’t really appreciate back then, the special person in you

I now recognise that failing, so evident and true

But as we got older, I changed my poor sisterly ways

You became a best friend and we went on holidays

I love you my dear sister, you are so special to me

More than you’ll ever know, more than I let you see

I always feel so happy, when you are around

You cheer up the room, lots of laughter is your sound

And always when I need you, to my door you come a knocking

There with open arms and then we do some talking

You laugh at your own jokes and I find that very funny

Your spirit is so alive and your attitude is always sunny

Sister dear sister, you’ve made my life so great

I couldn’t ask for a better sister, 10 out of 10 you rate
