Try Your Best

Your untapped potential is eager to be set free

To all the “tryers” out there – I love you for it.

If you try and KEEP GOING, you’ll eventually get somewhere, but if you try and then stop trying, you’ll only go backwards.

Just like a beautiful flower, you are meant to flourish and blossom. Look to nature, to be your guide. Nature always yearns to grow, to dig deeper roots, to bloom and bear fruits. It’s your duty to personally develop and move yourself forward.

To thrive is a forever gift.

Do all you can to enhance and nurture your natural talents and you’ll evolve in this world.

Your untapped potential is eager to be set free.

Let the best of you flow out and it will find a way to connect and light up.

Your positive energy is more powerful than the sun.

Your inner glow shines brighter than the stars.

You are a sweet miracle.

Believe you have what it takes to dream it and do it.

Don’t wait for the opportunity, seek what you deserve – the BEST!

You are loved for YOU.

Remember that!

Getting it Wrong

The perfection is in our imperfections

Which path?

There’s nothing wrong with getting it wrong.  We are not perfect human beings – the perfection is in our imperfections.  Sometimes we make good decisions, sometimes we don’t, but what is important, is that you make a decision. Sitting in “limbo land”, not going anywhere, might actually be worse for you.

Is there a difficult decision you’re avoiding? Holding onto that worry, just won’t serve you well.

You want to move through life with as much ease and grace as possible.  Be thankful you get to experience the opportunities that are out there.

Life will never move in one straight horizontal line, it’s more like a wave – sometimes you’re surfing through gigantic waves and sometimes you’re sailing on calm waters.

Sailing on Calm Waters

In order to have the “wind at your back”, you must make decisions that feel right for you.  You must make choices that align with your core values and move you towards you – the true you.

Being true to yourself, may never always be easy, but in the long run, it will give you peace of heart and inner happiness.

Trust yourself to do the right thing…..always.

If you don’t trust yourself, think about why that is.  Build up self-trust bit by bit, by standing by your values and actually doing what you say you will do.

Make a commitment to yourself to honour you and act upon it daily.

If you faulter – that’s okay, forgive yourself quickly and just get back on it and start again.

You will always get another chance to trust yourself. Allow it.

Positive Thinking

Some days we glide through life with not a care in the world, and other days, we’re doubting every thought. Self-sabotage just won’t help you move forward, and when you’re in that negative thinking mode – you must do something positive to break the circuit. Know in advance what that positive action will be, so you can apply it immediately.

It could be something simple like… phoning a friend, taking a shower, going for a walk, reading a book, writing poetry, listening to your favourite music, saying positive affirmations, going to your cherished coffee spot, putting on a “feel good” movie, writing down a list of ten things you are grateful for, taking the dog a walk, going for a drive in your car, planning a nice trip to look forward to, meditating, trying out a new hobby……

This Beautiful World

There are so many things you can do to “change up” your mood and put you in a better state mentally, emotionally and physically.

Remember, this beautiful world has only one of wonderful you and your uniqueness adds to its bright specialness.

Aim to be the best that you can be –  for you first – and then everyone around you will benefit abundantly from your growth.

It all starts with you.

Be your own best friend.

I love you for you.

Energy for Life

Do things that align with your soul.

What gives you energy for life?

Think about the things you truly love doing and have a deep connection to. How does being immersed in these interests make you feel?

You want to be involved in activities that make you feel alive.

Do things that align with your soul.

Make time for you, the real you.

Peace of heart and tranquility of mind are fully embodied, when you dance to the tune of your bliss.

Happiness is a feeling that can be tapped into at any moment of your day.

If you think happy things, you cannot be sad – read that one again!

Therefore, the power of your self-happiness is just a happy thought away.

Happy thoughts, create happy feelings, which then lead to doing things that make you feel even more happier.

The happy thought comes first, but it’s the happy ‘feeling’ that ignites the positive action.

1.THINK

2.FEEL

3.DO

When I was heavily into my coaching, believe me, I studied this field constantly. I read countless books on everything related to self-mastery.

I not only shared it with my coachees but I applied all the learnings to myself. I had to test it out before sharing it.

This type of brain work takes a lot of practice – I mean MASSIVE amounts.

Basically, you have to reprogramme your mind to new thinking, and the old programne that’s been running for many years, does not want to budge. It is rigid, stuck, locked in, set in stone….but not impossible to change.

I know this stuff inside out and even I find it extremely difficult to master. I’ve been practising this daily since 2008. Yes, 16 years trying to reprogramme my mind.

I believe this new thinking, is growing strong roots and the fruits of this are starting to blossom.

It takes daily effort, increased self-awareness, strong self-belief and a deep knowing that true transformation is taking place.

At times, and especially at the beginning of this change process, your mind is going to be exhausted. It will take up so much of your mental energy, because your brain is creating a new set of neural pathways. I’m not going to go that deep into it, but if you are interested in reading more on how the brain can change, read books on the subject of neuroplasticityFASCINATING!

I believe the body is self-healing. How can something so perfectly formed, not have internal intelligence to heal?

I know you have more self-power than you can ever imagine.

I believe, we are super human beings, who haven’t yet fully discovered how to tap into our genius.

Your greatest potential is waiting to be unleashed – don’t fight it – let it out.

You are truly remarkable in every sense of the word.

Believe in you.

Believe in your capabilities.

Believe only magnificence lies before you.

Give yourself that giftwatch the short video I created below. 💛

The Mind

Problems

You are the solution

Where there is a problem, there is a solution – read that one again!

Your focussed energy is very powerful and it’s important to be aware of what you’re feeding your mind on – the problem or the solution?

Think about how you feel when you focus on the problem, versus how you feel focussing on the solution.

Problems feel heavy and restrictive – energy draining.

Solutions feel light and free – energy giving.

The body and mind feels better in the “light and free” mode – and that means being in a solution-focussed mindset.

Sometimes the problem weighs you down so much, you struggle to think about solutions  but I have a solution for that too!

Solutions to problems will flow more freely when your mind has space and light to think  – so what helps with that?

Well, everybody is different, but trying one of the following just may help;-

Going for a tranquil walk in nature.

Taking a refreshing shower.

Reading a good book.

Meeting a friend for coffee.

Phoning or visiting a family member.

Getting away for the day – being by the water refreshes the senses.

Cooking a nice meal or baking a yummy cake.

Decluttering your living space or work environment.

Creative arts or writing – poetry works for me.

Poetic Whispers by Clarabelle

Any form of exercise, such as swimming, cycling or running – in my former marathon training days I found road running to be so empowering for the body and mind.

Know this….solutions won’t come free and easy in a negative mindset…switching to an attitude of gratitude will help those solutions flow like a river. Write down three things you are grateful for.

Problems are temporary, like clouds passing by…..visualise that right now.

How do you think this post came about today? Of course, I had a problem and I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to do some creative writing – now my mind is more positive and open to solutions.

Remember this….YOU ARE THE SOLUTION to every challenge that comes your way.

Stand strong in the face of adversity and explore all possibilities to change things for the better.

Right now, in this very moment, you hold GREAT POWER.

It’s time for you to tap into your true potential and BELIEVE.

Future Romance

romancing with your future…

I’m an avid fan of Dr Joe Dispenza’s work and when I hear him talking, I feel fully aligned.

I plan to go on one of his retreats or workshops in the future and I just know it will be a life changing experience.

This morning I was listening to one of his interviews where he was talking about romancing with your future – I LOVE THAT!

His words hit deep and I was immediately transported to my future dream life…..today, and feeling all the beauty and abundance it exudes.

That’s what it takes you see – the strength of self-belief,  the deepest knowing, and a calm open mindset, to be aligned with the true you.

Know what you want in life and where you want to be, then dance with this beautiful vision in your heart, mind and soul.

Amazing opportunities are everywhere – now feel what that feels like – an elevated mind can reach any height and achieve any dream.

Our paths have crossed for a reason, so use it to your advantage.

Keep your vibration high – the only way is up!

Take a Break

Take a break…

If you need to rest, then you must rest – your body and mind will thank you for it.

After a little break, you will return refreshed and re-energised – ready to level up.

If these words are speaking to you, well you know what you MUST do.

This is for you…

Take a Break

Take could care,
of the person that’s you,
you’ll then shine like a star,
in whatever you do.

Rest when you need it,
just take a break,
recharge the batteries,
before you awake.

Life can be exciting,
but over-stretching too,
your passion will not fade,
it lives inside of you.

Create the space,
the mind deserves,
relax the body,
to build up reserves.

Take a deep breath,
detox the soul,
this self caring change,
will make you feel whole.

By the River

there’s magic in the air

Let’s take a morning stroll down by the river…

Richmond Upon Thames

It all served very well for a beautiful day in Richmond Upon Thames recently.

Sunny blue skies

Vibrant green trees

Tranquil waters

Freshest air

Calm ambience

You’re worth all that beauty and more.

Take a meaningful walk of gratitude along the river and soak up nature’s gift.

Take time to know how truly blessed you are and be thankful for the opportunity to experience it.

In this moment now, believe your dreams are a reality and feel those amazing feelings of abundance.

There’s magic in the air – can you feel it?

May your heart shine like the brightest sun….always.

High on the Highlands

Embrace the famous “Highland Welcome”

Snowy Cairngorm Mountains

The cold winters in the Highlands of Scotland may not be for everyone, but when it comes to its majestic natural beauty – well that is just beyond magical!

I lived and worked in the Cairngorms National Park area a few times over the years and that famous “Highland Welcome”, truly is extra special.

The Highlands of Scotland have been truly blessed with the most breathtaking scenary, wondrous wildlife, picturesque lakes… but for me, and more importantly, the BEST locals you will EVER meet. The people, for me, win a 5 star accolade everytime.

Beautiful Boat of Garten

The super friendliness, warm community spirit, caring attitude and helpful ways of the Highland residents, will be tattooed in my heart forever.

Some of my favourite places to visit there are Boat of Garten, Aviemore, Cairngorm Mountains, Inverness City Centre, Isle of Skye and Loch Morlich Beach.

Photo Stop Highlands Coach Tour

There are many beautiful forest walks and nature trails in and around Boat of Garten to Aviemore – I used to walk and run these daily.

The Cairngorm Mountains are simply spectacular and in my former marathon training days, I failed miserably trying to run up them….what was I thinking!

The River Ness runs through Inverness City Centre and it makes for a beautiful early morning walk.

We did an organised tour from Inverness to Skye and the 12 hour coach tour was such a memorable experience that I would totally recommend.

Forest Walk Boat of Garten

Also, if you get the opportunity, a boat trip on the waters of the Loch Ness is just dreamy…we didn’t see the Loch Ness Monster but did see a Fighter Jet in training…..SUPER WOW!

There is just something about Loch Morlich Beach that captivates my soul. I would visit here almost daily soaking in the freshest air, standing on golden sand, looking out onto the calmest lake with the snow-capped Cairngorm mountains in the backdrop – this is THEE place – MY place.

Where to stay? Well for me, there’s a few places I would totally recommend…

The Boat House Guesthouse in the beautiful village of Boat of Garten…ask for Harry Hancock the owner, tell him Clarabelle sent you and he might just give you a discount! Harry is famous in the area for his BIG BREAKFASTS…..10 out 10 ratings everytime and he truly deserves it! Ask Harry about anything in the Highlands and he’ll tell you everything you need to know and more.

Highland Lochs and Nature Trails

The Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore…if you’re looking for the complete “Highland Tourist” package this Hotel has it all. It does great homemade Scottish food and puts on live local entertainment….you’ll be jigging the Highland fling in no time.

We’ll be heading back to the Highlands again soon and we’re so excited about it….I think in a few years time the holiday home will be purchased and I know exactly which one I want to buy!

Highland Lochs and Lakes

As a born and bred Scottish lass myself, please get in touch if you want to know more – I’ve got you covered.

Go see the world, you won’t regret it!

Siem Reap Beyond the Temples

I have never been so blown away by such mastery and grandeur.

The Rife Guide

With a title like this, I am in no way minimizing the sheer amazement that is Angkor Wat. Truly, I have never been so blown away by such mastery and grandeur. I usually max out on museums and historic sites after a few hours each day. Something was different at Angkor Wat. Each temple held a unique frequency, and I became more energized as I temple-hopped. If it were allowed, I would have happily slept out there. LOL. There is a wealth of information about visiting Angkor Wat online, so I wanted this article to help you differently. Here, I’ll share my favorite things I did in Siem Reap beyond the temples.

First, I’ll offer a few tips I wish I had known before visiting. Then, we’ll head north of Angkor Wat and explore beyond, where I’ll share some of the adventurous and off-the-beaten-path activities I enjoyed outside the temple grounds. To clarify, the ancient city of Angkor Wat is inside the modern city of Siem Reap. I’ll keep these concise and to the point. Here are my top 11 pointers not to miss beyond the temples!

Angkor Wat

1. Logistics

Passes

When I visited Angkor Wat in June 2024, there were three types of passes available: a one-day, three-day and seven-day pass. If you have the time, I highly recommend the seven-day pass. It allows you to explore the grounds at a more relaxed pace and visit remote temples that many rushed travelers don’t have the opportunity to see.

The Rife Guide

Routes

There are two main viewing routes in Angkor Wat – the Big Circuit and the Small Circuit, most definitely traversed on separate days. My friends and I hired a TukTuk driver for the Big Circuit, which was the best use of our time and incredibly fun! The next day, I tackled the Small Circuit on my bicycle, which provided both a workout and enjoyment.

There was something about biking alone through the jungle that made me feel like a real adventurer, especially when I got stuck in a torrential downpour for 1.5 hours 🙆🏽‍♀️. I recommend these transportation methods and they are a bit rugged and keep you close to the earth. You can rent or hire an air-conditioned car, to me this felt too modern for the landscape.

Pro tip ~ there are two temples 20-30 minutes outside the Big Circuit called Phnom Bok and Banteay Samre. We had our driver take us to these for an additional small fee. Now I wouldn’t suggest more temples unless they were worth it, and these REALLY REALLY ARE!

Put on your athlete cap, as Phnom Bok requires 630 steps up to this 9th-10th century temple. This is no joke in triple-digit weather, my friends. Apart from the crumbling Phnom Bok there is also a gorgeous Buddhist temple atop. You will feel alone on top of the world up here.

Banteay Samre is down the street as you head back into town. This temple blew me away because the carvings are well-preserved. I think this is because of its tucked-away location and the fact that it attracts far fewer visitors than the temples on the circuits.

Food & Drink

There are cafes and restaurants scattered throughout the grounds of Angkor Wat which offer a variety of food, drinks and souvenirs. You won’t go hungry out there! If you have specific preferences for snacks and hydration, I recommend bringing them in a backpack. Additionally, it’s wise to research the weather for your visit. Depending on the season, you may want to pack a rain jacket and umbrella, just in case.

2. The Angkor Wat App

This app proved invaluable as it maps out both routes within its interface, conveniently numbered in viewing order – a stroke of genius! Clicking on each temple provides a brief history, which was informative. While the basic version sufficed, in hindsight, I wish I had opted for the upgraded version for additional features and information. The app was particularly helpful when I explored alone on my bike, keeping me on course through the behemoth jungle.

3. The Secret Angkor Thom Trail

Anything secret intrigues me, especially when lost cities are involved. So when a local tipped me off to the 12km trail around Angkor Thom, my ears perked up. As you enter through any archway entrances surrounding the perimeter, you’ll find small dirt trails leading up to the wall (I entered at the South Gate). On top of the wall is a perfect trail for walking, running, or biking. You’ll encounter wildlife, a jungle to your right, a moat to your left and hidden temples along the shaded path. I saw no other trekkers, only a few bicycle groups during my walk.

Walking is one of my favorite activities, and this trail in this setting made it extra special – it was one of my favorite walks ever. I suggest bringing a hat, plenty of water, a fully charged phone and a few downloaded podcast episodes. Walking casually, I completed the full loop in 3 hours and 22 minutes. Talk about experiencing Angkor Wat without the crowds!

The Rife Guide

Siem Reap

I think you will be pleasantly surprised and enamored with the town of Siem Reap. It is walkable, safe and has the modern conveniences you want. Now, this is not a food guide, but there are a few places I MUST point out. These are places I will always revisit when I return.

4. Restaurants

It is hard to have a bad meal in Siem Reap. That said, I especially fell in love with these restaurants. The first two are quick, delicious and mission-driven establishments. The third was such a comforting, cozy experience tasting Geeta’s food; it reminded me of my Nana’s cooking!

• Wild Creative Bar & Spring Rolls Restaurant – anyone who has designed a restaurant concept around spring rolls has my heart. To me, spring rolls are close to tacos regarding a near-perfect meal. Light, easy, crunchy, flavorful, creative and requires sauce ~ bliss! Wild has come up with some unique rolls and dipping sauces. I packed a few of their rolls for a picnic one day inside the temples and that was the move.

• Muffin Man – these guys served me one of the best muffins I have ever had. Along with sweet treats, they nail healthy salads and sandwiches. With two convenient locations in town and delicious coffee, Muffin Man is a must-try. Don’t miss reading the story of how they came to be, as it absolutely moving, grab the tissues.

• Serendib Srilankan Cuisine – go meet Geeta and eat her incredible food! She is a nurse by day and chef extraordinaire by night. The sweetest soul and her food will transport you to Sri Lanka and beyond.

5. Bars

There are plenty of bars in SR, but these watering holes were unique and unforgettable.

• Asana Old Wooden House – a cozy, perfectly lit gem inside Pub Street’s bustle. This cocktail-forward bar is a beautiful example of traditional Khmer architecture. These houses are known for their intricate wooden carvings and elevated stilts to protect against flooding during the monsoon season. You could see lighting up a cigar with the most interesting man in the world at Asana!

• Laundry – I first walked by Laundry and thought it was a laundromat. Nope! It is a groovy, low-key bar with a melting pot of travelers, expats and locals. The pool table, along with the hot peanuts and local draft beer, are the main attractions. The perfect place to decompress after a day of temples!

• Elephant Bar – because who doesn’t love a little pinky-up moment? Located inside Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, Elephant Bar boasts a well-appointed setting. They host a welcoming happy hour from 4-6p, open to outside guests. Beyond the delightful drinks, I was charmed by the friendly staff, world-class art and snacks (of course!).

Honorable Mention – although not a restaurant or bar, I highly recommend visiting Tribe Art Gallery. They house incredible art created by locals and other artists throughout Asia. The meaning and intention behind each artist’s work really drew me in. Check their hours; they were open Friday through Sunday evenings when I visited.

North of Angkor Wat

For the adventures below, I rented a scooter. There is nothing like riding a scooter through Cambodia’s countryside, as this is a wonderfully rural part of the world. It did a lot for the little kid in me. Don’t miss this type of transportation during your exploration beyond the temples!

6. Banteay Srey Temple

Banteay Srey Temple is known for its distinctive red sandstone construction, unique among the Angkorian temples. This beauty dates back to the late 10th century, making it older than Angkor Wat, built in the early 12th century. It is celebrated for its decorative intricacy, showcasing some of the finest examples of classical Khmer craftsmanship from the Angkorian era. The artistry here was astounding. You will need your temple pass to enter.

7. Cambodia Landine Museum

Landmines in Cambodia are a tragic legacy from decades of conflict, including the Vietnam War and the Khmer Rouge regime, which left the country heavily contaminated with unexploded ordnance. This museum tells the brave and heroic story of Aki Ra ~ a soldier, humanitarian, hero, de-miner, husband and father. These accounts of the past are heavy and hard to process. Understanding these gut-wrenching pieces of history allows us to honor and acknowledge those who endured unfathomable hardships. For me, it’s a way to pay my respects.

South of Angkor Wat

The Rife Guide

8. Lotus Farm Siem Reap

I mapped myself here to break up my drive to Tonle Sap Lake and was sure glad I did! During the brief tour of the farm I saw and learned about all the sustainable ways they use the lotus flower. These include making thread for clothing, food, vegan leather, candles, perfume, tea and much more. Don’t miss the gift shop downstairs + lotus tea & biscuits upstairs!

9. Tonle Sap Lake

Tonle Sap Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia 😲. It has sustained Cambodian communities for centuries, providing fertile fishing and agricultural grounds. The lake is home to floating villages, where houses and structures are built on stilts or platforms. This allows inhabitants to adapt to the lake’s changing water levels and move their homes + communities as needed depending on water levels during wet and dry seasons. Visiting the floating villages is a hands-on way to understand the importance of this lake. Can you imagine moving your home because you know a monsoon is coming? All I can say is respect.

The Rife Guide

10. Phnom Kraom

Phnom Kraom is home to a Buddhist monastery where monks live and practice daily rituals, contributing to the serene atmosphere atop the hill. You can explore this Buddhist temple, which provides panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Cruise to Phnom Kraom after Tonle Sap for sunset, as this is one of the highest points in Siem Reap. Viewing the floating village from this hillside provides a colorful vision. You will need to show your temple pass to enter.

East of Siem Reap

11. Kulen Elephant Forest Camp

My last suggestion beyond the temples is Kulen Elephant Forest Camp. I booked this experience directly online. They offer roundtrip transportation in an air-conditioned car, which is amazing. Our guide picked us up downtown, and we drove one hour east to Kulen Elephant Forest to meet these majestic giants.

These elephants were rescued from working in tourism at Angkor Wat in 2017. By 2019, elephant rides at the temples had stopped. It is wonderful to see how well taken care of they are, these caretakers are doing a top notch job. The time spent at the camp includes making elephant food, feeding, walking, and hanging with the elephants in the forest. If you are an elephant lover, this experience will be a dream come true! The money spent on visits helps with their feed, care and conservation efforts. I paid $90 USD.

Good Bye, Mysterious Angkor Wat

When I think about Angkor Wat, it evokes mystery and intrigue. There are many theories about how the Khmer built the largest and most prosperous urban city of the 12th century. How did they cut and lay each stone so precisely? How did they carve the stones without cracking them? As curious as I am, some things are better left enigmatic. I believe ancient civilizations had access to higher consciousness ~ visioning, dreaming and creating as they were not so focused on climbing the corporate ladder, paying bills, social media and running carpools ~ if you know what I mean?

I hope you enjoy the temples with your body, mind and soul. May they touch you on a deep cellular level, activating a sense of mystery and wonder. And I hope these ways of experiencing Siem Reap beyond the temples round out your visit in a fulfilling way. May we all have the privilege of dreaming up something magical in this lifetime!

With all my love,

Bekah

Why Your Brain Hurts?

take your brain into an information free zone

Your brain, with all its wonderful facets and zillions of neurological connections, really needs to be taken care of.

When my brain hurts and what I really mean is, when it’s tired, exhausted and/or drained – I just know it needs a rest from all the crazy noise and distractions out there.

Your brain is on the go all of the time, doing things like – keeping you safe, helping you learn and supporting your creative imagination.

It’s constantly picking up inner and outer signals to help you function most effectively on a moment to moment basis – no wonder it hurts sometimes.

So next time your amazing brain has moved into overload drive, give it some downtime and fresh space to clear out the clutter and make way for true clarity of thought.

Your brain is a wondrous miracle that enables you to bring out the best of you and helps you to demonstrate your inner magic.

So don’t go popping a paracetemol and hope that all the unwanted head pressure will all go away. Take your brain into an information free zone and let it mingle with absolutely nothing.

Disconnect your brain and give it time to reboot – you’ll most definitely feel like a different person.

  2. Be open and honest with your feelings, it will help people to see the true side of you.
  3. Be helpful and caring towards others and seek first to understand before being understood.
  4. Be a positive and upbeat kind of person – no one wants to be around a drainer – sorry, they just don’t!
  5. Be kind and friendly as much as you can because these qualities are always remembered in you by others.
  6. Really focus on developing yourself as much as possible and read books on other people who have already succeeded in life.
  7. Never judge another – you have not walked in that person’s shoes and you don’t know the difficult experiences other people have had to deal with. No one lives a perfect life, believe that!

  9. Look after your health and wellbeing and that includes your mental, physical and spiritual.
  10. Keep your finances in check and do your best to never lose money but instead work out how to grow your money and how to make it work for you.

Be THEE Leader

BIG THINKERS with a purposeful VISION

I was a Professional Executive Coach for many years and really did do very well in it. I met the most AMAZING leaders, whom I learned so much from. I found similar qualities in the leaders who made the BEST progress and I share below some of these:-

An incredibly ambitious growth mindset;

Deep listeners with a real eagerness to become more self-aware;

A true drive and enthusiasm for positive self-change;

Powerful and fast acting on the implementation
of new ideas and learning;

A desire to become a better leader and to empower others
to see their own leadership capabilities;

An unbelieveable ability to turn things around where needed;

Internally honest and seekers of truth to help them
get out of their own way;

An energetic passion for meaningful results
within themselves and others;

A first class ability to know what needs done and
the onboard accountability for doing it;

Aspirational in their thinking and inspirational in their doing;

BIG THINKERS with a purposeful VISION;

And, let me tell you, this impressive list of leadership qualities goes on and on!

I am proud to say, I worked with the GREATEST in their field and I will never forget how ELATED and ENERGISED we both would feel after a truly progressive coaching session.

If you are in a leadership position and are currently struggling with your current set up or difficult strategic decisions – seek out a recommended professional executive coach or business mentor, who will ignite your inner drive, deeply question your current position and open up your own strategic thinking to achieve the necessary results.

There are an abundance of leadership coaching tools out there, that a highly skilled coach or mentor can share with you, in order to help you progress FAST!

Leaders have a lot of heavy plates spinning, whilst under a tremendous amount of work and personal stress – maybe it’s time to seek out the expertise you need.

Don’t stay stuck and never stay stagnant!

Be THEE Leader!

Monday Morning Blues?

you deserve to experience the best of opportunities out there

I can honestly say, I haven’t had the Monday Morning Blues for a good few years now and I never want to have them in the future either.

I remember, in my much younger days, getting these feelings, which often started on the Sunday evening!

I know, most of you can relate to those feelings of ‘dread’ going into a job that, for your own reasons, didn’t feel right.

I made a promise to myself a few years back that if I ever got so low again going into a job, I would sort that stuff out super fast.

Thankfully, I know what I want from a job and how I can utilise my skills and experience to contribute effectively. I also know how I want to be led and empowered to bring my best game to the table on a daily basis.

You have the true capacity and pure potential to achieve everything you want from your work and you are in control of whether you make it or break it.

I believe you deserve to experience the best of opportunities out there, so make sure you bring your ‘A’ game every single time.

There is this great quote by Rumi, “what you seek, is seeking you”, and for me, this quote is a wonderful reminder to never doubt your capabilities and be mindful of the many doors that are open for you – just walk right in.

You got this – always!

Because You Shine

I am here because you shine

I closed my eyes and walked into the light.

There I met an older and much wiser woman.

She smiled at me.

She held a beautiful azure blue flower in her hand.

She took my hand and placed the flower in it.

Without any words, she gave me this message…..

Your magical heart can make the invisible visible.
I am here because you shine.
The blue of this flower represents the ocean and the sky.
The petals represent the fragility of life.
The wonder is not in the flower.
The miracle is in you.

The old lady then disappeared.

The flower turned into tiny little seeds in the palm of my hand.

I then knew, it was time to self-nurture and grow.

I honestly did think about NOT sharing this article with you but then I thought, “it’s my online magazine and I want to be true and authentic to myself”, so that is why I am sharing it.

I have the deepest faith and belief that all my prayers are answered, I really do believe that and I have strong evidence of that since I was a child.

The Story of Life

best days

What’s Your Story?

What’s your story?  Where is your heart’s passion taking you?  Today, in this moment, tomorrow is unknown, with no guarantees of what will be, until it happens.  You have right now, you have this moment, yes, pinch yourself, this one, right now, this moment…..to do something that is going to enhance the story of your life.  This next poem is all about that., I hope you like it.  Much love to you today, Clarabelle

The Story of Life

The story of life,
its twists and turns,
a loving a heart,
a flame that burns.
Head in the clouds,
Dreams at my door.
Living life curiously,
wonders to explore.
To never give up,
To never give in.
A stubborn mind,
Or an attitude to win.
For all you have,
Is here and now.
It’s in this moment,
Take a bow.
For what you seek,
Is seeking you.
Words of wisdom,
do come true.
So believe in your soul,
Have faith in the dark.
Your story of life.
Is making its mark.

In Time We Heal

Original Song:  In Time We Heal

I received one of the biggest compliments ever recently from my friend.  We were getting the bus down to Manchester City Centre to celebrate the New Year and she told me she really liked one of my original songs, “In Time We Heal”, then, to my wonderful surprise, she started singing it and she knew the words….wow I was so chuffed.  She said to me that she really liked the song and played and sang along to it many many times.  Well, I was blown away with delight, that was such an unexpected thing to hear because I had no idea she listened to my stuff.  Her telling me that really made my day, as a matter of fact it made my whole trip.

Recording Studio

I am really excited because I head to the professional recording studio for the first time on 8th January to record 7 of my original songs for an EP (Extended Play), so soon you will hear them on this blog.  Below is a sample Youtube video of me practising my original song. “In Time We Heal” and also I have attached the Soundcloud link to Gary Stitt singing it – Gary arranged the piano backing track for this song and I think he did an amazing job.

Gary Stitt Sings, In Time We Heal

What is the Song About?

The song “In Time We Heal” is about going through tough times in life but overcoming them in the end and I am sure we can all relate to this.  All my songs are based on my own experiences or experiences of people very close to me, I think that is why people are connecting with them so much.

Listen to the words and stay strong my beautiful friend because indeed, “In Time YOU Will Heal”.

Road Running (Guest Post)

Here is a guest post I did for NYC Fit Food and Fashion Blog on Road Running!! Clarabelle

nycfitfoodfashion's avatarNyc Fit Food Fashion!

It is a real pleasure for me to write this Guest Post for this NYC Fit Food Fashion Blog. I
thought I would share with you a poem about one of my favourite forms of exercise, which
is road running. I started road running in 2007 and since then I have completed the New
York, London and Loch Ness Marathons along with some 10Ks and Half marathons too.

Running

NYC Marathon

The reason I was inspired to do my first marathon was because I worked for a local charity at the time and we were looking for some different ways to raise money and running the NYC marathon seemed to be a good choice for all involved.

Running

Battling the Scottish Weather

It certainly was a challenge for me but I was fully committed to it.  I was a keen fan of going to the gym but I must say running on…

Best Ever Self Prayer

Clarabelle Quotes, Beautiful Dreams Amongst Nature

True Self

I honestly did think about NOT sharing this article with you but then I thought, “it’s my online magazine and I want to be true and authentic to myself”, so that is why I am sharing it.

I would say that I am more of spiritual person these days than deeply religious but I do love to pray everyday.  I know prayer isn’t for everyone but I really do believe in the power of prayer. I have the deepest faith and belief that all my prayers are answered, I really do believe that and I have strong evidence of that since I was a child.

God Mother

My God Mother, Bella, who passed away many years ago, always had the deepest faith in the power of prayer and I guess she passed that on to me, it is only now when I am reflecting on it, I really believe she did, in such a positive way.

I remember when I was a child my Aunt Bella gave me this prayer to read at night, it was a prayer to give me the strength and confidence to do well in my education and studies, I remember I said that prayer every night for years and years, never a night went by without me saying that prayer – I know that prayer helped me do really well at School and University.

New Prayer

I created a new prayer this evening, I was doing my housework earlier and listening to some inspirational videos on YouTube and I just thought to myself, “I want to create a meaningful and heartfelt prayer to say everyday”.  This prayer is quite personal to me and I know this prayer will definitely be answered, maybe you will want to say it too, or indeed make up your own special personal prayer.

Prayer In My Heart

So I share this prayer with you today, I feel this prayer in my heart, I feel it.  I hope you connect with it in some way and if you are supportive of the power of prayer then please feel free to use it and share it with others.

PS. I love you Aunt Bella and I miss your laugh and happy spirit and I know my Mum does too.

Best Ever Self Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for listening to me and thank you for answering this prayer.

I have deep faith in the positive changes that are currently happening to me.

I have true belief in the power of this prayer and the knowing that I am achieving everything that my heart desires.

Thank you for helping me to stay strong, patient, confident, creative, powerful, happy and forever abundant.

Thank you for my heart’s beauty, perfect health, amazing wealth and for giving me the happiest spirit and soul.

I feel very blessed and so grateful for all that I am and for all that I am becoming.

I say this prayer to you today, to offer you my deepest gratitude for helping me to truly help myself turn my life around for the better and for me becoming my Best Ever Self.

Thank you Dear God for answering my prayer today and always.

Video Poem: The New Me

Which Way Now?

Vision Wall

You deserve the best in life, you deserve to have everything you have ever wanted and I definitely believe that is so possible.  This next poem below was created by me after I completed my Vision Wall, way back in 2012.  If you want to know more about how to create your very own Vision Wall to empower you to make positive changes in your life, then please click on this link: https://clarabelle.org/personal-development/vision-wall/

The New Me

I can honestly the words in this poem “The New Me” definitely ring true for me and I am happy to say that I feel that I am “The New Me” – not a different person but just more of who I really am…..I suppose you could say I have come home.  I do hope you enjoy it and thinking ahead to the New Year, creating your very own Vision Wall might just give you the push that you need to turn your dreams into reality.

The New Me

I searched for,

the new me,

 My treasure trove,

revealed it to be.

A vision of faith,

I believe in it all,

Empowering language,

on my vision wall.

It focuses on,

the inside out,

The language is powerful,

I hear it shout.

Go on, stand out

from the crowd,

Make a positive start,

feel very proud.

So I welcome you,

to try it one day,

Create your vision

and go your own way.

December – Question of the Month

Clarabelle Quotes, Where there is love

Question of the Month

At the beginning of every month I pose a question for you to think about and answer for yourself.  I also provide you with my own answer to this question.  Below is this month’s question.

Usually I offer you up a question that relates to moving forward with your life for e.g. making a change or a question that will help you to become more self aware.  This month’s question is a little bit more simple (well, for me) 🙂 .

Question:

What is your most favourite piece of music or song, right now, in this moment and why?

My Answer:

I really do love lots of songs and music compilations, I have a deep respect and appreciation for music and I really do admire the musical talents of Artists.

The one song that I have been listening to recently and really does inspire me, is a song called “Try” by the Band “The Modern Hearts”.  I really LOVE this song, because I can relate to the words, which uplift me, inspire me and awaken my soul inside….to me, this song is quite simply magical and captivating.  When I play this song, I want to dance, I just start jumping and moving around on the living room floor like a 2 year old on Christmas Eve excitedly waiting for Santa to arrive.  What an amazing impact a song can have on you.

Here is a SoundCloud link to the wonderfully inspiring song “Try” by the Band “The Modern Hearts”, right now, this song is number one in my heart and soul: https://soundcloud.com/modernheart/try

I would really love to know what is your favourite song and why and also what positive impact it has on you too?

Please share on the comments section below.  🙂 🙂 🙂

Christmas Poetry: I Miss You Forever

 Christmas Tree

Christmas Poem

Every day between now and Christmas I am going to share a Christmas Poem with you. The one below speaks from my heart this Christmas time.

Loved Ones

Christmas is a beautiful time to spend with your family and close friends and this is often a time when you also think about your loved ones who can’t be with you right now and I know you can relate to that, just like me.

This next Christmas poem is all about that and this one is dedicated to my Wonderful Dad in heaven, “I Miss You Forever”.

I Miss You Forever

I miss you forever,
forever and a day.
But it seems to get harder,
when Christmas comes our way.

I think of your smile,
I think of your love.
When Christmas is with us,
And you are above.

Kindness is in the air,
All I want to give to you.
Is the biggest ever hug,
This is what I’d do.

If only Santa Claus,
Could make my dreams come true.
We’d be putting up the tree,
Instead, I’m feeling blue.

But Christmas is upon us,
and you are in my heart.
Shining like a beacon,
Flowing through every part.

I miss you forever,
and on this Christmas Day.
I love you more than you’ll ever know.
And in my heart for you I pray.

Christmas Bells

The sound of love,
The sound of joy.
Giggles and smiles,
From every girl and boy.

The sound of hope,
The sound of fun.
Christmas bells ring,
Uplifting everyone.

Treasure this time,
Play in the snow.
With Christmas jingles,
And Santa on show.

Let the tree,
Light up the room.
Give warmth this Christmas
Let the Christmas flowers bloom.

How to Plan Your Life?

Life Planner

Most people spend more time planning their yearly holiday/vacation that they do their life.

What do I mean by life planning?

I believe it is about YOU exploring some of the the following things:

  • Looking at want you specifically want from life.
  • What experiences you want to have?
  • What contribution you want to make?
  • Identifying and understanding your core values.
  • Living your life in alignment with your core values.
  • Aligning your goals and desires to these.
  • Making a plan of action on how you are going to achieve that.
  • Putting the plan into action i.e do the “doing part”.
  • Measuring progress along the way.
  • Celebrating successes.
  • Reflecting on your learning experiences.
  • Continuously developing and implementing feedback.
  • Reviewing and fine tuning your goals along the way.
  • Setting an appropriate timescale for achieving these goals

Some of you may not know this, but I am a fully qualified Coach (Executive, Life & Career), I have had my own Coaching, Leadership/Management Training and Human Resources Business since 2008.  I work with clients in business and privately on the above stuff, I also do tons of work on this myself for my own self development.

If you don’t make a plan or set goals for yourself it can be really easy to “just drift by”, like a cloud in the sky and sometimes helping other people to live out their dreams more than your own.  I am all for helping people with their dreams but this should not be at the detriment to your own self.

Take some time today to think about what you REALLY want from life and how to live your life more in alignment with your core values.  When you do this you will be moving more towards long term life fulfillment rather than just quick fixes and short bursts of happiness.

Maybe just maybe your were meant to read this post today and maybe just maybe it will inspire you to take that first step towards living the life you truly desire and truly deserve. Don’t be a drifting cloud in the sky, be that SUN shining bright and full of forever happiness.

Much love to you today, Clarabelle

Do One Thing

Life is too short

‘Me’ Time

Do one thing today that makes you happy, I mean something you haven’t done for a while, something that you’ve missed doing, something that you enjoy doing.  Today make some time to do that.  Often we get so caught up in our busy lives we forget the special ‘me‘ time that we all deserve.  Just for today do that one thing that makes you happy – I know you will be glad you did.

Much love to you today, Clarabelle

Snap Happy

Balmaha Bay

Today I am going to go on a day trip to Balmaha Bay, Balloch, Scotland with my mum and during that trip I am going to be “snap happy” as I will be taking some beautiful photos for my new eBook that’s coming out, “It’s All About Gratitude”.  I am excited about doing this and it will also be really lovely to spend a day with my mum.

I love Balmaha Bay, for me it is a place of deep beauty and peaceful tranquility and sometimes this is just what the doctor ordered.  🙂

In 2011 I wrote a poem about Balmaha, I have already shared it on this blog before, but here it is again, just in case you missed it first time round:

Balmaha Lake
A frozen Balmaha Lake January 2011

Sweet Balmaha Bay

Balmaha, an inspiring place,
Oh how I love, your beautiful face.
The silent lake, speaks many words,
A magical paradise, beneath the flight of birds.
My soul’s at home, when I visit you,
I feel at one, below the sky so blue.
As I tie a yellow ribbon, around the old oak tree,
I appreciate your world, for all to see.
The air is clean, fresh and new,
The shimmering sunlight, makes a stunning view.
And the many boats, who sail in leisure,
Uplifting spirits, you provide great pleasure.
In hail or rain, sunshine or snow,
Your tranquil beauty, will always show.
For the depths of your heart, are in everyone,
Sweet Balmaha Bay under the horizon sun.

 Poem By Clarabelle, 2011

Wherever you go today and whatever you do, I do hope it brings you sweet happiness and fulfillment, much love to you Clarabelle.  🙂

What mood are you in today?

After the storm

Think Feel Do

I want you to think about this, how do you usually respond to the people and circumstances around you when you are in a low mood? Chances are if you’re anything like me, not very positively. Wouldn’t it be best then to wait until your mood changes to a much more positive mood before you respond to situations. Yes, I know you can’t wait forever because this is life and you will want to be getting on with things, but if you take ‘time’ out of the equation and focus more on changing your thinking about the situation then ‘time’ will not be the main issue……you just have to change your thinking. You see it’s all really about THINK, FEEL, DO – let me explain. Your thinking comes first, which then determines how you feel which is then followed by what you do, so if you don’t like what you’re doing or how you’re feeling change the way you think.

High Mood

I want to encourage you to really think about what you’re thinking before you respond to anything in your life. When you are in a high mood you will be thinking good thoughts and good feelings and behaviour will follow. When you are in a high mood you are much better equipped to tap into your true wisdom and you will find it much easier to come up with the solution to any problems you have.

Hopefully this post will give you some food for thought.

“When you’re in a high mood, life looks good. You have perspective and common sense.” (Richard Carlson)

I encourage you today to think your way out of a low mood and into a high mood, then respond to what needs done, I am sure you will get much better results all round.

Lots of love to you today, as always, Clarabelle.

Take on the Impossible!!

A little bit of inspiration goes a long long way.  I came across this YouTube video a few weeks back, you may already have seen it but I feel I just had to share it on here, it is very empowering indeed.  Arthur in the video is such a true inspiration to each and everyone of us, may his story inspire you to take on what others see as the “impossible”.

Much love to you in this very moment, we all need a little bit of love to come our way, Clarabelle.

What is your colour?

Over the last year or so I have had an increasing desire to buy items that are the colour red, below is a list of some ‘red’ items I have purchased recently:

  • Red Sofa
  • Red Diary
  • Red Bikini
  • Red Coat
  • Red Lamp
  • Red Kitchen Tiles
  • Red Bathroom Mat
  • Red Bed Covers
  • Red Lipstick
  • Red Pen
  • Red Mini iPad Cover
  • Red Microwave

And the list goes on and on……………

Before that I had the desire to purchase items azure blue for e.g.

  • Azure blue Car
  • Azure blue Running Trainers
  • Azure blue Running Top
  • Azure blue ‘Clarabelle’ Butterfly Logo

And the list goes on…….

I originally didn’t really think that any of the above had any real significance to anything but after I had a meaningful conversation with someone about it, I now realise there is a very strong connection to the colours I am attracting into my life and what this actually means.

Chakras

A couple of weeks ago I was Chairing a Board meeting and before the meeting started I shared my desire for buying red with one of the newest Board members, John, who is a Reiki Master/Teacher (www.scottishreiki.co.uk).  I said to John, “I just can’t stop buy red”, as I stood there proudly wearing my red trench coat.

Chakra Colours

John explained to me how my buying of red relates to the different colours of the Chakras and he continued to explain to me what each colour meant. John expressed that my desire for red is a good thing and to continue to do what I am doing in terms of my own personal growth.  The Red Chakra relates to these positive traits:

  • Energetic
  • Courageous
  • Pioneering Spirit
  • Leadership Qualities
  • Strong Willed
  • Determined
  • Spontaneous
  • Confident

Red relates to self awareness. It is the area of survival and stability and your place on this earth.  The colour red provides the power from the earth and gives energy on all levels. It connects us to our physical body. Everything that is to be commenced needs the life vitality of red.” Extract from www.threeheartscompany.com

I then looked up the meaning of Blue in relation to the Chakras.  Blue is in relation to the Throat, the ability to verbalise and expressing truth through the power of the spoken word. Blue is the colour of the spirit and relates to self expression – speech, communication, the ability to communicate our needs and requirements; Spirit of truth and purpose.  This is a mentally-relaxing colour.  Connects us to holistic thought, and gives us wisdom and clarity enhancing communication and speech.”  Extract from www.threeheartscompany.com

I totally found this a fascinating connection with me starting up of this blog, expressing myself through lots and lots of poetry and songwriting.  I remember I had such strong desire for buying items of the colour blue at that time.

Cherry Positive

You may also remember a reblog I posted on here a couple of weeks ago, I was a Guest Blogger for the wonderful blog Cherry Positive and shared some life lessons on there, here is a link to it http://cherrypositive.com/2013/05/03/10-life-lessons-by-clarabelle/

The significance here is that Aviral Kulshreshtha introduced my blog with a very interesting take on what he called my ‘red‘ photo.  Here is an extract from that very blog post and Aviral’s introduction:

“Being a Science student, I always learned, ‘Red color has the highest wavelength’.’ The highest wavelength has the highest energy. This energy reflects from red colored pic, who inspired me at every bit of seconds and I truly feel lucky to have her on my ship of Life: Clarabelle.  Clarabelle means Bright. As I said, red color is the brightest color which reflects from her poetic heart and beautiful mind.”

Clarabelle, Red Colour Photo 23.03.13
Clarabelle, Red Colour Photo 23.03.13

Wow, I just feel the significance of the above expressions from both John and Aviral relate so much to me attracting the colour red into my life (and blue the year before that) – I believe this is in relation to the frequency of the vibration I am on.  High energy attracts high energy, thus my desire for the colour red.

I could be completely wrong here and it would be interesting to hear other thoughts on this, I am always open to new learnings.

What colour are you attracting into your life right now? What colour do you have a current desire for?

At the moment mine is vibrant ‘red‘ and I’m indeed “REaDy for Action”!!

Wishing you a colourful day today, full of many beautiful rainbow moments.

Much love to you, Clarabelle

What Are You Tolerating?

what are you tolerating

A Question to Ponder

You may not wish to answer straight away, you may wish to contemplate the question for a few minutes/hours/days or even a couple of weeks.  You don’t even need to post the answer on here, but it would be nice if you would and share your answers with others.  So here is your question:

What are you tolerating?

Here is my answer:

These days I don’t tolerate most things that don’t serve me well and I made that change for myself a while back after I came across this statement “You get what you tolerate”.  Wow, that was a transformational statement to me because it really made me think of what I was tolerating at that time in my life and didn’t wish to continue to tolerate.  This changed my thinking at that time and inspired positive change within me.

So these days, if I’m purely honest, I don’t put up with anything that I don’t want and that is because I have greater self-respect and self-love for myself, I have raised my personal standards and everyday I work towards living my life in alignment with my values.  My focus is on what I want out of life not what I don’t want and then I do what I can to achieve what I desire.  Sometimes this isn’t easy and I have to push past internal barriers but as long as I have moved one baby step closer to my goal, then I know I am progressing and I will definitely arrive.

You get what you tolerate and if you don’t like it, change it!!

London Marathon 2010
Clarabelle & Gina London Marathon 2010

It was the London Marathon on Sunday, 21 April 2013, and I just want to say a massive congratulations to everyone who took part in the run and also to the most amazing support from the thousands of people who stand for hours along the side of the road to cheer on the runners.  I have run a couple of marathons before so I really do know what it is like to feel the wonderful support and encouragement from the crowd, it really does motivate you as a runner and really puts a smile on your face.   I did the London marathon in 2010 with my good friend Gina and we raised a good amount of money for a charity which is very close to Gina’s heart, Alzheimer Scotland.  I don’t often share a lot of videos on this blog but I thought it might be nice to share the video I personally made in 2010 of our London Marathon experience, it is quite good fun to watch, you will see from the video how excited I am – so please be prepared.  I feel there is at least one more marathon in me and as I write this I am seriously contemplating doing another one this year – which one, I don’t know you, but I will let you know when I have decided.

So please enjoy the wee video, I hope it makes you smile and maybe even inspires you to take on the challenge of running a marathon.

Much love to you today, as always, Clarabelle.

Mental Health and Poetry

As of yesterday (02.4.13), I am now a fully Certified Mental Health First Aider, so what does that mean?

Mental Health First Aid, like any other type of first aid, is the help given to a person before appropriate professional help or treatment can be obtained.  First aid of any type has the following aims:

1.  To preserve life
2.  To prevent deterioration of any injury or illness
3.  To promote healing
4.  To provide comfort to the person who is ill, injured or distressed.

Mental Health First Aid is the help given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before other help can be accessed.  A MHFA is not a therapist, however, people are trained in:

  • How to ask about suicide.
  • How to recognise the signs of mental health problems or distress.
  • How to provide initial help.
  • How to guide a person towards appropriate professional help.

First Aid for Mental Health problems such as:

Alcohol and Mental Health;
Cannabis and Mental Health;
Stimulants and Mental Health;
First Aid for Suicide – using the ALGEE method of approach;
First Aid for Self-harm;
First Aid for Depression;
Alcohol and Depression;
Illegal or Recreational Drugs and Depression;
First Aid for Anxiety;
First Aid for Psychosis;
Schizophrenia;
Bipolar Disorder (manic depression).
(The above is an extract from Scotland’s Mental Health First Aider Manual)

Davina’s Poem

One of the reasons I am sharing this with you today, is that at the start of the training we were given a poem to read written by someone who used poetry as a method of communication whilst going through some challenging self harming mental health issues.  I want to share that poem with you today, it is given with kind permission from Davina Smith and it has been included in the Scotland’s Mental Health First Aider Training Manual.  Here is Davina’s poem:

Who Me?

You smoke each day
Puff your life away
You clearly know it’ll kill you

You drink with the moon
Drown your liver and soon
There’s a chance it just may kill you

You drive too fast
And what if you crash?
You know it might just kill you

You smoke your dope
Take drug, others hope
This time that they won’t kill you

You over-eat
Can’t see your feet
One day it’ll certainly kill you

You look down on me
And all you can see
Are my cuts and scratches and scars

I’m having my life
While you’re taking your life
Now tell me, who’s the self-harmer?

by Davina Smith (with kind permission)

This led onto further stories being shared by participants of the training of how young adults experiencing mental health issues used poetry to communicate their feelings with their key workers – I found this fascinating.

There is indeed a special power in poetry, I have always believed that, creative self-expression can be the breakthrough that we need to move on in life, I know I have certainly experienced that for myself.

This was a very tough training course for me, maybe because I connected so much with it.  I learned a lot and share some of this learning with you today.

May you continue to express your heart through your creative soul, because I believe that there are real people out there, who truly value and connect with your words, you just might be ultimately and positively changing a life too.

Lots of love to you today, Clarabelle

How Do You Know?

How do you know when you are happy, I mean really really happy?  This next poem is inspired by some thoughts around that question.  I do hope you are feeling happy today, even if you just get in touch with your own inner happiness for a moment, right now, it will give you an instant boost.  Much love and smiles to you today.  Clarabelle

How do you know?
How do you know?

How Do You Know?

How do you know, when a heart speaks with truth?

What does it tell you, in the telephone booth?

Open the secret, share it with your soul,

It’s the ultimate path, to make you feel whole.

Happiness is here, happiness is now,

Applaud each moment, take a bow.

No matter if sunshine, no matter if rain,

Break down the barriers, to feel at one again.

Rainbow Days

I had the most amazing childhood, it was full of fun, adventure and magical spirit.  I was surrounded by an abundance of friends, love and laughter….I hold these special memories very close to my heart, they are locked in my soul forever…..we will never be apart!!  This next poem is inspired by my childhood dreams and those treasured times of the past that have shaped who I am today.  If I ever feel I have travelled afar from who I really am, I think of those rainbow days and those long summer sunsets, where I danced in the wind, laughed in the rain and played with love in my heart, every moment of every day.  I wish you a day filled with a childlike free spirit that makes you feel so very happy inside.  I am smiling now, I do hope you are.  Love, Clarabelle

Rainbow Days
Rainbow Days

Rainbow Days

Sweet sweet child in me, playful and full of fun;

Dancing in the rain, laughing under the sun.

Happy was my heart, true friends were all around;

My soul skipped to the music, love in me profound.

Fresh air on my face, the clouds so magical too;

Hopping in an out of puddles, this is what I do.

I wake up with a song, playing in my heart;

Singing to this tune, I repeat this special part.

Smiles, hugs and warmth, fill my rainbow days;

Light shines from within me, reflecting spectrum rays.

Breakthrough

You Can Truly Help Yourself

All of my poetry is based on my life experiences, some amazing ones and some really challenging ones.  This next poem was written by me from a challenging time in my life.  I didn’t realise it at the time, but I know now, that the pain I was feeling, was the releasing of negative energy that was not serving me well.  I call this poem, my breakthrough poem, the reason being is that I opened up my heart and asked for help whilst feeling in such a vulnerable state of mind.  I remember this experience so very clearly, it was 3am and I couldn’t sleep, I felt really tearful…..I asked for help and I truly believe I got it – from myself.  This poem is a true reflection of that night, I believe some kind of inner miracle happened and I know the power of the universe was listening to me.  I share this very personal poem with you, in the hope that if you are facing a similar tough experience, it will give you faith and knowing that your current difficult experience will gradually pass with time and maybe just maybe the first step to that happening is accepting the situation for what it is and asking for help.  I believe that help will come from within, for you can truly help yourself and turn any negative situation around.  May you take courage and strength from these words, “The next message you need is always right where you are.” (Ram Das) and I feel my true life experience told in this next poem proves that.   Stay strong, you can do it!!  Much love to you today, Clarabelle.

Breakthrough

It was 3am, I just couldn’t sleep;

With tears in my eyes, the message came deep.

I was all alone and I repeated out loud;

“Help me, Help me”, I’m lost in the crowd.

Give me a sign, that you hear my cry;

I don’t know what to do, or what to try.

A few hours passed by, but nothing came my way;

I felt abandoned, and full of dismay.

When morning did come, I searched all around;

Give me a signal, then a book beside my bed I found.

I had been clearing out cupboards, the night before;

And this book fell out, and onto the floor.

Little did I know, for in my time of need;

The answer was there in advance, disguised in this good deed.

I picked up the book, and to my surprise;

The answer was there, in front of my eyes.

“Help is here if you need it” – words marked in bold;

Someone was listening, this answer they told.

I smiled inside, for I knew what to do;

The fact that I asked for help, was the start of my breakthrough.

That day I found comfort, for the universe heard my plea;

I can help myself, is what that message told me.

Keep a Strong Mind

Life Throws Us Many Challenges

Life throws us many challenges and sometimes just when you think you’ve got a little closer to the mountain top, darkness falls and fears and frustrations kick in.  No one said life was ever going to be easy, but we must remember there are many things in life to be grateful for right now.  Having an attitude of gratitude will become your inner torch, and will fill up your soul with an abundance of love and light.  This next poem was written by me, during a challenging time in my life and my self expression through my poetry, at times, was my saving grace.  I now share this with you in the hope that it will help you in some way to move forward regardless of the barriers that are in your way.  Much love to you today and always, Clarabelle.

keep a strong mind
keep a strong mind

Keep a Strong Mind

Too many things, so much to do;

One day feeling bright, the other feeling blue.

At this age now, I look life in the eyes;

Where am I going?  Where’s the surprise?

It’s gone a bit stale, I feel the dust;

I need to take action, this is a must.

The mountain is high, and the weather is bleak;

I must keep a strong mind, even though I feel weak.

Trudge, trudge, every step up the hill;

Moves me closer, this dream I will fulfill.

To escape in my imagination, makes me feel free;

It uplifts my spirits, like the wind’s carrying me.

For I come alive, when I write through my soul;

It opens the straight jacket, and fills up the black hole.

There are no boundaries, no pain my way;

The creativity is flowing, I’m listening to what I say.

It feels like magic, the words they come fast;

Meaningful moments, inspiration that lasts.

This feels easy, as I explore deep inside;

The experiences I hold, come in like the tide.

This I must do, it’s where I feel best;

Forget the distractions and let my mind just rest.

For here I find peace, just the silence and me;

My world is not empty, when I just be.

Today I Was Stuck

Moving from ‘Stuck’ to ‘Unstuck’

We’ve all had days when we feel a little bit ‘stuck’ and I include myself here, after all we are only human.  It is possible for you to go from stuck to unstuck within moments and I believe the process for this is different for every person.  When I created the poem below I was feeling in a ‘stuck’ place, but by the time I had finished the poem, I had moved to unstuck…the answer came from within and when I was in ‘creative flow’. What will you do today to help you move from a feeling of being ‘stuck’ to ‘unstuck’? There is a way, there is always a way, silence your mind, open your heart and let the answers flow.  Much love to you, Clarabelle.

Today I Was Stuck
Moving from Stuck to Unstuck

Today I Was Stuck

It’s nearly midnight, and I’m lying in bed;

I think of my inaction, before I rest my head.

Today I was stuck, I didn’t play the game;

Life got the better of me, unleash this chain.

Many brick walls, are in my way;

Built up by me, getting higher each day.

I kick and I punch, the battle is in me;

I’m fighting myself, this I can see.

So what do I do, to turn this around?

Inside is the answer, this I have always found.

Let go of the fight, it’s not a war anymore;

Staring at these four walls, will not open the door.

Step outside, breathe in the air;

Replenish your spirit, feel the wind in your hair.

Dust yourself down, and put a smile on your face;

Slowly walk down the path, and gradually pick up the pace.

To master the mind, it not about control;

Release that desire, and you’ll discover your soul.

Silence is golden, connect to the now;

The answers will come, and then you’ll know how.

A Walk in the Rain

My mum told me when I was a little girl, I loved to play out in the rain, it always felt very refreshing and free to me.  I would be jumping in and out of puddles and catching raindrops on my tongue, it made me feel so happy.  Nowadays, with my adult head on, I simply just go for a walk in the rain but I still love it.  I suppose living in Scotland is the perfect place for me, because we always get lots and lots of rain, so I am spoiled really.  I went for a walk in the rain the other day, which inspired the next poem.  May the next raindrops that fall on you, cleanse your soul and uplift you to higher spirits.  Lots of love Clarabelle.

A walk in the rain   A Walk in the Rain

A walk in the rain, refreshes your soul,

Ignites your dreams, explores your goal.

When the heart feels heavy, and all seems lost,

The answers are awakened, where once worry was the cost.

Think of freedom, as your mind escapes,

Into the space, to form cloudy shapes.

The view is still, silent whispers you will hear,

Every deep breath you take, banishes the fear.

All is beautiful, your vision is sweet,

Be at one with yourself, hear the music in your heartbeat.

The Water’s Edge

Yesterday I had this inner calling to go close to the water, so I did.  When I got there, I instantly felt at peace, surrounded by nature which was indeed nurturing my soul.  I then got my notepad out and I wrote the following poem. Today, listen to your calling, inner silence is when it’s at its loudest.  Clarabelle

The water's edge

The Water’s Edge

The water’s edge, sets my soul free,

Nature’s hands, are holding me.

Open space, silence in the lake,

This is real here, nothing seems fake.

A treasure island, where tranquility prevails,

A rower in the distance, sets his own sails.

***

The rain may be falling, but it is a beautiful sight,

Soft cloudy skies, birds beneath, in full flight.

The ripples on the water, come out to where I stand,

I take a deep breath in, and reach out my hand.

I feel no coldness, for love shares this place,

Its beauty is inside me, and puts a smile upon my face.

Shine Like A Star

I was inspired to write the following poem because sometimes in life, we just need to take a break and recharge the batteries.  At times we can push the boundaries to the edge of the mountain because we are so passionate and on purpose, however, be careful not to overstep the mark.  We have to look after ourselves so we can give our best and achieve ultimate peace of mind.  Be aware of the signals that are coming through, the mind, body and spirit will let you know if it is out of balance – see this signal as part of the solution to make positive changes that will uplift your being and enhance your soul.  The power is in your hands.

Take good care of the person that’s you

You’ll then shine like a star, in whatever you do

Rest when you need it, just take a break

Recharge the batteries, before you awake

Life can be exciting, but over-stretching too

Your passion will not fade, it lives in you

Create the space, the mind deserves

Relax the body, to build up reserves

Take a deep breath, detox the soul

Your frequency will change and your heart will stay whole

Breathe in Life

I live near a beautiful park and sometimes take it upon myself to just go for a walk and enjoy the beauty of the outside world.  It provides me with such a wonderful inner calmness, where I just enjoy being with me and my emotions.  I often allow myself to get swept away in a dreamy new world of vivid imagination and heartfelt moments.  I encourage you to go for a walk and embrace all of this and more.  Have a beautiful day, this next poem is for you.

Breathe in Life

To take a tranquil walk, in the park

Creates peace inside, for this journey I embark

To smell the flowers, of summer in bloom

Is a wonderous feeling, I’ll be there soon

As mother nature, raises her hat

It awakens my senses, as I think of that

Step by step, I’m lost in transition

Visions of hope and abundant ambition

Free your soul, to the wind and air

Breathe in life, put yourself first and care

‘Me’ Time in the Moment

Everybody deserves some special ‘me’ time and whatever that means for you, please ensure that you include it into your everyday priorities.  Just 10 minutes out of your busy lifestyle for yourself can work wonders.  ‘Me’ time, rejuvenates the spirit, warms the heart and calms the soul……I do hope you enjoy some ‘me’ time today.  This next poem is for you.

‘Me’ Time in the Moment

Just ten minutes away, to think and ponder

Will capture your soul, in a quiet wonder

This special time, is only for you

‘Me’ time in the moment, I hope you do

Create some space, to re-energise the mind

To master this art, is to discover and find

A beautiful you, admired from within

Peace perfect peace, ‘me’ time is a win

The Quiet Sunlight

I live in Scotland and for the past week or so we have been getting alot of very beautiful sunshine, which is truly wonderful.  I feel there are many benefits of catching a few rays and I wrote this next poem whilst having a few quiet moments basking in the sunshine in my back garden.  Go on….capture a moment with the sun today.  Lots of love Clarabelle

The Quiet Sunlight

I soak up its energy, feel the heat on my face

A guiding light, the sun source at my place

Its impact is powerful, the strongest light

Brighter that the stars and the cool moonlight

It’s feeding my body, sharing its wealth

Good for my wellbeing and ultimate health

The quiet sunlight, drenches me with life

Takes away all worries, of trouble and strife

It creates a sentiment, of serenity so pure

I’m filling up with its richness, I no longer feel poor

To capture a moment, of time with the sun

Is special and heartfelt, makes me feel number one

The Morning Moon

Poem, The Morning Moon

When I wrote this poem I was thinking about my early morning, 6am runs.  I started running just over 4 years ago and since then I have completed both the New York and London Marathons, raising lots of money for local charities. This poem describes my inner thoughts, whilst running one morning – as I looked up to the morning moon I also searched for the first glimpse of the morning sun.  This poem is all about appreciating the things in life that money cannot buy, such as admiring the beautiful early morning sky and the pleasures it brought to my spirit by being embraced in the moment and feeling at one with myself.  I hope you find solace in the poetic verse that follows.

The Morning Moon

The morning moon, is so rare to see

It shines a light, of path for me

The moon’s in my mind, I’m thinking alot

My shadow is beside me, deep in thought

This moment is special, I feel at one

The universe is signalling, as each step I run

I search for the sun, when will you smile?

The sky looks so lonely, don’t take a while

Small pleasures of life, that glisten like stars

I’m lost in this beauty, no people or cars

Just oneness and me, as I gaze up to the sky

Just being myself, without asking why

The trip is over, for me and the moon

Embraced in this vision, I’ll see you soon
